The wind blew hard that made my long hair dance along with it. I stood atop the boulder which Tanjiro would chop off when he trains under Urokodaki-san.

Don't get it wrong. I'm not planning on chopping the boulder in two. I just need a perfect spot to stand on for my intro.

Anyways, it's been a long time since I visited my home together with Sabito and Giyu. It was great, I was able to be with my family again, but then Muzan bitch and his minions decided to scare the hell out of me.

Sure, I got scared. I realized that I'm vulnerable in this world. He could kill me anytime he wants. But then he miraculously spared me for an unknown reason.

So I took that opportunity to train harder. Sabito and I sparred a lot, and it seems like we've forgotten that we were not in good terms before. Tho I already apologized as sincere as I could, it looked like he didn't mind about it anymore.

Giyu was still there to help me train using the Breath of the Water techniques. Unlike before, I can do all techniques even better and easier. Makomo also went to Final Selection earlier than I thought right after we finished, and it made me feel anxious for her.

But I think she's trust-worthy. Like she told me before she went to Final selection. "I'll heed your advices in mind." She told us with a smile, and that confidence made me feel relieved. And guess what?

Our girl Makomo also survived!

She told us that she actually encountered the Hand demon that I warned her about. She did just as we adviced her, she didn't belittle the demon and instead focused on agility to dodge the demon's wrath and escape.

Without anything to worry about, I was able to have a peace of mind. But then I suddenly remembered someone whose off the script.

Where's Akio?

If you don't remember him, he's the crappy guy whom I thought to be Zenitsu's relative, but his full name is Akio Azuma so maybe nope. Just a little similarities in attitude, but very different in terms of demon slaying techniques.

I think he's gotten a lot busier. Ofcourse he would. All demon slayers are busy being given missions.

And so years passed, from 11 years old to 14. It's been 3 years and I didn't even realize. Unexpectedly, we were able to join the demon slayers earlier than I thought. As soon as we went back to Urokodaki's place after visiting my home, our forged swords were delivered with our uniforms, until our crows gave us our first mission.

It was actually a hassle for me. Sabito and Giyu had the same mission, except for me, so we needed to go in our separate ways. And what's worse?

"Stupid crow I'm gonna burn you to death!" I screeched as I stopped in my tracks. I thought I was the only one whose a bit dense when it comes to directions, but my crow is the worst! "Don't you know where's left or right?"

"Caw! Right is here!" And the crow flew towards the left. I made a face and sighed.

I'm lucky I was still able to pinpoint the correct direction thanks to my enhanced sense of hearing. It wasn't that hard to fight with demons who aren't even part of the twelve demon moons. It was easy as slicing a cake.

Now back to present. I focused on my breathing as I stood still atop the boulder. I didn't even bother moving a single muscle.

Peace.

Tranquility.

Ah. It's been a long time ever since I felt relaxed. Listening to the rustling of trees, the sound of birds chirping, and the splashing of water. Nature sure makes me feel at ease. For a moment, I forgot that I reincarnated in a supposed to be fictional world.

My hanafuda earrings jingled, making me open my eyes. "Ah, I forgot about this." I mumbled to myself as I touched the earrings father gave me.

I was supposed to give it to Tanjiro last time. But because of the trauma, I forgot about it. Damn demons, I lost my priorities straight.

I guess I'll need to spare some time again to visit my family. I still don't know when father will reach the end of his life, but I'm sure it will surprise me. The moment I hear of Tanjiro selling coals on his own, then that might be it.

"Is there something you need, Urokodaki-san?" I didn't need to glance back and see whose walking towards me, thanks to my enhanced sense of hearing.

"Have you already decided?" He asked, his voice really tells me that he's very old. I sighed as I jumped down from the boulder. My velvet checkered haori flapped into air as I did. One hand held the hilt of my sword as I stand face to face with the former pillar.

I can clearly tell that I also grew taller than before. That alone made me grin triumphantly, making Urokodaki-san confused for a moment.

Clearing my throat, I gave him a serious expression. "I cannot let this opportunity pass, can I?"

"It is all up to you." He replied back in a stiff manner.

Ha. Whatever I do, this former pillar holds an unknown grudge against me and I don't even know why.

"Then I'll accept." I closed my eyes. "The request of being offered a position as hashira came from Oyakata-sama himself, afterall. It is an honor for a humble demon slayer like me."

I don't know how he'll react since I can't even see his face. "Humble you say." His reply made me open my eyes in an instant and frown at him. "I guess you're just too happy to be known as one of the youngest hashira."

"Bet."

Silence. Ever beautiful silence is there to make things awkward. If I was the Amery before, I would have forced an awkward smile. But I'm different now.

Amery may be a kind and joyful person like the Kamado's, they say. But I am me. And this is me now. It doesn't matter if I live like their expectations to me, the only one who can change me is me, and no one else.

The Yu and Mi vibes.

Just in time, my crow appeared as it was about to land on my head. "Caw! Caw! A message for Kamado Amery! Caw!" Before it can even land on my head, I gave it a hard look, as if staring right into the crow's soul. He flapped his wings and still landed on my head, unbothered with my silent warning.

What a brave and persistent crow we have here.

"You may now depart for your next mission. After that, head to the demon slayer's quarters and meet Oyakata-sama! Caw!"

I nodded my head in response. I suppose the message came from the Stone pillar, since his message is always kind and humble. Unlike someone who forces themselves to be flamboyant. Ehem.

Looking back to Urokodaki-san, I gave him a small smile will slightly closed eyes. "Until we meet again, Urokodaki-san."

He only gave me a nod, and I took that as my cue to take my leave. Sabito and Giyu both have their missions today, while Makomo is still asleep. Ofcourse, it's still too early in the morning, but I needed to wait for my crow to tell me to depart now.

As my crow led the way, I followed him with doubt since we might get lost like we did in my first mission, leaving behind the doubtful former pillar.

~*~

As soon as I arrived at a shabby place in an excluded city, I roamed my eyes around to look for the demon I'm supposed to kill. There were other people who are already awake early in the morning. While some are still inside their houses.

"Ha. Well damn." I massaged the back of my neck as I stood still in the middle of the road.

"Miss, are you a traveler?" An old man then came up to approach me. I eyed him from head to toe, before nodding my head. He gave me a faint smile. "Welcome miss. This place may look poor and shabby, but we are all doing good. Would you like to take an inn to stay?"

I looked up to see my crow sitting on a tree branch. Glancing back at the old man, I gave him a small smile. "Ofcourse. Thank you."

As he led the way, I felt the stares of the people in here. Thou it is still early in the morning, I cannot see even the slightlest shine of sunlight. This place is covered with lots of tall trees with large leaves, covering the sunlight.

My crow is steathily following me from one tree to another. I guess my crow is still diligent no matter how dense he is with directions.

I didn't need to glance back since my sense of hearing gave it all to me. All of the people in here are adults, and there are no kids in here. I wonder why?

As soon as the old man stopped in a small hut, I stopped in my tracks as well. I may not have an enhanced sense of smelling, but I can still smell a faint smell of metal. My eyes squinted as I hid my suspicion, facing the old man with a small smile.

"The cost would be free, miss. It's been a long time ever since we had a traveler visit our city." The old man said with a wide smile.

"Oh?" I grinned as I eyed the hut. It wasn't that pretty but still a good house so, not bad. But the smell is really making it weird. Is it really metal, or blood? "Thanks." As I walk past the old man, a chill went down in my spines.

I ignored it and entered the hut, holding the hilt of my sword as I closed my eyes. I took deep breaths before recalling what my crow told me about my mission.

At the city you'll arrive, you won't encounter one demon. But a whole troop of them. A lot of travelers die there, wonder why? Caw!

I sat on the edge of the hut's window with my eyes still closed, cold air suddenly encircled me. "Are you going to ask for payment, old man?" I asked slowly and calmly as I felt his presence inside the hut. "I thought it's free?"

I opened my eyes and saw him and the other people earlier. They all changed their eye colors to a a demon-cat like eyes. Ah, is this what my crow meant?

Travelers die because they go into the trap of the demons shabby city! Caw!

I never knew a city where demons live actually exists. Or maybe this is a change of plot ever since I reincarnated here?

If I was the old Amery, I would have secretly trembled in fear as I try to fake act being brave and confident. But not anymore. Why should I fear these demons when I know I have the upper hand?

A smirk grew in my lips as I unsheath my sword. Standing up and positioning myself into a fighting stance, I took a deep breath as I focused myself on one thing: Kill them all.

Before one of the demons could jump to claw the hell out of me, I quickly jumped out of my direction before swinging my sword, unleashing the first technique. "[Mizu no kokyu, Icho no kata: Minamo giri] Water breathing, First form: Water Surface Slash."

The single concentrated slash is all it needed to slice off the demon into two, blood sprawling everywhere and into the floor, before the demon fell limp, I quickly chopped off his head from his neck.

I stared at the other demons who flinched at my gaze. It was as if they already realized that they're only fighting with their death.

Before any of them could dare to attack nor escape me, I unleashed the 4th technique. "[Mizu no kokyu, Shi no kata: Uchishio]Water breathing, Fourth form: Striking tide." I made multiple consecutive slashes, twisting my body as I swing my sword, similar to a flowing harsh tide.

In a split second, the demons ended up being chopped limb by limb, until their heads dropped into the floor. They started to turn into ashes, and only the old man is left standing.

He had his eyes wide staring at me in shock and disbelief. He didn't expect me to be a demon slayer since I hid my sword with my velvet checkered haori, and it seems like they didn't notice my uniform.

I dusted off the blood that stained my haori, but the stain didn't go away, making me frown. "Ha. Well damn." I heard faint footsteps carefully sneaking out of the hut, making me frown at the old man whose attempting to escape from me.

"And where do you think you are going?" I glanced at the old man who didn't hesitate to run away the moment I took notice of his attempt. I sighed before brushing my bangs up, revealing my ever knock-hard forhead. "It's about time I test it on you then."

I steathily followed behind the old man, and there I faced the other demons. How could I forget that there's a lot of them here?

Swinging my sword, I lunged in and attacked. They were all taken aback due to my speed, and they all had a fragile opening. It didn't made things hard for me as I was able to swiftly slice their heads off their necks, and now they are turning to ashes as well.

Some screeched in pain, some begged to spare their lives, some even cursed me and spouted nonsense. I covered one of my ears due to the noise. Ha, they really are noisy.

And the old man would always be the last one standing. It seems like he is their leader since they protected him as much as they could. But look where it led them to. Fucking death.

"G-go away!" He backed away, trembling in fear as he raised his hand with sharp nails. His demonic-green eyes glared at me. "How dare you infiltrate our lair and kill everyone!"

"Should I be obligated to say sorry?" I deadpanned, earning a disbelief look on his face. I glared at him, my grip on my sword tighten. "Then do you feel sorry for those people you killed and ate?"

"You know nothing!" He roared. "You don't know how hard it is for us to live. And yet...you just killed us as if we weren't humans once!"

He returned the glare to me, but I didn't backdown. I looked at his other hand. It seems like he still has something up his sleeves. I didn't lower my guard, focusing on my surroundings, only to hear something unexpected.

"Uwaaaaah!" A crying child? The sobbing child isn't far away from here. How come I only heard them now?

"You heard that, miss?" The old man smirked at me. "Are you wondering what else we do aside from luring travelers?"

I braced myself to hear the worst. But my eyes almost went out of my eye sockets as I hears his reply.

"Male travelers are easily made for our food. While the females, ofcourse we need them to have children here, right?" He giggled like a madman, a pyschopath who seems to be enjoying killing and toying humans.

I gazed at him with mixed emotions. I was about to say something, but my words choked me. My rose colored eyes glared at him with pure hatred and disgust. I prepared myself in a fighting stance again. "You disgusting piece of shit." I pointed my sword at him. "Where are the kids?"

The old man gave me a challenging look. "Why would I tell you? Wether you kill me or not, it would still be your loss."

My forehead creased. "What do you mean?"

"You are still stupid as usual, little miss."

Just as I was about to protest, I felt a sudden pain in my head. I heard noises which isn't pleasing to the ears. Like a gong ringing inside your ears repeatedly, or a screeching of a metal fork in a smooth glass.

I almost dropped my sword and lose focus, but then something made me snap out of it. Another sound that made me feel fear again.

That damn eerie noise again.

"What is it, miss? Can't handle it?" I ignored the old man who approached me slowly. "You shouldn't have underestimated us, you lowly bi-"

I held him from both his shoulders, I raised my head up, before knocking my forehead on his forehead. I heard a crack, which isn't mine by the way. Backing away, I saw blood dripping down his forehead.

I mentally grinned. Thank you and I had a hard forehead like Tanjiro. Before he can even claw me with his sharp nails, I quickly dodged him.

He lost his composure as soon as I sliced off his arm who was about to reach me. Pain evident on his face as he screeched. "You damn bi-"

"Say that word and I'll kill you right now." I warned him, staring at him straight in the eye. "Tell me where the kids are. I'm in a hurry." I really need to hurry and leave, or else the same thing would happen to me like last time. That eerie noise is something I shouldn't take lightly.

He frowned. "I won't tell you!"

"I see. They're in there, huh?" I pointed at a certain hut with a grin. "I'm so smart."

The old man frowned. "Smart? Don't be full of yourself! They're not there, they're in the basement!" He yelled, and I only stared at him. He then stared back, only to realize what he said. "Shit."

I grinned wider with slitted eyes. "Why thank you for taking the bait. You made it easier for me." Raising my sword, I sliced off his head before he can even dodge. I ignored him and walked into the hut with a basement, cursing me as he turned slowly into ashes.

"Shameless human!" I stopped from my tracks as I heard him say his last words. Glancing back, I saw only half of his face and his eye glaring at me.

I don't know what expression I had, but for some reason, I replied. "Don't put the blame on me, old man. I'm a lot more shameless than you think." And so I hurriedly went inside the basement. The cries and sobs of the kids became louder as I reached a certain room.

Kicking the door, there I saw kids in different cells, as if they were prisoners in a jail. I gritted my teeth in disbelief. "Tsk. Demons really need to die." I quickly broke the locks and opened the kids' cells. Some of them were only below 4, and the eldest seems to be 6.

"Go on. Leave." I told them as I pointed the exit. "Wait for me and the other demon slayers."

The eldest among the kids gave me a nod before she helped the other kids to exit the place.

My crow unexpectedly went inside the basement as well before landing on my head, making me mentally frown. "Other demon slayers are on their way to help the children! Caw!"

"Good." I nodded as I went out last, making sure that there aren't anyone else left in the cell. But before I can leave, I noticed a kid whose hidden in a different cell. Unlike the other kids, he had chains on his arms and legs, as if restricting him to move.

He seems pale, but he looks like 10 years old or younger. And something doesn't seem right with him.

"Hey kid." I spoke. The kid didn't flinch, nor even bat an eyelash at me, making me have an irk mark on my forehead.

The audacity.

"Don't you want to leave?" I asked, not minding the fact that I've been snobbed by a cold snobber.

He didn't respond again. I approached him to have a closer look. My eyes widen in shock as I held my sword again. "You. You're a demon."

Finally, he looked up to me. His lifeless eyes tells me that he's tired and bored with his life. But I don't understand. If the people in this city are demons, why did they need to hide a demon child?

Just then I realized something. He had a messy black hair, his messy bangs almost covered his red dull eyes.

Red...

I bit my lower lip as I warily eyed him. He look young and pale, it seems like he didn't eat any humans yet. And why didn't I notice?

He's a bit similar to Kibutsuji Muzan in terms of the red plum eye color.
