Lewis waited until his mother was in her room to put his plan into action.

It'd been at least a half an hour since he told his mom and brother he didn't feel good, so he was going to bed. A little bit of dishonesty never hurt anyone, right?

He shoved a few coats and old stuffed animals underneath the blankets on his bed, enough to vaguely look like he was sleeping with the covers over his head. Then, he got dressed, ripped skintight jeans, a Bobaflex shirt because gotta rep that favorite band, and a leather jacket he 'borrowed' from a bandmate.

After slipping on his shoes and shoving his knife into his pocket, he opened his window and looked out.

Just like always, Alex stood in the parking lot to the flower shop. He jumped the fence into the yard, then waited silently. Lewis grinned, swung his legs out the window, then jumped.

Alex caught him, just like always. He set the younger boy down on his feet, then Lewis threw his arms around Alex's neck and pulled him in for a kiss. That was normal as well, and as soon as the pair broke apart, they ran down to the end of the block, where Martin and Thomas were waiting in their shitty van.

Alex opened the door, letting Lewis climb into the back before he did. As soon as the pair got settled, Martin started down the road. "Took y'all long enough," he muttered bitterly. "We might not get to do soundcheck now."

"If Tom could learn to set up his drums faster, we wouldn't hafta worry about it," Alex shot back, grabbing a comb out of the box of random junk behind the seat. He got to work on Lewis' hair, laughing softly when the boy leaned into his touch.

Lewis was silent through this, his headphones in his ears playing music just loud enough to drown them all out. It was normal, before shows he tended to seclude himself as much as he could.

Thomas didn't chime in either. Instead, he literally had his damn head out the window, at least until Martin grabbed his arm and pulled on him roughly.

"Thomas isn't a fucking issue," Martin spat, making eye contact with the guitarist in the rear view mirror. "How old are you, 'Lex? And how old is Bass Boy there?"

"You're one to talk, airhead. You've fucked him, you're older than me, and that definitely sounds illegal." Alex's voice was level, a hint of a smile on his lips as he finished smoothing down their bassist's hair. "He's fifteen, I'm eighteen. That's legal. Frowned upon, but legal. You were twenty two, he was fourteen. That's very much illegal and it'd be a shame if someone reported it."

"What the fuck are you, a goddamn lawyer?"

"Nah. Too boring. I just made sure I wasn't breaking any laws before I got attached."

"Fuck you."

Alex gave him a full blown smile as he kissed Lewis' forehead and murmured, "I ain't your type. I'm too old."

"If I didn't need you assholes, I'd kick you outta the band right now.

All their disagreements were forgotten after the show, when they were practically drowning in alcohol, weed, and other various drugs.

Lewis was glued to Alex's side, practically sitting on him instead of the shitty couch in this random frat house. His face was tucked against the older boy's neck, lips ghosting across the sensitive skin.

Alex didn't mind, though, and none of the people here were going to remember seeing the two guys in such an intimate position. Plus, half the time, Lewis looked like a girl from the right angles.

"Hey, Alex?" Lewis murmured, shifting so he was actually in his 'boyfriend's lap.

"What's up?" He asked, leaning back and pushing back on the younger boy's shoulder so he could get a good look at him.

Lewis' pupils were dilated, so much that his irises were barely visible. He just smiled, a soft "Love you" falling from his lips as he went back to kissing the older boy's neck.

"Love you, too," he replied, just as soft, running his hand along Lewis' spine. "We should probably get you home, 'fore your mom calls the cops."

"Don't wanna go home."

"You have school in a few hours, sweet pea."

"I'm not going. Wanna stay with you," Lewis mumbled, fingertips trailing across Alex's face. "Maybe Chloe. Not Mom and Mason."

"If you go home tonight, I'll let you stay with me next weekend," Alex bribed, pushing him back again. "Your mom's probably worried sick, baby."

"I'll go if I have to," he sighed, frowning as he got up. "I just want you to take me, though."

The older boy smiled patiently, standing up and grabbing Lewis' hand. "We'll walk."
