[ 1950s au; historical inaccuracy ]
Lewis waited in the small café, hands surreptitiously smoothing down the fabric of his suit as he thought. Logan was supposed to be here at any moment.
Lewis' parents had no clue he was skipping out on business meetings and family time to go meet a man. He had lied multiple times, telling them that he had set up dates with a girl. They would more than likely disown him if this got out.
All of those worries evaporated from his mind when Logan walked in the door, offering Ruby the waitress that familiar, breathtaking grin. He came over and sat down, turning his attention to the man in front of him. "Where were you? I missed ya yesterday at work."
"My father wouldn't let me skip that meeting. I apologize," Lewis murmured, smiling back hesitantly. He pulled a piece of paper and a pen from his pocket, and slid them across the table. "I need you to give me your address, by the way. I have a present for you, it just needs to be delivered."
Logan warily wrote down the information, handing the items back. "If it's something extravagant, you don't have to spend that type of money on me."
"Considering money isn't really an issue, and you're important to me, I'm spending as much as I want on you. All I ask in return is that you sing me a song," Lewis replied, his normal rose colored blush returning to his face.
"I might be able to manage that," Logan returned easily.
—
A few days later, before Logan's set at the bar, he found Lewis in his usual seat. In a hushed voice, he asked:
"How the hell did you even get a piano up to my apartment!?"

[ sister to sleep; an au where chase and ronnie are siblings ]
"Hey, Ronnie?" Chase murmured, watching him closely as he painted her nails. "I wanna be just like you when we grow up."
"You're silly. I'd much rather you be yourself," he told her, giving her a quick smile as he capped the bottle. "Once that dries, you can paint mine, if you'd like."
Her eyes lit up. "Really? You're so cool!" It faded, though, as the insecurity set in- "What if it looks really bad?"
"We can take it off and you can try again, or I can paint them," he told her calmly, that same gentle smile on his lips. "It's okay, Chase."
—
"Yo, Ronnie?" Chase called softly, standing next to the older boy's open bedroom door. She seemed nervous, something out of character on her.
He looked tired, his hand rubbing at his eyes as he joined her in the hall and closed the door behind him. "Is everything all right?"
"I... I have a date tonight," she said, looking down at her hands. "Can you maybe help me get ready?"
His eyes widened, just a bit, but the smile that lit up his exhausted eyes made it clear he was excited rather than shellshocked. "Of course I'll help. Go on to your room, I'll be there in a few minutes."
"Thanks, Ronnie! You're the best."
—
However close the siblings seemed to be, Ronnie had no idea what was going through Chase's head when she ran away.
It was like she dropped off the face of the earth. He couldn't find her, had no clue where she had went.
That is, until he met Ezra.
Ezra worked in this small cafe, and one of his coworkers looked eerily similar to his sister. It wasn't confirmed until she caught a glimpse of Ronnie and practically ran towards him, wrapping him up in a tight hug.
He hugged back, obviously, holding Chase close, much to Ezra's confusion. "I missed you," he murmured.
"I missed you more," she replied, "Sorry I left."
"You're here now. You aren't running off again."
