*Vicki's little bit of random*

Hey guys, so I am completely obsessed with Starkid (I think everyone knows that it's not some big secret.) but I've been thinking recently about how much Starkid has inspired me to do stuff. Sure, they are a big group of nerds who do funny musicals then put them on the internet (Trail To Oregon next month guys, who else is excited?) but they've inspired me to get more involved in drama and theatre. They've made me realise how much I really love the arts and even sometimes have made me want to take up dance again (which I am really bad at, but used to enjoy. And am now seriously considering taking it up again, if it weren't for all the other stuff I have going on.)

Not only have they inspired me, but they've made me feel a part of some big community. I am in a LOT of fandoms but I've never felt like there were other people in the fandom. Sure they were there for me to reblog stuff from on tumblr, but with Starkid I feel like there's a load of other people out there.

Finally, their songs. They can be funny and make you laugh, or make you cry (specifically for me any of the songs from A Very Potter Senior Year. I cry every time I watch it.) but they can also make you feel better. I've found that I can apply some of their lyrics to my life (which sounds weird and I'm about to get kinda soppy but just roll with it guys.) I found myself thinking of the lyrics from 'To Have A Home' this time last year when I was chilling with my friends. I was still kind of new to the group, and it was my first sleepover with them, and up until that point I still felt like the newbie who could get kicked out at any point. But that night, playing truth or dare and talking about stupid stuff, I felt like I finally belonged.

Another song I really like is Not Alone. I guess that kind of fits with feeling like I'm part of a big group of nerds who also love a big group of nerds.
