in which adrien is stuck in a winter storm, is rescued by ladybug and the two share a tender moment

Why did he stay out for longer than usual after patrol?

Why did Plagg have to drop out of the ring right as he was about to head home?

Why did winter decide to throw a storm his way now?!

Pulling his coat a little tighter, he huffed out a cloud of breath and tried to move forward, only to meet the resistance known as the wind. It battered and it bruised and it pushed against him with all its might. The snow blinded him, he could practically hear the laughing of the ice queen... or was that just the howling gale?

Hugging his arms, he stumbled left and right, his hope and anger ran away, fleeing from the cold that sunk into his bones.

A whisper escaped with his breath. "Help..."

... he fell to the ground, the cold defeating him.

Oh, he would've, if he weren't suddenly picked up and soaring through the storm.

What...? The cold had numbed his ability to think logically, as well as slowing his thoughts. It took him a minute to realise where they were headed, but only after dazedly staring down at the lights beneath him.

The opening and closing of a window later and, while the cold air could still be felt in his bones, it was no longer the suffocating blanket it had been before. In fact, this blanket felt warm and was irresistibly soft...

"What were you doing out there?!"

HUH?!

His eyes shot open to stare at the source of the familiar voice in front of him. Ladybug, spots and all, standing there in all her glory and boy was she mad.

"Why were you out in a winter storm for god's sake?!" She demanded to know, hands on her hips as she stared at the boy. "You're lucky I happened to be passing by, otherwise who knows what might've happened to you!"

Adrien shivered, pulling the blanket closer around him. "Was... walking when it... hit..." he mumbled. "Trying to... clear my head..."

Ladybug muttered something under her breath before pulling a thermos out of her bag. Adrien recognised it, it was the one she always brought to patrol for him, or rather, Chat Noir. He hadn't quite finished it when the storm forced the two to retreat to their homes.

"Here. Hot chocolate, warm yourself up. Then you should probably have a hot bath." She sighed, handing him the thermos and watching him drink it. "I need to get back."

She stood to leave, nudging open his window when he thought to stand. "Wait! Your thermos!"

She looked back momentarily, a smile on her face. "Keep it. I can always buy another one for that cat." Hesitating, she turned and kissed him on the cheek. "Merry Christmas Adrien, and try not to get stuck out in another storm." She winked before disappearing into the still raging storm.

Adrien touched his cheek, feeling his face heat up tremendously. "M-merry..."
