Jacob comes out of the woods towards Edward. Reading his mind Edward says.

"They're not going to touch her."

Jake nodded

"Agreed."

looking at X-rays of the fetus in margo Carlisle says,

"Her rib has cracked, but they're no splinters. It hasn't punctured anything."

Edward shakes his head and bluntly said "Yet."

"Edward."

"It's breaking her bones now." Edward said still bluntly, turning to a very sick looking Margo.

"It's crushing you from the inside out. Carlisle, tell her what you told me. Tell her."

Margo had hope in her eyes still.

"Carlisle, tell me. It's alright."

"The fetus is incompatible with your body. It's too strong, it won't allow you to get the nutrition you need. It's starving you by the hour, I can't stop it and I can't slow it down. At this rate your heart will give out before you can deliver. Your inhuman strength isn't doing its job."

Margo shook her head and said
"Then I'll hold on as long as I can and—"

"Margo, there are some conditions that even venom can't overcome. You understand? I'm sorry."

Margo nods and looked to Edward with sympathy and sad eyes

"Edward, I'm sorry."

"I can't live without you."

"You won't. You're going to have a part of me. He'll need you."

Edward Scoffed "Do you honestly think that I could love it? Or even tolerate it, if it killed you?"

"It's not his fault. You have to accept what is."

"Because you've given me no choice! Marz, we're supposed to be partners, remember? But you decided this on your own, you've decided to leave me."

"Don't see it that way! Baby I know this will be hard for you but your gonna need to be there for him. Edward I love you more than anything but I just can't give this up."

"Well, I have no other way to see it. Cause it's me who'll lose you, and I don't choose that. I don't choose that."

he turns and leaves her. Letting the cold tears fall down her face she wipes them and takes off the ring on her to look at it, not her wedding ring but her promise ring. The one Edward gave her.

As Jake tries to keep Margo warm she smiles warmly. She didn't know why because she wasn't really happy with Jake since this whole thing started.

"Don't do that." Jake said breaking the silence.

"What?"

"Smile like I'm your favorite person in the world."

"You're one of them. It feels complete when you're here, Jake. Your my best friend for Christ sake."

Margo then looks like she's about to be sick again.

Esme Quickly grabs a bucket up to her saying "We need to find a way to get some food into her system."

"If I could only see the fetus." Alice spoke.

"The baby." Rosalie corrected.

"Maybe I could figure out what it wants."

looking at Jacob after he let out a little laugh Edward says.

"I think you might be right. Jacob just had an idea."

"It wasn't an idea. It was a snide comment."

Carlisle Tilted his head and questioned "What were you thinking?"

"That it's probably just looking for someone to sink its teeth into."

"He's thirsty."

Emmett Sighed out "I know the feeling."

Edward then said "If it's craving, it's not going to want animal blood."

"I have some O negative laid aside for Margo." Carlisle said going to get it.

as Carlisle is pouring the blood into a cup for Margo to drink Jacob quickly said

"Wait! Wait! Wait! You're going to make her drink that?"

"It's the fastest way to test the theory." Carlisle said to the boy putting the straw in the cup.

"Only if you're comfortable with it." Edward asked his weak pregnant wife.

"I'll try anything."

"Just hold on." Edward said and Jacob made a gagging noise saying
"I think I'm going to be sick."

they watch Margo drink the blood, jacob cringed watching the intake of blood.

"It tastes good."

Edward smiles at her and Margo drinks more of the blood.

"Mmm."

Carlisle smiles lightly and checks her pulse

"Your pulse is already getting stronger."

Esme Clapped with joy with her sweet hearted smile "It's working."

A little later Margo had to call Charlie. So he wouldn't try to come to the Cullen's home. On the phone

Charlie: Well, you sound better.

Margo: I am. I feel much better.

Charlie: This whole thing must have put a kink in the honeymoon, huh?

Margo: You could say that.

Charlie: Otherwise married life treating you okay? Edward still walks on water and all that?

Margo: Yeah. I mean it is different now dad.

Charlie: The important thing is that you're better and that you're coming home soon. Right?

Bella: Okay. Dad, I don't want you to freak out, but I'm going to a medical center in Switzerland just for a bit.

Charlie: What? No, no, no, you're not! You're not going to Switzerland! What? You said you were better?

Margo: I am dad I ju—

Charlie: No. Margo, I'm getting on a plane. No-

Margo: No, it's really more of a, a spa. And I'm, I'm sure that I'd be better by the time you got there anyway.

Charlie: Pumpkin, I, uh, I don't know.

Margo: Dad, don't come. Picture me healthy, like I'm sitting on the couch with you eating that veggie pizza that you hate so much or something.

Charlie: You want me to visualize.

Margo: They say that it helps. Just picture me like that. Like I was. It'll make me feel better. Dad, I got to go, okay?

Charlie: Margo!

Margo: I love you daddy.

Charlie: Pumpkin don't you hang up this ph—

she hangs up the phone crying a little knowing that was probably the last time she'd speak to her father. Edward came to margo and sat on the couch next to her.

"I'm sorry I've been so angry."

"I would be too." Margo said trying to make him feel less guilty.

"I've left you alone in this."

"Marriage!" Margo chuckled

Edward grinned and said "Well, they say the first year is the hardest."

"What was that?" Edward asked

"What?" Margo said confused

"I thought I just heard..."

he puts his hand on Margo's stomach "Just say something else."

"Like what?" Edward smiles

"Edward what's going on?"

Edward Looks up to margo and happily said "He likes the sound of your voice."

"You can hear him?"

"And mine. He likes voice as well."

"What, what do you hear?"

Edward Shakes his head and smiles

"It's so strange. I thought he was like me, but he's not, he's like you. Good and pure. He's happy."

talking to the baby Margo says in her beautiful voice

"Of course you are. Of course you're happy. How could you not be? I love you so much."

Bringing her gaze back to her husbands she asked,

"What, what do you hear now?"

"He loves you, Marz."

"Oh, my gosh!"

Margo starts to cry with happiness and Edward kisses her stomach. He thought maybe this can work maybe this can be.

"I—I wanna try something maybe I'm strong enough."

Edward slowly but surely nods his head. Margo closes her eyes and finds the mind of her baby. Opening them once more this time they are glowing.

"Hey baby."

"Mommy."

Margo nodds her head with tears of joy running down her face.

"Listen to me baby if I'm not here when your born I want you to give your Father Time, it's gonna be hard for him. Promise me you'll never lose hope."

"I promise mommy."

"Okay, okay I'm going back now okay?"

"Otay."

Closing her eyes and reopening them she smiles and so does Edward.

"You know, I'm not gonna lose hope for you either I know you'll be able to pull through love. Your strong. Don't worry we are gonna be okay."

"Yeah, i can do this. We can do this."

Kissing her husband they grin. Maybe this won't end terribly, maybe I don't have a chance. Margo thought.
