"ken wake up!"

I shot up out of bed from my deep sleep I was in. "Jesus Top. You could've sent me into a heart attack!"

He laughed as I clutched my chest and relaxed my shoulders. "Sorry but it's almost noon and no one else is home and I'm hungry."

"So go make yourself food like a grown adult. I'm not your maid." I rested my head on my shoulder looking at him with my head tilted.

"No but I have my moms card which means we could eat anything." Topper smiled holding the credit card in his fingers.

I laughed and pulled the blankets off of me. "Fine. Give me 20." I pushed him out of the room and closed the door behind him.

After picking an outfit and doing the smallest amount of makeup, I was ready. I rushed downstairs and met Topper in the kitchen where he was snacking. "Dude seriously. I didn't take that long. Come on. Where are we going anyway?"

"The country club. Best food ever and Rafe has a way of getting us drinks." He shrugged with a smirk.

"Great." I sighed.

As we drove, we trailed off to the Camerons house. It's not that I hated this place but being around Rafe just ruffled my feathers and since he was best friends with my cousin, there was no escaping his presence.

"Why are we at Rafe's house?" I sat in the passenger seat looking out my window at the house that kept me in awe no matter how many times I saw it.

"I told him i'd pick him up. Come on. Ward and Rose are here." Topper did his best to lie.

"Yeah and Sarah." I raised my eyebrows.

"Shut up. I just wanted to talk to her." Topper shrugged. He parked the car and we both jumped out of the car and made our way to the front door.

"Hey! Kennedy wow I barely recognized you. You were a little girl last time I saw you. Welcome back!" Ward Cameron outstretched his arms to me.

"Hi Mr. Cameron!" I forced a smile on my face and accepted the hug anyway. I've always had this weird feeling about Ward. I've never been shown any disrespect by him but something rubbed me the wrong way.

"Is sarah here?" Topper asked.

"Yeah. She should be out back." Ward pointed towards the backyard. "Come on in!" He welcomed us inside and I walked in slowly. Topper immediately took off leaving me alone with Ward.

"So how's that boyfriend of yours?" Ward asked walking into the kitchen as I trailed behind him.

"He's good. Going off to college soon, he's super smart and knows what he wants so he's got a bright future ahead of him." I smiled and nodded.

"That's amazing! I wish Rafe would take some notes and figure out what he plans to do." As if on que Rafe walked into the kitchen.

"Sorry to be such a failure dad. Maybe you should be asking your daughter the same thing." Rafe angrily shut the cabinet he grabbed a cup from.

"You know I have the same expectations for you both!" Ward argued back.

Rafe filled his glass with water laughing to himself. "Come on Ken, let's go find Top."

"Nice to see you Mr.Cameron." I waved as Rafe drug me out of the kitchen with him. We walked towards the backyard as I followed behind Rafe. "Thanks for saving me back there. I really didn't wanna talk about my boyfriend to your dad."

"What? You didn't wanna continue to brag about how perfect your life is? Or your smart boyfriend?" Rafe turned around clearly annoyed.

"Okay first of all my life isn't perfect. Second, he is very smart and it's not my fault or his that you don't have plans for yourself." I stopped in my tracks pissed off at his comment. He always had to get under my skin.

Rafe laughed once again because he knew he won. "I have it all figured out Ken, alright? You'll see."

Rafe and I walked in on Sarah and Topper arguing. The two separated once we made it known we were present.

"Come on Top, let's get food. I'm starving." Rafe whined.

I crossed my arms smiling to myself."Probably from all that coke you snort." Rafe glared at me. It felt good to get back at him.

"Let's go Top!" Rafe's voice got louder. I knew he was mad now.

The three of us left Sarah outside and walked around the side of the house so we didn't get stopped by Ward. I walked to Toppers jeep and before I could reach for the passenger door handle Rafe grabbed it.

"Im not sitting in the back. Let go." I glared at Rafe whose grip held tightly onto the handle.

"Get in the back like a good little girl." Rafe barked.

"Im a girl. Ladies always have the say." I tried shoving Rafe out of the way but he barely moved.

"Let go." Rafe towered over me.

Topper rolled his eyes as we argued. Would you two just get in the car?"

"Fine. Take it." I let go of the handle and lifted my hands in surrender. As Rafe opened the door I sneakily hopped inside the car.

Rafe shook his head. "Bitch."

Tooper glared at me as I sat happily in the front seat. "Seriously?"

"Have you two never heard the saying ladies first?" I looked in the backseat at Rafe and then to Topper who sat in the drivers seat. The two were quiet. "Of course not."

We finally made it to the country club and walked inside meeting Kelce. The trio could never be separated for long. They were always together.

"Hey what up man!" Rafe locked hands with Kelce as they welcomed each other.

My phone buzzed as we stood around. I looked down and read Zachs name across my phone. I sighed as I looked down. "I'll be right back."

RAFES POV

"Why's she always taking off to talk to her boy toy?" The three of us watched her walk away in a hurry.

Topper shook his head not knowing. "No idea. The only time i've ever met him, he never left her side. They're practically married dude."

KENNEDYS POV

"Hey babe! How are you?" I smiled as I answered his facetime call.

"Good! How's the family? You and Topper trying to escape the rest of them?" Zach laughed.

"Trying to!" I forced a smile and laughing at a joke that wasn't really funny to me.

"Hurry up Princess! I'm starving!" I could hear Rafe call from the deck of the country club.

My face flushed red. I didn't need Zach thinking I was with some guy.

"Who was that?" He asked.

I struggled to form a sentence. "Um...just Rafe. It's just one of Toppers friends. I gotta go. Call you later?"

"Yeah. Sure. Talk to you then!" Zach nodded and hung up. I knew he was upset.

I held my phone in my hand at my side as I walked up the stairs of the deck. "Could you have been any louder? You can eat without me you know?"

"Awh i'm sorry. Did I interrupt your phone sex?" Rafe faked a frown.

I pushed him away from me by his chest while I walked past him and joined Topper and Kelce.

Topper leaned in so no one else could hear us. "Was he mad?"

"No but your friend is a douchebag." I glared at rafe as he sat down with a smile to which i got a kiss in the air and a wink from him.
