[ gotta love concepts you daydream about // song is by yungblud
warnings: language should be minimal for this one ; mentions shots and other hospital stuff, but i skirt around every actual medical thing bc i'm a coward
concept: logan's a pediatrician, lewis and harry are nurses/assistants or whatever it is, you get appearances from ronnie, rosaline, ezra, chase, and bailey!!
and in thinking, i've decided that if chase kept her baby, she would've named her Bee (which is the nickname i decided on ages ago, but it's just straight up the kid's name now)
stay safe,
lew. ]

"Okay, so, you've got two appointments this morning, both of them are for shots, so your morning's pretty simple," Lewis told Logan first thing that morning, flipping through the day's schedule. "Harry's supposed to get here within an hour, first patient will be here in about forty-five minutes."
"Cool. Would it be too much to ask you to grab breakfast from somewhere that's not the cafeteria here?" Logan asked, sitting on the edge of the desk and giving him a charming smile.
Lewis rolled his eyes, shoving his friend off of the desk, because really, Logan should know by now that he hates it when people do that. They tend to move his stuff around and he's not a fan of that. "You've got time, you can go grab it."
"But I'd have to clock out. You wouldn't. C'mon, Lew. I'll make it worth your while."
——
"If you get your shots done, I'll give you a sticker," Lewis bribed, showing the girl the brightly colored princess decals in his scrub pocket. "And if you're really good, Doctor Logan might give you a sucker!"
She sniffed and glanced up at her father, who gave her an encouraging nod. She took a moment to think, then softly told Lewis, "Two."
"Two what, sweetie?"
"Two stickers. Please?"
"I think we can do that. And if I'm not supposed to, I'm gonna do it anyway." He said the last part in an exaggerated whisper, making the girl giggle. "I'll go get the doctor, tell him y'all are ready!"
As soon as the man left, the girl's expression turned fearful again. "Is it going to hurt?" She asked her father.
Ronnie sighed softly. "Just a little bit. It's not bad, Rosie, I promise."
Only a few more moments passed before the doctor entered the room, an almost calming smile on his face. "Hi, Rosaline. Lewis told me that you talked him into giving you two stickers. I can't even talk him into getting me one candy bar! How'd you do it?"
"I said 'please'," she replied, shifting in her seat. "You have to be polite."
——
"So... What's in that shit you're gonna be pumping into my kid?" Chase asked, leaning against the wall right outside the exam room. A quick glance inside, and she could see that Bee was still preoccupied with playing rock-paper-scissors with Bailey.
Harry seemed caught off guard, closing the file in his hands before cautiously asking, "You're not one of those anti-vaccine parents, are you?"
A smile broke across the woman's face. "Dear Jesus, no. I'm just joking with you. I'm not gonna let my little gremlin be the reason that another anklebiter gets the Black Plague."
"Oh, well... That's a relief. Now, technically I can give Bee the vaccinations, but most people want to wait until the doctor is available-"
"I wanna see if this guy is as hot as everyone says he is. We're chill with waiting," she assured him. "I know she doesn't wanna go to school today, so the longer this takes, the more I can justify it."
Really, this woman just seemed off, so Harry just smiled and nodded, then excused himself. He went into the office to put some paperwork down on the desk, only to be ambushed as soon as the door closed, pulled into a tight embrace.
"Hey, in case you didn't know, Ronnie and Rosaline are in Exam Room Three," Logan told him. "Might wanna catch them before they leave."
"Definitely. The family in Two is just waiting on you, the mother wanted to see for herself 'how hot you are'."
He grinned, quickly pecking Harry's lips before heading for the door. "Better get back to work before people get suspicious. Are we still having dinner tonight?"
"Of course. After we can get home and change, of course." He smiled back, then went off towards his family.
——
"Damn- I was kinda expecting hot in an 'older dude with silver hair' kinda way but you're like 'doctor in a medical drama' hot which is- Wow," Chase rambled out without thinking, earning her a shove from both her best friend and her daughter.
Logan just laughed good-naturedly, setting his things down on the counter. "You're not the first parent to have that reaction." He then turned his attention to the small brunette girl. "Hi, Bee. Do you have any questions for me?"
The girl shook her head, mumbling out a soft, "No, sir."
The guy sitting next to her, however, half raised his hand. "I'm not Bee- Well, my nickname is B, but- Can I ask a couple questions?"
"Sure. As long as they pertain to what we're doing with your daughter today."
Logan almost dropped the syringe in his hand when the guy suddenly gasped. "She's not- I-"
"What Bailey's so eloquently trying to say is that he's not her dad. He's just my best friend, kinda like a live-in uncle or something." Chase answered casually, like that was a topic that tended to crop up a lot.
"Okay then. Let's get this done."
——
After everything was done for the day, Lewis had his shit packed up fairly quickly, and was almost to the door when Logan stopped him.
"What's the rush, dude?" He asked, pulling on his jacket. "You got a date or somethin'?"
"Nah, man, Z's dropping Ty off so I get to spend time with him, so I gotta get home for that, plus I know y'all are having dinner tonight. Remember, I took tomorrow off, but I might bring the baby in so you can see him." He said. "I'll see ya, Logan."

[ okay yeah that was a lil bit awkward but i might continue it??
honestly the only time i remember going to the doctor when i was a kid was when we had to get our vaccinations/booster shots and at age four i would cry until they gave me a sticker, that i would immediately put on my forehead and look like an idiot for the rest of the day ]
