wow, i must say, this has been quite the ride.

honestly at first i expected this book to get literally no reads or anything of the sort. so when i hit 1k, i was flabbergasted. seriously, i honestly am just astounded by the support i've been getting lately. all of my works mean so much to me, and to share them with you guys (and for y'all to like what i write) is such a blessing.

okay, progressing forward. this book means a lot to me, because it's unlike any story that i've written before. i've tried so many new things for this story. i've tried to make it aesthetically pleasing, i've added a playlist, longer chapters etc. i also feel like my writing has been improving a preternatural amount lately. so this book is a bit of a gem in my eyes ;)

furthermore, i am a person who gets writers block very easily. i just lose interest in things easily, and that's mainly the reason why I get writers block. for the ending chapters it took me weeks to write them solely because i just wasn't in a Boris phase anymore. but i knew i couldn't just discontinue the book. i had already worked so hard, and this is a book that holds a special place in my heart as stated previously. so i persevered, and i'm just grateful to have had the motivation to do so.

lastly, the idea for this book came so randomly, to be frank. i was just sitting around one day, reading a boris fanfiction. i had thought about his hatred for the sun, and how he always uses an umbrella, and it all just sparked from there, really. the idea of y/n and boris connecting over umbrellas was what started it all. from there, i proceeded to form a backstory for y/n. the reason why she hates the sun, her mother, her father, etc. but i suppose all of my books are alike in a way, because they all start with some random idea, and then backstories and important details unravel from there.

all in all, this has been such a fun journey, and i'm ever so thankful for your guys' support. i hope you all have a wonderful day/night!

ps. almost a week ago from when i'm writing this is when we hit the one year anniversary for this book! i just want to say thank you to everyone for supporting and leaving such nice comments. it makes me so happy to learn that you guys re-read this story, because i put a lot of work in! happy one year, and i hope you will continue to cherish this story!
