In the taitle, Chimbley could feel the ground beneath him shaking. He stared at the unfinished machine before finally cracking.
"Oh, sod this." He spotted the cigarette out of his mouth, stepping on it. "Bugger if I'll stay here just t'get troubled by sum..." He got cut off, seeing two silhouettes walking toward the brown kid.

"Oh, heya!" You saluted, waving your hand to seem friendly.

"...Cor."

"Finally, we found someone alive and breathing on the streets!" You continued, "Ahem, anyway sorry for the uhm... short... introduction, but have you seen a pink midget? Maybe accompanied by some ginger know-it-all and a purple woman..." You asked.

"By any chance I did." Chimbley tried not to laugh at Benzene's nickname. "'Oo're you? Wot the 'ell 'appened  t' yer eye? And why is de yellow guy not speakin'?" His last two questions were aimed at Karl.

"What, this?" You pointed to his gray scar, "Oh, he fell down a bunch of stairs. Also, I jinxed him." You explained.

"That's what he said..." You added, barely above a whisper. At least no one heard you.

"You know what?Karl, Karl, Karl, Karl, Karl, Karl, Karl. You can speak now." You smiled at Karl. He sighed before resting his hand on Chimbley's shoulder.

"You see, we have to talk to them without delay, but unluckily we haven't found anyone yet!" Chimbley immediately waved his cold hand away from him.

"I unnerstand why! One by one they ran away like rats an' left me 'ere wif that stack of metal junk!" He extended his arm that held his broom, emphasizing his point.

"Hey, dude, you can't just go around insulting people's creations, they could be very useful..." You stared at the machine, wanting to steal their oil supply again. "Are you like, friends with them or something?"

"Not as much, no. We share sum needs, 'is all." Chimbley answered, lighting another cigarette.

"So I assume you don't know where they went," Karl said with a somewhat disappointed tone but immediately brought his cheery tone back. "Could you at least lead me to the people organizing the tournament? They probably have their ways to know everyone's location..."

"Ye mean th' ol' man? I know where 'e lives, but I doubt the bloke's still there. Harrington Street, a few squares up 'ere." Chimbley pointed behind him.

"Well that's enough for us. Maybe we'll find something about the Law of Talos there..."

"Wot?"

"Nevermind them! Also, thank you very much for your help, little boy! Is there anything we can do for you in return?" Chimbly puts a hand under his chin, thinking.

"P'raps. Got penny in yer pockets?"

"I think I have some, gimme a couple seconds, will you?" You reached for your non-existing pockets, actually switching your hand to a sword. You slashed at the kid, wanting to cut their head off as your screen turned into a sideway 'X'. You giggled.

"Hahaha.... It was painfully obvious that kids here are smart, I should've known better.."

"And I should've known you're just anovver mad, murderous tourney fighters!"

"Don't be so paranoid..." Karl cooed, pulling out Arma, "Their hand just slipped, is all." As he finished his sentence, Arma turned into a sword. He then took a couple steps forward.

"Slip it somewhere far from my 'ead, then!" He grabbed a door that was on the edge of breaking, slamming against Karl's own head before running away from you.

"Pfft—" You stopped yourself from laughing by clearing your throat. You both chased the little kid.

"Will you run away, little boy? How inappropriate!" Meanwhile, Chimbley climbed on the fire emergency stairs.

"I'm more int' being inappropriately alive!"

You started climbing the stairs. "I didn't recall the pink midgette running away."

"An' why do ye fink she lost?"

"Dayum..." You whispered.

"I like your trains of thought." Complimented Karl. Chimbley reached the top, seeing a stable flat pipe. You followed the kid, you going first. You didn't notice Karl mumbling something before reaching the closest thing to him, that being you. He literally just hugged you from behind. Not that you complained though.

"Karl? You alright there, Resin Boy?" You side glanced him. Chimbley, noticing you weren't following him, looked outside to see you.

"There is nothing wrong. I just felt a sudden attraction for a..." He glanced at you for a couple second before looking back up at Chimbley, who was snickering a bit. "I just needed support." That's gotta be the dumbest excuse you ever heard him, out of all people, say.

"Roight... Toodle-oo, guvnor." He waved at you two, before dashing off.

"So... can you let go off me, now?"

"No. Not yet." He stuffed his face on your head, not daring to look down. You were glad he couldn't see your face, as on your screen, there was a couple lines of blush under your eyes. Slowly, you took tiny steps forward, trying to get the both to the other side. As Chimbley went downstairs, you finally reached the other side.

"Okay, Resin Boy, we reached the other side, you can let go now." You heard him mumble something, but you didn't know what. Not like you cared anything. He then finally let you go. If he was human, he'd probably blush a bit.

Chimbley reached downstairs, and before he could go any further, Karl smashed the ground beneath you, causing it to collapse and land infront of the little kid. Did I mention he carried you piggy-back? Not because he wanted to, (he actually wanted to do this) but because you made him do it. Chimbley backed away.

You got off of Karl, and walked to his right, about to attack the kid, before you felt something hit the back of your head. You glanced back to see two... police officer? You didn't know, but you know damn as well they look goofy.

"You have destroyed part of the puplic patrimony used currently to the competitors in need. That, is a level three offense." The security said.

"Those security blokes again..."

"Offense? I'll show you offense..." Your screen showed the same 'X' screen from earlier, transforming your right hand into claws. But you made sure to hide the hand, except Chimbley saw it.

"Grand lodge, it didn't make a scratch!"

"Step aside, Darryl, the heavy hand of the law will teach them manners." The other security guy with a metal bat said, walking towards you. You didn't hesitate to slash him in half.

The security's upper body landed infront of Chimbley, who was slightly disturbed by the view.

"Oh, holy mother of drones, the tournament must be really tiring if I do that kind of stuff! Oh, what has gotten into me!" You dramatically said.

"You... Our superiors will hear about this insolence!" The still standing security exclaimed.

Chimbley, in the other hand, already exited the hallway using a nearby door. He halted in his steps when he heard the sound of glass breaking and screams of agony. He made a dead-panned expression but he still continued running away.

He ended up running inside of a junkyard, unfortunately reaching a dead end, as tall fences with a cliff behind blocked his way.

You finally caught up to him, with you drinking a can of oil. All this running made you overheat a bit, and if you fly, you'll expose yourself to the sun more, which'll heat Karl's jacket, then you.

"I think we had enough of the whole cats and mouse chase..." Karl tilted his head. But Chimbley had an idea, why not distract you a bit, so he can run away!

"Just outta curiosity, why dis obsession wif killin' an' destroyin'?"

"A thief killed our parents and we promised to avenge them." You answered, lying. They called you a MURDER drone for a reason.

"But let's not lose focus, shall we?" Karl finished. You curiously licked your bloody claws, wanting to know how blood taste like. You thought it tasted a little salty, and then that's all.

"Roight, so because of sum' 'orrible tragedy you both decided to go all bonkers and kill everyone. But ye don't fink 'at's give ye the rights ter kill me! I can't die 'ere. I've survived worse fings then dis!" He exclaimed, slowly getting lost in his words and forgetting about his whole 'distracting and running away' plan.

"Lawks, I had a day like dis at least once per week! I've passed through orphanages, academies, a miserable work in an asylum 'at became sum tourney f'r no logical reason, I've faced demons, fanatics, doctors, cancers, a climber, even zombie children!" Chimbley finished listing off all the things he faced.

"A climber?"

"An' now the same mishmash decided t' wreck my city, the only 'ome I've got!"

"So that's why you don't want to die here?" Karl asked with a empathetic tone. "That silence alright. I understand."

"Wot."

"Go die in NEW JERSEY!" Karl DANG KICKED the orphan in the air, your jaw dropped to the floor. Seconds later you giggled. Then it turned into laughter. This whole thing got you rolling on the floor and stuff.

"AHA- THE-THE- BAHAHA.. THE KID... AHAHA—!" You couldn't even muster a sentence without laughing mid-way. Karl just stared at you, smiling. It wasn't his usual, 'I'm gonna kill your ass so hard you will wish you killed yourself instead' smile, it was a an adoring smile, like he was staring at a precious gem. He sighed before looking up.

"[NAME]."

"AHA... Aha.. ha... Ahem– Yeah, what's up Resin Boy?" You asked, finally calming down and getting off the ground.

"Is there anything I can do in return after this?"

"What do you–"

"I wanna give you something in return. What do you want?" He turned around to face you.

"I don't kn—" You got cut off by Karl grabbing your shoulder and kissing you the best he could. Yes, it was cold, but it was Karl, so not like it mattered to you. After what seemed like an eternity, He pulled away. It was just silent in the air, not an akward one, but a comfortable one.

"Listen, [NAME], I love you." He broke the silence.

"I—" Karl then engulfed you into a hug.

"Please don't leave me. I don't want it to happen again." You didn't know what to say. This had caught you so off-guard, you went out of character. You didn't hesitate to hug him back, smiling on his shoulder. "Don't worry, Resin Boy..." You began, caressing his back in an attempt to comfort him.

"I won't abandon you."

"Didn't know you wanted me like that though..."

"Pfft... [NAME]..."
