Pinpointing it was a little hard, the old, cold and dry-ass wood basically on the verge of actually dying at this point. You tried to move as fast as you could, but you couldn't do much to change the wind's speed seeing as you're just catching a ride. People may call you Mother Nature and expect you to be in full control of the entire earth and all life present, but your control really only stopped at greenery, agriculture and little critters. But hey, the name works so it stays.

You moved in vague directions of where you think the staff was, but reaching a snowy area it got easier to focus on it. It was the only piece of wood in the wide, mountainous area, so it isn't much of a surprise that the small life force you felt from the stick was the one you were looking for.

You return to your humanoid form as you felt it a little closer, immediately regretting it with a yelp as you tripped on a rock covered head to to in snow. You loudly cursed, but the whipping winds practically drowned you out and you gave up. Standing you stumbled around for a bit, about to return to your other form when you catch sight of a small ravine.

"It was me!" A voice echoed from the icy bottom, and you perked up. Wow, what a damn coincidence.

You go to crouch by the edge and attempt to call out, but stop as he continues, "I had a family, I had a sister! I saved her!" There was a pause, and you see his white hair shuffle as he looks up. So naturally, like a normal person who was trying to get his attention you moved away from his sight, leaning on a large boulder even if it was cold. "So that's why you chose me. . ." His voice was soft and barely above a whisper, and the moon largely loomed over you as you sigh quietly at it.

          "I'm a Guardian."

          . . .

There was a chirp and you released a breath, not knowing if it was because you knew baby tooth was with him or because he mumbles a, "I gotta get out of here," a few moments later, before you heard small echoes as he scrambled for something. He picks up the two separate pieces of his staff, cringing when you saw the awful state it was in. He puts them together and stares at it in concentration, before you cringed again when you felt more of the splinters coming off when he failed.

He stands up and tries again, this time a lot more determined and you sighed. Oh well, you might as well help him withβ€”

You raise a brow as you felt parts of them tugging together, that feeling quite a strange one as you've never felt two pieces of wood merging together without your help. Obviously intrigued you looked over the edge again, but yelp as you get sent back by a cold gust of wind, the newly formed staff in his hold as Jack flies off.

But that yelp caught his attention, raising a brow and visibly brightening when he saw your form.

Instead of being happy you felt quite a bit like shit, nervously smiling back as you raised an awkward wave. Oh no, that feeling in your stomach was regret and you did not like it.

"Thank goodness you're here! Come on, we gotta go! We have to stop Pitch!" You stammer as he reaches and grabs your wrist, already zooming upwards with another blast of cold air and you tried your best to keep up. "Wait Jack I don'tβ€” but I!β€”"

You got to your 'ice-skating on thin air' form, flowers gathering by your feet as you tried your best to keep up. "Whyβ€” You aren't mad at me??" You hated sounding awkward but you did when you asked, blindly following him through clouds as cold air whipped and assaulted the both of you but only affected you, "Butβ€” But I said all those shit and slapped you! Youβ€” You should be fuming right now!!"

He had the gall to laugh, "That'd be the opposite of what I am," but he pauses, turning towards you and putting the slight red that still lingered in his cheek to view, doing little to ease your stress, "But it's fine! I know you were only mad for Bunny. And. . .I'm sorry too."

You practically heard nothing but wind when he spoke, nose crinkling and raising a brow, "What?!"

          "I said I'm sorry too!"

"Oh yeah I know I just wanted to milk it!" You started laughing loudly as he stared in confusion, before it infected him and he just started laughing too. Yeah, this was normal, hundreds of feet up in the air laughing maniacally as you flew.

Your first stop was, out of all the places, a hole under a broken bed in the middle of the woods. If you weren't so preoccupied with saving the world you would've thought that he was trying to murder you, but the loud, echoing chirps and clangs of cages made you snap out of it and hurriedly rush to the captive fairies.

"Come on let's go!" You heard Jack from some other part of the large chamber, unlocking as many of the cages as you can but stopping when they chirped loudly in protest. You neared the small doors, looking around at the scared faces of the small fairies, chirping loudly. You slowly nod, you couldn't understand much, but spending all those time babysitting does help. "What's wrong, why aren't they going?"

"They can't fly, Jack!" You called back, nodding at them before flying off to unlock the other cages anyway. It was better to be safe than sorry, so that if anything were to happen and they got their flight back they'd be able to get out of here on their own.

As you go to find Jack you see him zooming to a mock globe, smaller than North's but showing the same golden pinpricks. "The lights. . ." You heard him mumble, landing on the other side of it and watching them flicker.

Moments before you were in a somewhat calm state but now you were downright panicking, the lights flickering for a few fleeting seconds before they disappeared completely. "They're. . .they're all going out!" You cry, touching the surface and lights as though that would somehow stop them from doing so. The exterior felt rough, and definitely unlike the one back at the workshop. That one was more metallic, this one just felt cheap.

Six. . .five, four. . .they were going out too quickly!

It dropped down to a three, and then finally a one, and your heart sank.

The single glowing light sat at the near top, and you half-expected it to just disappear as well.

But much to your relief and surprise it didn't, Jack jumping up the globe and watching it intently. His face brightens, seemingly recognizing who this child was despite it being, you know, a light on a random globe in a dark chamber owned by your worst enemy. "Jamie. . !"

          . . .

          "Who?"

"Jamie! The kid who saw all of us!" He pauses, "All of you!" You cringed. Right, not believed in. "The kid who's greyhound attacked Bunnyβ€” we have to go there, now!" You yelped again when he grabbed your wrist and took off, the small fairies finding time to giggle as though they weren't currently held captive and you glared at them before disappearing.

You couldn't even enjoy your travel, being dragged along by Jack as he breezed through city after city with little to no regards of his company.

You arrived in the same suburban home that you passed out in, memories of Sandy and your nightmares an unpleasant feeling as you stopped Jack before he could drag you inside the room. "Hey, you okay?"

"Yeah I'm. . .fine," You mumbled, lowering yourself to their backyard as you sighed, forcing a smile. "Just. . .feeling some stuff. You go ahead, I'll try and see if I can get ahold of the others." He looks a little skeptical, but nods before flying off to the side of the house. He disappears a moment later, and you walk off.

You sat at the porch, the snow-covered dirt shuffling as you pushed it off with your feet. It was cold, and this oddly reminded you of the first time you met Pitch.

You know, not including the fact that he had literally been there since the start urging you to commit arson. No, your first run-in with Pitch-that you actually remembered-happened about fifty years after you were resurrected. It was Halloween and the annoying fuck was having the time of his life scaring the kids and causing trouble.

You wouldn't have cared had he not started bothering the nearby woodland creatures. Which he did, and that pissed you off to no end.

You confronted him about it and he just belittled you, called you names and even managed to cut down a tree just to spite you. Soon you had enough and ended up fighting him, managing to overpower him because the idiot picked a fight with the person who controlled nature in a forest. Sure it was dark and he could absolutely take you on, but the moon was bright that night and moving away leaves to make way for the light was easy.

By the end of it you had him crushed under the very same tree he cut down with light blasting at him from all directions, and it amused you when he urged you to finish the job and kill him. He said you were capable of it, and that he's seen you do it before. You never really understood what he meant until recently, and now that you did it pissed you off that you were somehow affiliated with the fuck.

"Remind you of anything, dear?" He had laughed, half of his body crushed and barely breathing, "Or does it not have enough snow and fire for it to refresh your memory?"

You only didn't finish the job because some kid had spotted the commotion. You wouldn't have cared, had the kid not talked to you specifically. That was your first time that somebody outside of Guardian status had ever seen you, so in a panic you ended up fleeing and letting Pitch go in the process.

You paused, cringing at the memory. Yeah, you never understood how you became a Guardian.

You perked up at the faint voice of Jack, cheering something about 'he can see me!' and deciding that that was a good enough time to join him.

It wouldn't do much just wallowing on some random kid's porch, seeing as you had a world to save and there would be plenty of time for that later.

"And you remember when you went flying on that sled the other day?!"

          "That was you?!"

          "That was me!!"

"Cool!" You rolled your eyes with a grin on your face, stopping right outside the window and peering in. You know, like a creep. "Right?"

From where you stood you could only see Jamie on the edge of the bed, standing and cheering at Jack that was out of your view. "But what about the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy like I meβ€”"

"Real, real!" You see Jack bending down to pick something up, a stuffed bunny now in his hold as he hands it back to the child, "Every, one of us, is real."

"And one of us is real annoying." You laughed loudly when the two turn towards you, your entrance a little less dramatic than you were hoping but dramatic enough. Jamie gasps loudly, as he should be, this was his second encounter with more than one Guardian in his room. "Cool. . !"

"Who are you talking to?" Came a muffled voice from somewhere else in the house, landing beside the white-haired male who shrugged at him, "Uhh, Jack Frost and. . .Mother. . .Nature??"

There was a pause, then a chuckle, "Okay."

Celebrations didn't last that long, a strong gust of wind and some lightning outside forming a pit in your stomach. The double windows burst open, hitting the wall and you were honestly surprised that it hadn't shattered upon impact. You go and open one as Jack opened the other, a cold gust of wind whipping at your face as you hear crashes and the sight of North's sleigh unceremoniously parking itself outside the home.

The reindeers' harness got cut off and they rushed away, ignoring the cries from North as he pushes himself up the best he could. He says something again, one hand bringing itself down and he ended up destroying even more of his sleigh and falling down from Tooth's support.

You ended up leaving the house first, your friend gasping as she points to you, "Y/N!" She jumps off the vehicle with her wings fluttering, yet nothing came of it, stumbling into your hold as you looked on in concern, "Y/N!"

"Hey, hey, are you okay? Are you hurt?" She shakes her head, about to continue but Jack settled beside you two, turning all attention to him as Tooth forces on a smile. Behind her North was leaning on his sword like a crutch, barely keeping himself up as he looks at Jack in confusion, "What are you doing here?"

"Same as you," He answers nonchalantly, moving aside to gesture to the kid who just came running. Jamie almost stumbled in the slippery driveway, a quiet gasp from his wide-eyed face as he catches sight of all the Guardians huddled up together. Not in the best shape, but enough to still warrant a look of surprise and excitement slowly rising to his face. "The last light. . ." North whispers, moving a little closer as Jamie cheers.

"Wow, it is you!" He stumbles to a stop right in front of North, "I mean it is you!" He laughs, taking his large hand and seeing how little his was in comparison. "I knew it wasn't a dream!" He spins around to look at you, then Jack, a wide smile still on his face.

"Jack. . .he sees you. . !" North laughs quietly, a mixed look of both wonder and being proud as he could only smile back. You would've appreciated the moment more, but the complete and utter lack of some Australian accented voice spewing sarcastic shit made you raise a brow, "Hey wait a sec, where's Bunny?"

"Losing Easter, took its toll on all of us," You wanted to correct that you not so much but you didn't want to be a jerk, "Bunny, most of all."

He and Tooth move way to show the wreckage that was the sleigh, before a small, fluffy bunny jumps on the edge. "Oh no. . ." You heard Jack mumble from beside you, but all you could really do is try and stop yourself from just bursting out in laughter. Bunny jumps again, nose twitching adorably as Jamie laughs. "That's the Easter Bunny?"

"Now somebody sees me!" His voice was unnatural coming from such a body that made him look like a stuffed animal walking around, each second making you lose more and more control on your laughter, "Where were you 'bout an hour ago, mate?!"

"What happened to him? He used to be huge, and cool, and now he's," Jamie pauses, turning to him to rub right under his fluffy cheek, "cute."

Bunny's feet tap against the sleigh loudly, cuddling into it as you lose and a snicker finally slips past. "Oh I'm never letting him live this down. . ." You said in between chuckles that were bleeding out, gripping onto Jack's arm as though that would somehow help. The first time you saw Bunny like this was in a photo, seeing as he was a few hundred years into being a Guardian when he first met you and you had no idea what he looked like before. He made the mistake of saying that the photo was real, and it felt like almost a million years before you finally saw this form in the flesh. And it was all worth it.

Somewhere along the way Jack had started patting your back, your coughing fit cut short as Bunny comes into view.

"Did you tell him to say that?!" He rushes over to Jack, repeatedly kicking him then backing up, paws held up like a boxer in the ring, "That's it, let's go, me and you, c'mon!"

"No, actually, he told me you were real," Jamie quickly interjects, kneeling down to his level, "Just when I started to think that maybe you weren't."

"He made you believe. . .in me?" There was a look of disbelief on his face, looking up at Jack and you could've sworn you saw tears pricking his eyes. He smiles, a genuine one that you haven't seen in so long that it unknowingly made you smile, even if it wasn't towards you. Turning back to Jack he was smiling as well, a tinge of regret stabbing your heart when you turned on him so quickly just a few hours before.

Thunder clapped and Bunny yelps, all of you turning to the massive form that blocked out the moon.

It seems pleasantries were cut short now that Pitch had made his entrance, too far away to see him but the writhing mass of black dust was enough of a clue. "Get Jamie out of here," Jack announces, clutching his weapon and flying off. "Be careful, Jack!" North tells him, before ushering the kid and you all made your way down the road.

"Don't die on me, Frost. . ." You sent one last glance before jogging after the rest of them, running through the eerily empty streets as Bunny takes the lead.

"This way, this way!" He announces, followed by a cry as he skids to a halt, "Dead end! Other way, other way!" It was a weird game of changing directions like a glitching character with the player spamming A and D, North looking like a confused grandpa as he leans on his sword and groans.

There was a small grunt, followed by thuds with each one making you cringe. A final, louder one and Jack settled on the pavement face-down, limbs sprawled and staff skidding about a feet off. Well. . .that was quick

"Jack!" Jamie calls out, following after and heaving him up whether he liked it or not. You still weren't used to how cold he was. "That was good try, Jack! A for effort!" North quickly tries to reassure, your arms still wrapped around his own as the burly man pats him.

"He's stronger. . ." He mumbles, sighing quietly as you see the kid bend down and grab his staff. He ushers it towards Jack, and that was when you realized you hadn't let go yet so you did. "I can't beat him."

You go try and say something else, but there was another clap of thunder and Pitch's annoying voice mockingly laughs loudly, a large shadow of himself looming over all of you before quickly disappearing. "All this fuss over one little boy and still he refuses to stop believing." On one truck you see a shadow but no host, Pitch riding a horse before disappearing into a wall perpendicular, "Very well. There are other ways to snuff out a light."

There was the shadow again, but only of his hand, looming over lamps on the building around you and quickly breaking them. Glass shattered and darkness overtook everything else, sighing out a huff and trying your best not to get ahead of yourself. "If you want him you're gonna have to go through me!" Bunny so confidently calls out, taking many steps forward. You saw the black mass of a shadow take form in a hand once again, a finger poking at Bunny like it was nothing, "Look at how fluffy you are," He faked a gasp, "Would you like a scratch behind the ears?"

"Quit patronizing him, dick." You called out as threateningly as you could, a pebble materializing from your hand and throwing it at the shadow as though that were any good. Even despite the situation North found a reason to elbow you lightly, the child in front of you very much a child.

"I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see you all like this. . ." Pitch once again speaks, head snapping to see about a dozen of horses huff as they approached. In the back Pitch emerges, just as cruel as ever with a wicked grin, "You
