hello :) today's one-shot is based on a prompt given by natynttyy so I hope you'll like what I did with your prompt.

To say that Lee Seokmin could go a day without his assistant Jisoo was a blatant lie. His assistant was his most precious employee. He worked so efficiently and Seokmin could not make it through his day without his help. The young CEO hired Hong Jisoo when he first inherited the company from his father, it has been six years. And over those six years, you could say they became friends. If you don't count Seokmin's massive crush on his assistant.

"Jisoo, can you tell me the schedule for this afternoon ?"

"Well you have one meeting with the human resources department for the annual debriefing at 2:30 and the meeting with Kang corporation is today at 4:00, sir."

"Thank you."

"Do you need anything else, sir ?"

"You to stop calling me sir would be a good start."

"We're at work."

"I know, I'm just teasing. No but seriously, maybe we could grab some lunch later ?"

"Yeah, let's grab lunch together. It's been a while."

"It's fine for you right ?"

"Of course."

"Perfect. Let's go for pizza."

"We always go for pizza."

"There is this new Italian restaurant that opened, they even have some bruschettas. I know you love those."

"You remember ?"

"Jisoo, you've been my assistant for six years and my friend for four. Isn't it normal that I know those little things about you now ?"

"Yeah maybe."

"Plus you know some stuff about me. Like blackmail material."

Jisoo laughed lightly.

"And it will be the occasion for you to talk about what's troubling you. Now back to work, we still have lots to do."

"Yes sir."

The morning went well. The two of them worked separately, Jisoo sometimes requesting Seokmin signatures on important documents, their work for the morning was complete just in time for lunch.

"Ready to go ?"

"I'm sending this last email and we can go."

Seokmin waited for Jisoo to finish his email by the door and watched him put his coat on. His friend was by his side very quickly. And in no time they were at the restaurant Seokmin wanted to try. He truly wanted to try it because it offered one of Jisoo's favorite foods and it could probably cheer him up a bit. So once they ordered, Seokmin finally told Jisoo the question he had been wanting to ask him all week.

"Now that it's just us two, will you tell me what's wrong ?"

"My boyfriend broke up with me."

Because of course Jisoo had a boyfriend. When Seokmin realized his crush or more love he had for his assistant, the said assistant was in a relationship for three months. Until now.

"What ? Why ?"

"Well he said I was more at work or with you than willing to spend some real time with him."

"Is it my fault ?"

"No, it's not. I think it was just an excuse. I'm pretty sure he was cheating on me."

"Oh. I'm sorry. You don't deserve that."

"To be honest, I didn't have any feeling left for him. I realized recently I had feelings for someone else. But you know it's just breaking a routine and life of two years that's hard."

"Of course it's hard. You loved him for a very long time. It's normal for you to feel this way even if you're ready to move on. Even if you realized recently that you liked someone else, you love him in a friend way now, losing a friend is hard."

"Well let's stop talking about this. I don't want to think about it."

"No problem. Lunch is on me by the way."

"No. You paid the last time we went out."

"Let me pay as a thank you for supporting work with me."

"Work with you is fine. Let's split."

"Not happening."

"We'll see. By the way, you have lunch with your mom tomorrow."

"What ? No. I don't want to go."

"I'm afraid you don't have a choice Min. You did say you were available for her that day."

"Don't we have meetings tomorrow ?"

"No you're clear."

"Can you come with me ?"

"No. I'm not coming to a family meal with you again. Last time was a mess."

"My mom loves you."

"Not working. But I can wait for you at the office if you like."

"Deal."

"Now tell me, who's that new guy you like ?"

Seokmin watched Jisoo's cheeks turning pink as he tried not to show how frustrated he was because of the question.

"I'm not telling you."

"Why not ? I'm sure hyungs know. You're not being fair."

"Don't bring my best friends into this."

"Am I not your best friend too ?"

"Yes, but it's different. You're Min."

"I know, I was just teasing you. Don't worry, you'll tell me when you're ready."

Seokmin really tried to ignore the blush that deepened in Jisoo's cheeks but could not help wondering if he was the reason for the said blush. His thoughts got interrupted by their food arriving. And it was a delicious meal. Seokmin was extremely pleased by the pizza he ordered, it was perfect and Jisoo was delighted saying it was one of the best bruschetta he ever ate. He snapped some pictures before eating and Seokmin was sure they would end up on his Instagram page later in the day. Once their lunch ended, they were back at the office for an afternoon of meeting.

The day after, Seokmin was free of his CEO duties for a day with his mom. And if the idea of hearing his mother complaining about him not having a lover did not thrill him, he was more than happy to spend some time with her as he was busy all the time and couldn't be with her as much as he wished. In the morning, Jisoo had sent him the address of the restaurant his mother wanted to try and the museum they will visit after that as well as his wishes for a good day. And maybe another text to remind him that he would be waiting for him at the office after his day.

Seokmin was satisfied with his day with his mom. The restaurant was up to their expectations and the museum was very beautiful. He drove her back to her house after promising to plan another day like this very soon. He was now on his way to the office to meet Jisoo, a little later than he expected but he wished Jisoo waited for him. As expected, most of the workers were out of the building and already home by the time he got here. But he did not expect to find Jisoo sleeping at his desk.

"Jisoo ? You have to wake up. You can't sleep in here."

The only answer Seokmin got was a sleepy groan.

"Come on, I'll take you home."

Jisoo opened his eyes at his sentence.

"I can't go home."

"Why ?"

"My ex is there with his new..."

"It's okay, you can stay at my apartment."

"I don't want to burden you."

"You are never a burden. Come on, you need sleep. And a real bed."

"Thank you Min."

"It's nothing."

Seokmin grabbed Jisoo's coat and bag before reaching for his hand.

"Let's get you to bed."

He did not expect the kiss Jisoo planted on his cheek.

"I don't know what I will do without you Min."

As Jisoo said that he started walking to the elevator, hiding his raging heartbeat to his friend and boss. He could not believe he had been brave enough to do that. He felt his cheeks burning but decided to ignore it and turned to Seokmin.

"Come on. You promised me a bed."

Seokmin smiled at him before entering the elevator. Hope was burning in their two hearts, maybe their relationship was ready to shift into something more. And if you listened close enough, you would hear two hearts beating at the same rhythms, waiting for each other. But for now all they needed was a good night's sleep and Seokmin would do everything in his power to guarantee Jisoo would get it.
