     "It'll be okay," the grey-haired boy you called your boyfriend said, "It'll be fun," he said.

     What's this the thirteenth day sneaking out? Why does it have to be an unlucky number? You just hoped you didn't catch the attention of your higher-ups because you knew you'd get an earful sooner or later. You also knew this was very risky and would probably cost you your life. 

     Taking the forest route instead of the one with the path, you shuffled amongst the green foliage as you began to spot a red bridge. Your journey came to a halt as you heard something behind you. 

     Your body froze as you looked down to see a black mamba slithering past where you would've stepped. Even though it was a black mamba, the little danger noodle nearly looked like a dying branch. You huffed out a relieved sigh as you continue your journey.

     "I swear you could trip over your own shadow if it isn't for that snake." a voice spoke behind you. 

     You turned around and surprise, surprise, it's none other than the copy ninja. "I'm sorry. My shadow's a tricky little bastard. It likes to see me fall to its level."

     He laughed as he looked at the destination I was heading. "Another mission?"

     "Yeah, Lady Tsunade wanted me to meet Kabuto on the bridge for more intel." you lied. 

    "The things the elders would do just so we could have the upper hand in this tug of war between us and the Akatsuki. Also, why are you wearing that necklace?"

     "Oh, this necklace is just a family heirloom." you lied again, it was originally from your beloved. That's when you spotted a familiar figure. The ash-grey hair, the harry potter glasses - I meant the circular glasses - the dark purple shirt. Yeah, that's definitely your boo. But, he had one of his hands hidden away behind his back.

     You begged Kakashi not to interrupt since it's your 'mission' as you began to saunter, without hurry or effort, towards your lover. Little did you know Kakashi noticed the hand behind Kabuto's back and was like a cat ready to pounce.

     You greeted Kabuto with a smile as he asked if you were followed or not, you shook your head as Kabuto began to talk,

     "(Y/n), sorry I don't have enough time since I know if Lord-Orochimaru would give me an earful if I stay too long." he apologized 

     "It's fine, I also don't have that much time for today." you replied as you saw how as he started to pull the hand behind his back to show you what he was holding. Thinking that he would stab you the copy ninja got out of his hiding place and threw Kabuto a smoke bomb. 

     Orochimaru's subordinate took out his poisoned kunai as he tried to attack the assailant who barged in on his meeting with you; and that was when he stabbed someone, whether it be the assailant or you, he never knew. Accept what he didn't realize, was that the poison on the kunai was unfinished and may have a long-lasting effect he would never want.

     Two days passed...

     "Sir, she's awake." a young medical ninja who has decided to become Kabuto's subordinate informed the gloomy man. Ever since he came back carrying you to one of Orochimaru's lair he was worried sick, he didn't mean - he never wanted to stab you. When the snake man found out he insisted after you've woken up to bring you back as soon as possible to the Leaf since he wanted no connections to the wretched village.

     "How is she?" Kabuto asked in a low voice.

    "She's awake and she's fine, but-" the medical-nin's sentence came to a halt. "Have you known her for a long time?"

     He nodded, knew they were going to ask that.

     "I-I'm sorry to tell you this but-"

     "Let me see her for myself."

     He entered your room which was more like a cave and spotted you curled up with a scalpel in hand as if ready to attack. 

     "(Y/n)-" he began.

     "Stay away from me! Don't come any closer!" you yelled out.

     Just as he thought, you had lost your memory.

     "(Y/n), it's me." 

     "Yes, I know you! You're one of Orochimaru's henchmen during the Konoha Crush!" you continued. 

     This was worse, he expected you to lose your memory, but not this much. You now know him as the ass who interrupted the Chunin Exam. Kabuto then pointed at the necklace you had around your neck. Hoping that could at least reach any memory of him that's left in you. 

     "I gave that to you, don't you remember?-" 

     "Get out."

     "(Y/n)-"

     "Get out!"

     And with that, he silenced himself and left. Kabuto informed his Lord what happened and he decided to let you stay until you've recovered at least some part of yourself. He's not that heartless.

     Another two days have passed.

     You now remember a bit of yourself; your rank, your role in the leaf, and the fact that you're dating Kabuto. But not much.

     After knocking a few times on the door to your room, Kabuto finally entered as you finished your cup of hot cocoa a medical-nin gave you earlier. He set down the tray of food he'd been carrying earlier as he looked at you as if he wanted to talk like the first time you woke up.

     "So, how are you feeling?" he asked, resisting the urge to hug you, to comfort you, to show you affection, how he felt all those days which were probably one of the worse in his life.

     "I'm better, I guess." you hesitated as the last two words escaped your lips that he oh so wanted to kiss. He missed you so much.

     "Do you still remember the necklace I gave you?" he asked, his right hand reaching up to hold the cold gold jewelry around your neck. You shook your head. Failed again. At least it was a good try.

     "Maybe another day?" you suggested as he agreed and left the room.

     It has been a full week now. The snake sanin devised an antidote and that was soon given to you. Kabuto placed all his hope in the antidote, he wanted this to work, it had too. With sweating hands he opened the door to your room as you sat there, patiently waiting for him. He sat down next to you on the bed as he pulled out an antidote from his pocket. 

     "Lord Orochimaru made this. It's an antidote, drink up." he placed the small glass bottle on your lips as he waited for you to take it. Slowly, the purple-colored mixture ran down your throat as you tried not to gag and throw it up. Orochimaru said that the antidote will take time to work but for you, it took mere seconds as memories came flooding in. Kabuto cupped your face as he waited for it to work, his face was so close that with just one push your lips would crash in a passionate kiss.

     Your lips formed a smile, "Thank you, Kabuto."

     He also smiled happily as he embraced your body as if you were going to disappear. You're back, his lover's back.
