"Ezra!"
The shrill, annoying voice was one the vampire was unfortunately accustomed to, and it was with a loud sigh that he threw down the game controller. Slowly, he stood up and made his way upstairs and down the hall to the room he tended to avoid at all costs.
"What the fuck do you want?"
The siren was standing in the center of her room, wrapped in a towel and her hair dripping wet. That was a stark contrast to the fact that her hands were covered in what seemed to be congealed blood.
"You put a fucking dead body in my closet while I was out last night! What the fuck is wrong with you?"
Ezra rolled his eyes, leaned against the doorway. "What makes you think it was me?"
Chase's jaw dropped. "No one else here kills people, you undead freak!"
Just then, Ronnie peeked in, gently resting his hand on Ezra's lower back. "What's with all the shouting? Lewis asked me to come up, he's told his friend that you're practicing for an audition."
Ezra shrugged, opening his mouth to assure Ronnie it was nothing important, but before he could, Chase spoke. "Your husband has so kindly put a corpse in my closet, got blood all over all my clothes, and is denying everything!"
It was clear to Ezra that she was changing her tactic to get Ronnie on her side, because she went from angry to mostly upset, and on the verge of tears.
Ronnie glanced at his husband, then carefully joined the siren in her room. She looked genuinely distressed, breathing in tiny gasps, the thin gills on her throat fluttering as well. Ezra rolled his eyes and left, leaving the two by themselves. Chase's act was disgusting, and he didn't want to witness any more of it.
Ronnie avoided touching her hands, instead gripping her shoulders softly. "Go take another shower. I'll bring you some clean clothes, and see about getting this cleaned up. I wish you two would get along."

Downstairs, Lewis' friend Z was still wary of all the shouting she'd heard. Even though he'd assured her everything was okay, and even though Ronnie said something, she was still uneasy.
Eventually, though, she calmed down. It helped that Chase, the housemate who'd be screaming, came to apologize, a sheepish smile on her lips.
"Ezra likes pulling pranks on everyone, and he caught me really off guard with this one. It was just a really lifelike dummy and a lot of fake blood, don't worry about it," the siren assured her.
The look in the other woman's eyes almost compelled Z to ignore the incident, so Z waved it off with a laugh.
A little while later, after his friend left, Lewis confronted Chase, being uncharacteristically rough as he pushed her against the wall. "Why the fuck did you use your abilities on Z?"
Chase shoved him away, rubbing her shoulder as she glared at him. "I didn't!"
"I know her, and that wasn't a normal Z thing. She didn't act right for the rest of the time she was here, and she smelled different too!"
"Calm down, Wolf Boy, it was a lil' compulsion so she wouldn't freak out! You should be thanking me."
"You can't go around charming people like that! Gods, I-"
Chase gently cupped the side of his face and met his gaze, softly telling him, "Let this go. Everything's okay."
