(Y/N) POV:
Once the others and I escaped from the hotel, we found a hiding spot in one of the game booths, "Head In The Vase", and hid ourselves in the giant vases. Slowly, and carefully, we all poke our heads out to see those monsters dragging away some more college kids.
"I have a sinking feeling these dudes aren't brainwashed cult members," Shaggy says.
"What the heck are they, then?" Dean asks.
"And what do they want with the college students?" Sam asks.
"I don't know. But we need to follow them," I say, earning a nod of agreement from (F/A/N).
"Say what?" Shaggy asks.
"So we can hopefully defeat the creatures and try to save Fred and Velma," I say. "I'm not sure how strong those things are, but that green gas they breathed out, I think it's a type of knockout gas. As long as we avoid that, we should be okay."
"Well, that's sort of like my plan: We just get the heck out of here and let the creatures eat Fred and Velma!" Shaggy exclaims, scarred.
Some things never change.
"No way. Fred and Velma always figured out everything," Daphne says, making me nod my head in agreement. "Now it's our turn, Shaggy. For the first time, they're the damsels in distress, not me."
I'm not sure what caused it, but the vase Daphne is in started to tip over, causing her to fall. Seeing Daphne fall down like that, the others and I all scrunch up our faces, as though we had eaten something sour, thinking that Daphne's fall must've hurt.
"Daphne? You okay?" I ask.
"Help?" Daphne asks.
"Timber," Shaggy says.
After helping Daphne get out the vase she was in, we all follow those monsters, to find out where they could be heading to. And as luck would have it, following those monsters leads us all the way to where Mr. Mondevarious held that Spookapalooza for me and the gang earlier today. We make sure to keep ourselves hidden behind some rocks, watching the monster drag away the college students through some kind of tunnel.
"Okay, I'm calling for help," Mary Jane says all of a sudden, grabbing her cell phone.
"No. I got this. I got this," Daphne says, ready to make a move. But then she backs down once a door closes, preventing us from entering the tunnel at this point. "I don't got this."
Mary Jane then continues with making that phone call.
(3rd) POV:
After making the call, a coast guard answers. "Coast Guard Fitzgibbon."
"Hello, sir. We're on Spooky Island. Our friends were..." Mary Jane then shares a look with everyone, thinking that it'd be a bad idea to mention the monsters. If the Coast Guard was told that monsters had kidnapped people, they would think of it as some prank instead of taking it seriously. "...Kidnapped. We need someone here right away."
"Well, we do have a unit in the vicinity. Can you meet them at the pier?" the Coast Guard asks.
"Uh-huh," Mary Jane answers.
"All right. They'll be right there," the Coast Guard says, then hangs up the phone. He then turns to his co-worker, with an evil smile. "Our friends have been kidnapped."
The Coast Guards then let out an evil and wicked laugh.
(Y/N) POV:
After that phone call Mary Jane made, we all agreed to camp out at the beach, waiting for the Coast Guards to come help us. But I couldn't sleep. After what happened today, I've had a lot of things on my mind. I stare out at the ocean, as I sit down on the beach, with my knees to my chest.
"Can't sleep?" I hear Shaggy ask.
"...No. I'm worried about Fred and Velma." I admit.
"You still like him, don't you?" Shaggy asks.
My eyes widen a little. "What do you mean?" I ask, hoping he doesn't mean what I think he means.
"You still have a thing for Fred, don't you?" he asks, with more clarification.
I feel myself blush a little. "It's that obvious, huh?"
"Well, yeah. We've known each other for years, ever since we were, like, little kids. So, of course I'd know," he says. "And don't think that I didn't notice how much it tore you up inside when you broke up with him 2 years ago, even though that was your decision."
He knows me way too well.
"It's just that...today kind of reminded me of the time when we caught the Spector, Principle Deedle, red-handed from trying to scare everyone out of Coolsville High. And the time when we went against Wanda Grubwort and the Lake Monster. Today almost felt like those times, but worse. It all felt so easy back then, when we were solving mysteries and unmasking people...I guess, what I'm trying to is that I'm scared, even though we've been through dangerous situations before...I'm scared. I'm scared about whether or not we'll actually be able to save Fred and Velma. Those monsters are completely different from everything we've been through. And...I'm scared. So scared...that it makes we wish that we can go back to the good times from when Mystery Inc. was still a team."
As I say that last part, I'm unable to hold back the tears from coming out of my eyes. Shaggy then rubs my back, trying to comfort me in any way that he can. Later, I'm somehow able to fall asleep with the others. But considering how my head was filled with a tornado of worries, it was a miracle that I was able to get any sleep at all. Before I knew it, I was woken up by feeling something smack into my face.
I slowly open my eyes, seeing that what had woken me up was a...beach ball? I also notice the sun coming up, and then look around to see if the Coast Guard had arrived or not. But what I see takes me completely by surprised. The windows and walls of the hotel...Someone had repaired the place, as though it was never attacked by those monsters in the first place.
"Daphne? Guys, wake up," I say, gently nudging Daphne and (F/A/N) to wake up.
"What is it?" Daphne says, waking up.
"Look," I say, pointing to the hotel.
Daphne takes a look, and becomes just as shocked by what she sees. "Something messed up is happening."
"What? Is the Coast Guard here?" Shaggy asks, until him and the others also see the undamaged hotel. "Like, what happened to the shattered windows and the busted walls?"
"I don't know. But something's not right right here," Dean says, earning a nod of agreement from Sam.
"Yo, (H/C). The ball," a blonde girl in a bathing suit says.
I grab the ball and pass it to her. But even so, I'm actually freaking out about how strange this situation is right now.
"Let's go," Daphne says, her and the others just as creeped out as I am.
We all follow Daphne, heading to the pool area, making us confused and scared. We know what we saw last night, when those monsters attacked everyone at the hotel. Yet, everyone else is acting like nothing happened. Instead, they're all having fun, like they're at a pool party, and everything is normal.
"Anyone else think this is strange?" Shaggy asks.
"Considering what happened last night, strange doesn't even begin to cover it," Sam says.
"I agree," (F/A/N) says, standing close to me.
"Okay, we need to split up," Daphne says.
"Why?" Shaggy asks.
I roll my eyes at him. "We still need to find Fred and Velma, despite what's going on right now," I point out.
"I'll go this way," Mary Jane says, pointing to one direction.
"I'll go with her," Sam suggests. "This doesn't feel right. And I don't feel that any of us should be going alone. Not after what happened last night."
We all nod our heads in agreement, and let Sam go with Mary Jane.
"Okay, I'll go with Dean," Daphne says, making the rest of us nod in agreement.
Dean is strong, and after that attack last night, I doubt that he'd try to make a move on Daphne, especially with the situation going on right now.
"And we'll go with you," Shaggy says. But Daphne instead points a finger in one direction, telling Shaggy and Scooby to get going. "Come on, Scoob."
While Shaggy walks away, Scooby whines, begging Daphne to let him go with her. But she gives him the hint to go with Shaggy, making him give in.
"Be careful, alright," I say, taking what Sam said seriously.
"You too," Dean says, before going with Daphne, who nods her head in agreement.
(F/A/N) and I then get going, to catch up with Shaggy and Scooby. As creeped out as this feels, seeing these people act so calm, despite those monsters attacking everyone last night, I'm still worried about Fred and Velma. So, along with Shaggy, Scooby and (F/A/N), I make sure to keep a look out.
Scooby sniffs the ground, with (F/A/N) trying to help him, until they stop.
"Fred?" Scooby and (F/A/N) ask, shocked to see him.
"Yo, yo, the bitch was like what? And I was like, later on!" Fred exclaims.
My eyes widen in shock, glad, but also surprised to see him safe and sound.
"Fred," Shaggy calls out, making Fred turn his attention to us.
"What up dogs?" Fred says to us, then turns his attention to Scooby. "And, uh...dog."
"Keeping it real," Scooby says, giving Fred a peace sign.
"Fred, are you okay? What happened?" I ask, curious on how Fred can be so calm, after being kidnapped by those monsters last night.
"Yeah. Like, what happened last night?" Shaggy asks.
"Man, we got beats like it was the lizz-nizz on earth. You know what I'm saying, G?" Fred asks.
Shaggy nods his head, but then shakes it. "No," he says.
We then hear the sound of something being smashed from somewhere, as well as an all too familiar roar.
"You hear that?" Shaggy asks, becoming scarred, followed by me, (F/A/N) and Scooby.
All of a sudden, three college students stand next to Fred. They then do the unexpected; they all roar at us, breathing green gas, and their eyes turn green!
They're monsters?!
Shaggy, Scooby, (F/A/N) and I scream, scarred, and then start to make a run for it.
(3rd) POV:
"Get the girl and the dog," Fred(?) says, him and the other monsters giving chase.
(Y/N) POV:
Shaggy, Scooby, (F/A/N) and I run with all of our might. While running, I notice that more monsters(?) appear, chasing after us. Thankfully, I notice something coming into view.
"The shed!" I yell, pointing to the said building.
"Hurry, get the door!" Shaggy exclaims, all four of us getting inside of the shed, then closing and locking the doors.
Unfortunately, we're far from safe once those monsters(?) smash their fists through the doors, trying to get to us. I even feel Fred's(?) hand grab my neck, nearly choking me, after breaking a glass window.
"Why is Fred rin a brad mood?" Scooby asks.
"He's not in a bad mood, Scoob," Shaggy says, helping me by managing to get Fred's(?) hand away from my neck. "He's a monster!"
That would explain why everyone was acting like nothing happened last night, as well as the strange behavior of the college students.
The four of us back away from the door, but that does little good for us. The monsters keep smashing more glass windows, while some of them try to break through the ceiling.
"(Y/N), Raggy, rikes!" Scooby exclaims.
"I know, yikes!" Shaggy exclaims, while I nod my head in agreement, feeling more scared about this than the things I've faced before.
"No, rikes!" Scooby exclaims, he and (F/A/N) pulling back a tarp, which reveals Spooky Island's bikes.
Shaggy and I both smile, realizing what Scooby is getting at. "Scoob," Shaggy starts.
"You're a genius!" I exclaim.
We don't waste any time on getting on the bikes. Once we start them up, we use the bikes to smash through the doors, and then make our escape.
"That was close," I say, making sure to be careful with riding my bike.
"Yeah. But now we've got to find the others, before those monsters do," (F/A/N) points out, riding behind me.
While driving, we see Mary Jane appear from some trees, making us realize that we need to stop before we can accidentally crash into her.
"Raggy, look out!" Scooby exclaims.
Shaggy quickly steps on the breaks, just about a foot away from crashing into Mary Jane.
"I just saw my friend, Beth Ann. There's something wrong with her eyes," Mary Jane says. "And they got Sam."
"Like, hop on!" Shaggy exclaims, none of us needing anymore information.
"Get on, quick," I say with urgency.
Mary Jane quickly gets on Shaggy's bike, wrapping her arms around his waste. We then notice some more of those monsters appear, making me, Shaggy, Scooby and I start our bikes, so that we can get a move on. One of them, however, grabs onto the tail of Shaggy's bike, making it being dragged onto the road.
"Shaggy!" (F/A/N) exclaims in fear, pointing at the said monster.
"Like, what a drag," Shaggy says.
I then notice something coming up ahead, making me come up with an idea. "Shaggy, right turn!" I exclaim, pointing to the said turn.
Thankfully, Shaggy understands what I'm hinting at, and nods his head in my direction. "Like, you got it."
When we make the turn, it thankfully becomes strong enough to make that monster let go, and crash into the plants. Even though its only for a moment, we all cheer, glad to be rid of those things.
"Like, duck!" Shaggy exclaims, ducking his head from hitting an incoming branch.
Mary Jane, however, had no such luck as the branch hit her face. I become worried, hoping that she's not hurt, until I see her face, slightly out of place, revealing green eyes and sharp teeth. I'm not sure who gasped, but I'm not the only one who notices this. Scooby and (F/A/N) become just as shocked to see that this thing is not Mary Jane. But instead of doing anything to us, she pulls her face back a little, and then smiles at us once her face smacks back into place.
She's one of them.
