Takemichi's POV

Still following Kaede-chan who was silent the whole time, it is making me more nervous.

"U-uhm Kaede-chan?" I asked

"Yeah?"

"If you don't mind me asking, why did you join a gang? I mean even if you're strong, it's still dangerous." I asked and she stopped walking. I almost bumped into her but I didn't.

"Kaede-chan?" I said

"It's not like I wanted to do this for fun. I just want to save someone." She said

"Save?"

"You don't need to know the minor details, I mean we're not that close right?" she said and I scratched my cheek out of embarrassment.

"Y-yeah, you're right. Sorry for asking." I said

We walked again in silence until she talked

"Do you love someone Takemichi-kun?" She asked

"H-huh?"

"Do you love someone that you'd do anything to keep them safe?" She asked again

"Y-yeah, I love someone that much." I said and Hina came to my mind which made me blush.

"Are you willing to kill for that person?" She murmured but I didn't hear.

"What's that?"

"Nothing! Come on, our hideout is just right there." She said with a smile and pointed at an abandoned arcade.

This is where Kazutora-kun took me in the past. It's still the same but different people.

I can hear cheering and screaming from the inside. Kaede-chan led me inside and I saw someone fighting.

"I think that's enough, Jun." Kaede said to Jun. Isn't it the guy that stabbed Y/n-chan.

I clenched my fist as the crowd went silent. I looked at the guy that Jun was punching and my eyes widened.

A familiar Toman uniform, blond hair, bloodied face and stature like mine.

"Ch-chifuyu-kun?" I said in disbelief. Why is he here? Is Baji-kun also here.

"Shut up Kae, you're not even the boss here." Jun said

"Hanma-san you said you won't let anyone hurt him that badly. We made a deal." Kaede-chan said with a serious tone.

Does she know Chifuyu?

"That's enough Jun, it seems that you've gone too far." Hanma said with a smirk.

"He's not even half-dead. I thought Toman members are stronger than this." Jun said and left Chifuyu on the ground.

I run up to him and luckily he's still breathing. His face is badly injured, it's worse than what Baji-kun did.

"Chifuyu-kun." I said as I hold him. He's unconscious. I clenched my fist and looked at the guy who beat him.

"WHY DID YOU DO THIS, YOU BASTARD!" I shouted out of anger.

"Hoh? You should ask him why he came here in the first place." Hamna said

"What? You want to fight next?" Jun said

I can't afford to strike first. I'll die in vain, 1 vs 300 is not possible for me. I have to stay calm or Chifuyu will be in danger too.

"You're wasting time, I already brought him here so say what you wanted to say." Kaede said to Hanma

"Don't be in such a rush, Kae. There's plenty of time." Hanma said and Kaede clicked her tongue.

"Hanagaki Takemichi." Hanma called and I stayed silent.

"Listen well and tell this to your commanders." He said

"Valhalla is officially declaring war on Toman. A week from now, on October 31st. In the abandoned parking lot. Our decisive battle!" He said

"Remember that now you can go and take this stray cat with you." He said and I quickly carried Chifuyu on my back.

I took a quick glance at Kaede-chan and she was looking at us. It's like she's angry and sorry at the same time but I ignored it and left.

"Chifuyu-kun, don't worry I'll take you to the hospital." I said and kept walking until I reached the road.

I called for a taxi and told the driver to drive to the nearest hospital. I quickly dialed Mikey-kun's number.

"Moshi Moshi, Takemicchi?" He said in his cheery tone.

"Mikey-kun, Chifuyu-kun was beaten up by Valhalla members. I'm rushing him to the hospital." I said and he went silent for a moment.

"Alright, text me the location. I'll inform Y/n-chin and Baji. We'll meet you there, please take care of him in the meantime."

"Alright" I said and ended the call. We arrived at the hospital and rushed him to the ER. The nurses and doctors took care of him and I texted Mikey-kun.

After a while, the doctor came to me.

"Are you his friend?" he asked

"Yes, how is he sir?" I asked in worry

"He's fine now and will wake up soon. He had a broken nose, black eye, and bruises and scratches in his body." He said.

"I see." I said and Mikey-kun together with Y/n-chan and Baji came.

"Takemicchi, how is he?" Mikey-kun asked and approached us.

"He's alright now and needs to rest. He'll wake up soon." The doctor said and Mikey-kun and Y/n-chan sighed in relief.

"Thank you so much. Where should we pay for the expenses?" Y/n-chan asked

"Follow me, the others can visit your friend but don't be noisy." The doctor said and Y/n-chan followed him. We were left behind.

"Let's go see him." Mikey-kun said and we followed. His face was bandaged and was still sleeping. Baji-kun was still silent while Mikey-kun looked at Chifuyu worriedly.

"Who did this?" Baji-kun asked

"Valhalla did, the guy named Jun." I said and they both clenched their fist.

"Jun. The guy that stabbed Y/n. I guess he really wants to die badly." Mikey-kun said with a cold aura.

After a few moments of silence, Chifuyu slowly woke up.

"B-baji-san, Mikey-kun, and Takemichi-kun?" he said

"Chifuyu" Baji said

"I'm sorry Baji-san, Mikey-kun, I acted on my own." He said

"Why did they beat you up?" Mikey-kun asked but he didn't reply.

"Mikey, can I talk with him alone?" Baji-kun asked

"Yeah." He replied and signaled me to follow him. When we got out we met Y/n-chan along the way.

"Where are you going? Is Fuyu-kun awake?" She asked

"Yeah, Baji wanted to talk with so we left" Mikey said to her which she nominated. We sat in the waiting room and were silent.

"Mikey-kun, Y/n-chan" I said

"yeah?"

"Valhalla officially declared war on Toman. A week from now, on October 31, in the abandoned parking lot." I said

"So it's the same as last time huh?" Mikey-kun said

"Yeah" I said

"Then why do they have to beat up Fuyu-kun this early?" Y/n-chan asked

"They said that Chifuyu came there and we should ask him why." I said and we went silent. After a while, Baji-kun went out and came to us.

"I'll visit him next, you can come or wait for me here." Y/n said

"We'll wait" Mikey-kun said with a smiled and Y/n did too before going to Chifuyu.

"What did he say Baji" Mikey asked after Y/n was gone.

"He just kept apologizing at first." he said

"Did he say why he went to their hideout?" I asked

"Because of his cousin" he replied

"Cousin?" I asked and Mikey was silent

"Suzuki Kaede" he said

"Kaede-chan? They're cousins?" I asked in disbelief. Chifuyu never mentions her in the past.

"They're distant relatives on his father's side. He wanted to make her quit Valhalla and being in a gang." He said

"I see." I said.

"Baji" Mikey called but he was silent.

"Don't do anything reckless like avenging Chifuyu." He said

"Huh? Are you telling me to just sit still after what they did?" Baji said in a low tone.

"We're going to war with Valhalla in a week. You can take revenge then." Mikey said in a serious tone and Baji was silent. It feel awkward since I was sitting in the middle.

"Alright, but in return, I'll kill that Jun myself. Not only for Chifuyu but for Y/n-chan as well." He said

"Alright. I'll leave him to you" Mikey said. I know he wants to do it himself after what happened but if he disagrees Baji-kun might do something reckless.

"Yeah, leave it to me." The other replied.

After a while, Y/n-chan came out.

"Let's go? We still have to tell Fuyu's mom so she wouldn't worry." She said

"Yeah." We agreed and left the hospital. We parted ways and I went home.

Chifuyu-kun and Kaede-chan, I didn't know they were family. Is that why Kaede-chan stopped Jun from hitting him more. Why did she look at him like that though? It was hate and concern at the same time.
