Here you sat, swirling tea around in a fancy saucer as you watched the sugar you put in it dissolve in the hot liquid. This was all you had to do to occupy your time as you waited on an IPC representative.
As for context, you were selling the generational company your father had built from the ground up, and the IPC was the first on the list of buyers since ages ago. This little private room was in your home, a little big, but nowhere near the size of the manor your father adored so much.
It was big enough to have buisness meet ups, but your privacy mattered more to you, so you most often had those at dinners and such. But this was much too important to talk about in public and it was with a very important person.
You looked over as the door opened with a butler in its way, briefly bowing his head to you before stepping aside to reveal just whom would be representing the IPC. And i can't say you were exactly prepared..
But you could never, ever, forget those piercing eyes.
The door closed, and the blonde smiled at you as you stared at him, completely frozen and..unsure of how to react. His smile softened as he walked over and took his hat off and set it aside.
"Awe~ don't look so shocked." He smiled and sat down across from you and crossed his legs, holding his head high and crossing his arms while you still seemed star struck with the sight of the same Avgin before you.
"Kakavasha?" You echoed the name that you faintly remembered from your youth, here's to say, he was a far cry from the malnourished quiet and..far less flashy boy you remembered. But it went the same with you.
You seemed far more elegant and refined now, having been through the thick of learning buisness and the real world all on your own after inheriting everything at such a young age. You both were older, and in high sitting positions.
But he still seemed just a tad more soft when met with you, he couldn't bring himself to gamble so harshly with his life with you nor would a single lie leave his lips this evening. Even so, his demeanor was still somewhat unsettling.
What if he had a vendetta with you? he's been welcomed into your home, the same man who beat your father to death with the shackles he imprisoned him in. There were so many thoughts running through your head as you stared at him, clearly star struck.
"Relax~ I'm only here for buisness talk." He assured and tilted his head as you looked away and cleared your throat, "Suppose introductions aren't exactly needed.." you sighed and looked back at him.
"Well, i more commonly go by Aventurine now, but you may call me what you like..not like i could stop you if i wanted." he hummed with a pleased smile as you scratched your cheek.
"Whatever you say.." You sighed and shook your head before resting your hands on your lap and meeting his hollow gaze. He smiled and opened his mouth to speak, his gaze softening noticeably.
"The IPC will pay a notable sum of 250 million credits for the acquisition of your company." He stated, forward and quick, hardly beating around the bush. "isn't that a bit much?" You inquired, and he seemed just a smidge surprised..what person would haggle down from so much money?
It was just another display of your good will and lack of greed.
"Well just a little convincing goes a long way." He hummed, "Jade would have rather lured you into a trap, save the money over all" he smiled and tilted his head as you narrowed your eyes. "Then if Jade is your boss, why are you sitting before me?" you inquired.
"Because I wasn't going to let her do that, not to you." he hummed and shrugged, "Why?" you crossed your arms and tilted your head. His smile was sly yet soft at the same time, but those eyes still bored into you.
"Because i'm not betraying your goodwill." He hummed, leaning back against the sofa and humming, the smile and daunting look in his eyes disappeared and became more..soft, all that vulnerability came out.
"I didn't get the chance to be your friend when we were younger..so i'd like to do that now." He hummed, and here's to say, you weren't prepared for this buisness conversation to turn sentimental.
"R-really?" you blinked in surprise and leaned back, "well, i think friend isn't exactly the right term." he chuckled and leaned forward and leaned onto his head with a pleased hum.
"We can get back to that in a second though, i need to know, deal or no deal first." he hummed, "For 250 million credits? Certainly a deal..i didn't think it'd be worth so much." you sighed and scratched the back of your head.
"I may have haggled the Price with Jade and left her to argue with diamond." he chuckled and tilted his head, "So it would have initially likely been much less." he stated and looked at the tea on the table before looking back at you.
"Now back to what i was saying before," he smiled and met your gaze one more time, "Why not have a date with me?" he inquried, coincidentally, he had moved his left hand behind his back as he fixed his tie with his right hand.
You paused and stared at him, before doing a brief double take and leaning forward a bit "C-come again?" you inquired, wanting to make sure you heard him correctly. He chuckled and tilted his head, "A date, dinner maybe? Not sure where though." he shrugged.
Cocky but obviously playful, it was relatively alluring and nice to see he's gained so much confidence. "You..- a date..?" You repeated and took a moment to think before laughing, "i didn't know we were going to go down this route." you chuckled.
He seemed relieved seeing you react positively, he reached his hand out across the table with a charming smile, and you did the same, shaking hands. "It's a deal then." he joked and tilted his head, "Or, date." he mused and stood up, taking his phone out and holding it out for you.
You took a moment to register before chuckling and handing your phone to him, "Your phone case is.." you tilted your head "tacky." you hummed and put your number in his phone, named yourself before setting his phone on the table.
He chuckled and shrugged, setting your phone in front of you and smiling as he took his phone "Well, i have the wealth, why not get the case to match?" he mused, you couldn't tell if it was jokingly or not.
You rolled your eyes and stood up as he headed for the door, "Dunno, seems silly." you shrugged and walked side by side with him for a moment before opening the door for him. He looked at you and smiled, "thanks."
You nodded "Guess it wouldn't hurt to walk you out myself, huh?" you chuckled and the two of you stepped out into the hall and you began leading him down the hallway. He toyed with his jewelry or sleeves, occasionally adjusting his tie until you both reach the door.
"I'll call you once i get to my hotel, then we can decide where to go?" he inquired as he stepped out onto the front porch and turned around to face you, and you nodded with a faint smile. "I am very happy to see how well and good you are." you beamed and Aventurine laughed.
"Save me the parting words, we'll see eachother soon."
He left before you could get another word in..
"The cockiness matches the flashiness.." you chuckled.
