"324 cm!" Yachi calls out and  Kiyoko quickly write down Tanaka's jumping height. Calling him Tanaka is something I'm gonna have to get used to. I'm taping down parts of the net for practice today. It's the first day back from the holiday and I haven't spoken much. Everyone found out about Tanaka and I and why we broke up. It's been tough. Keishin-nii said he'd kick Tanaka's ass but I said no. 

I step down the stool and go outside to fill up the water bottles. I let out a loud sigh and start filling them up.

"Y/N can we talk?" Tanaka steps beside me and helps me fill up the water bottles in the fountain beside the one I'm using.

"It' funny. I told you Didn't want to be the girl crying to her brother over a boy but I was a week ago." I laugh dryly. I don't look at him in the eye. 

"I-I'm sorry." He sighs and I feel my eyes roll.

"Are you kidding me? Sorry is all you are going to say. You lied to me for 6 months about how you only liked me. You just wanted to make another girl jealous and that's the reason why we got together." I feel tears in my eyes. I try and blink them away but instead they fall from my eyes.

"Y-Y/N I-"

"I'm sorry I wasn't good enough for you. I'm sorry I wasn't good enough to date. I'm sorry I wasn't good enough to be your girlfriend. I'm really sorry Ry - Tanaka. "  I sob quietly and he touches my shoulder but I shrug it off.

"D-don't call me Tanaka. Don't say sorry to." He pleads and I cry more.

"This isn't something you can fix with a sorry. I'll see you in the gym."I smile sadly tears still falling from my face. He reaches out to me but I shake my head. I grab the full bottle of water from his hand and put it into the case with the others before I going the gym. I look back at him and his fists are balled up covering his eyes.

I'm still crying when I get to the gym but I hide my face. I place the bottles on the bench and go into the storage coset to get the volley balls. I roll the cart out and put it on the side of the wall and put the score board back to zero on each side.

"Hey shorty. Don't cry it's annoying." Tsukishima says without the snarky tone.

"Hey pool noodle. You sound awfully empathetic right now." I sniffle, giggling slightly.

"You're gonna be ok." He says and I give him a sad smile before he leaves. 

Good thing Keishin-nii doesn't notice me crying. If he started comforting me I would just cry more. Everyone else sees me cry but they just give me sad smiles as they play the practice sets.

"Here are your meat buns." I say handing them out. Tanaka came like he usual but we haven't spoken. Yachi came today too. The third years, the rest of the first years, Noya, Tanaka and I are all sitting outside of the store.

"Thanks." Tanaka says quietly and I nod without looking him in the eye.

"So." Suga tries to break the silence. "Nationals."

"That's not gonna work Suga we already talked about National so much." Daichi says the obvious.

"Why did you guys break up any way? You were fine before the holidays." Hinata asks and I feel the air tense even more. Kageyama starts flicking Hinata on the forehead with a shocked face.

"We just didn't work out." I smile sadly folding up my meat but  wrapper and putting in my bag. I'm not really hungry anymore.

"We'll get back together Hinata." Tanaka smirks and my eyes can't roll farther back into my head. I'm so angry with him.

"I'm gonna go inside." I sigh and stand up from the floor. Dusting the imaginary dirt off my skirt.

"What? Y/N stay." Yachi says and I shake my head.

"I've got a big quiz tomorrow to study for." I lie.

"You know that's a lie." Tsukishima says and I shake my head.

"I-I'm tired. Good night everyone. Get home safe Yachi." I smile sadly and run into the store and go back behind the counter. It's my shift anyways. 

I grab the duster from the cup board and start dusting down the products in the store.

"Hey Y/N." 

"What are you doing here Tanaka. I saw the others leave 10 minutes ago." I say looking at him.

"I want to apologize properly this time." He says nervously.

"I'm listening but let me put this away." I sigh and we go back to the counter and I sit down on the other side.

"It was fucked up for me to lie to you. I liked you and Kiyoko at the same time. It's true that I wanted to get with you to make Kiyoko jealous but I started to like you even more. I sounded like a complete shitty bastard the day you broke up with me. I was insecure about the guys you spoke with. I still want to be with you and earn your trust again because I love you. That, I didn't lie about." Tanaka explains and I sigh.

 "Do you want some F/D? I have two left from the case you gave me for Christmas." I ask and he looks at me happily and nods. I take it out from under the table and give him one.

"I still want to be with you but I need some time alone every once in a while. To think." I explain and he nods.

"Take all the time you need. Saeko was so mad at me when I told her what I did." Tanaka says and I smile. 

"I bet she was."

We don't talk for the rest of the time he's in the store but it's nice. It's almost normal but we are both still tense. I want to be with Tanaka I really do.
