"Catching up feels like a chore."
This is obvious. If catching up feels like a chore for any friend, that friendship probably won't last much longer. Not just online friends.
Out of the 11, this one feels most realistic to me. I don't like talking over the phone, I hate it even. It is so annoying, why text someone when you can just see them in person?
Because of this attitude towards texting, I tend to not stay close with people. I've never minded, I have friends that understand I'm just not a phone person, and that's enough for me.
However, if someone lives 9 thousand miles away, texting and calling is just about the only way to communicate (or letters? I guess?). Which is exactly why this seems most realistic to me, I feel like I would get bothered with texting all the time and just give up on the friendship.
But... I haven't. Not even close.
Texting my best friend is always a highlight of my day, even despite my distaste towards the form of communication. In fact, I am constantly spamming her (as seen in my location).
So, catching up is very far from a chore. I love hearing about what she's done that day and her plans for the weekend, just as much as I love telling her about mine.
