we had situated our bags into our own rooms. momo showed us to our room first, the suite looking like something i couldn't even think to afford. it was off a small distance from the entrance and honestly looking like a house in itself.
"sorry, it's one of the smaller rooms we have available right now. i hope it's okay for all three of you." momo clasped her hands in front of her chest.
the three of us gulped and turned to face her.
"thank you, momo." we said in unison.
she smiled brightly and turned out the door, "i'm in room 362 if you need anything."
"wow, this place is huge." ochako turned around, surveying the room.
"i wonder how much bigger her other rooms are, if this is the smallest." i said.
mina clapped her hands. "alright, i think i'm going to hit the hay. imma get into the bathroom first."
ochako and i watched mina walk to the bathroom, small pouch in hand. i made my own way over to the couch in the room and laid down. ochako seemed to do the same.
"so.." she started awkwardly and i raised my head to look at her.
"are you seeing anyone?"
the question was out of nowhere that i couldn't help but laugh. her eyes widened and she looked around the room.
i sat up and crossed my legs. "no, i'm not. are you?"
she seemed surprised but cleared her throat, "no, i'm not either."
i nodded and heard water running in the bathroom. there wasn't really anything else to talk about so i continued the conversation. "well, do you like anybody?"
i felt so childish asking that question, we were literally in university already.
"well, yes.. but i don't think it would go anywhere." ochako rubbed bashfully at the back of her neck.
"oh," i didn't know what to say, "do you want to talk about it?"
she laughed and waved me off, shaking her head.
"oh, i really like your earrings." i pointed at her earrings, pink little orbs, dangling and grazing her cheeks.
"thank you! my mom gave them to me." she subconsciously touched them.
"okay! i'm done with the bathroom, if either of you want to use it." mina announces, "i'm heading to bed, see you cuties tomorrow."
ochako turns back to me once more, "do you need to use the bathroom?"
"nah, you can use it first."
the brunette nods once and then heads off.
once ochako was done, i went in to brush my teeth and wash my face. we said our goodnights and fell asleep in comfortable beds.
-
the following morning, i felt practically rejuvenated. i woke up with drool crusting up on my chin. it must've been a pretty expensive mattress i slept on, that would explain why the sleep was so good.
-
momo had plans for us practically everyday we were there. on saturday morning, she took us on a tour of the small village and took us through the shopping outlets. the girls and i were able to get some christmas shopping done, with the holiday nearing everyday.
on monday morning, she told us that her family also owned a business that ran sleigh rides. she introduced us to the reindeer before our rides and then we enjoyed the beautiful views the resort had to offer.
on tuesday, we took a small spa day. it was spent in the sauna and in face masks, staff attending and pampering us.
on wednesday, i learned that the boys i had become so acquainted with at school were arriving that day. it was actually just denki and hanta that had gotten there and they informed us that eijiro and katsuki would be getting there later in the week.
-
on thursday, the two boys i had met in the All Mighty restaurant made their appearance. the pretty, freckled boy had asked if we had gone sledding yet and in turn, that's what we did for that day.
it was interesting, to say the least. tenya kept listing off safety protocols and seemed to avoid getting in any sled. izuku stayed on top of the mountain, pushing others' sleds down for them. denki couldn't seem to keep his balance in the sleds and always ended up rolling down the mountain for the most part.
"hanta, don't laugh at me. let me sled down with you." denki whined as i brushed off the snow that stuck onto his jacket.
"no, you're probably cursed. i'll just end up tumbling down with you." hanta answered, through small laughter.
denki turned to me, "come down with me, y/n."
"don't give me those puppy eyes, kaminari." i looked him in his eyes.
he continued to stare at me and i gave up. "get in the stupid sled."
izuku pushed us down and without fail, we ended up rolling to the bottom of the hill.
-
the day after that, on friday, yet another boy arrived. the split haired boy who worked at the movie theaters.
at this point, who isn't going to show up
he seemed to be close to izuku and tenya, as well as momo.
regardless, he was an interesting addition to our group. friday was a pretty laid back day, the only event being stargazing on the lodge's roof. we talked about class at Yuuei and about ourselves. talk of a ball came up.
"momo, are your parents still hosting that ball next week?" tooru asked.
"oh, yeah. it's still a bit formal but the music changes from ballroom stuff to more modern stuff around 11."
"nice, we should go shopping for our outfits then." denki says.
"i can have us escorted to the shopping district for more fancier clothing." momo offered.
"sounds good." the group agreed.
-
on saturday, most of the group slept in. mina and i headed out by ourselves to buy accessories for the ball.
"what color are you thinking of wearing, mina?" i questioned, admiring the pretty jewelry in the glass cases.
"hmm, well, i already wore pink back at momo's halloween party but it's kind of my color, you know?" she glanced up at her hair, pink.
i smiled, "good point. i think you might look good in turquoise or something like that."
mina seemed to think about it. "yeah, maybe. but what about you? what color do you plan on wearing?"
"i'm not sure yet, like you said, i already wore purple at momo's thing so probably not that."
"we'll figure something out later, yeah?"
"yeah."
-
it had been a week since we had arrived at the lodge and i honestly think my face was permanently numb at this point.
the cold didn't seem to bother us anymore, it never seemed to bother shouto in the first place, and we were all having fun.
it seemed like a good bonding experience and i was able to meet even more people studying at Yuuei.
everything had been going smoothly..
-
sunday morning, katsuki and eijiro had finally gotten to the resort.
they had met us in the dining area of the lodge after settling down in their own rooms.
"good morning, boys!" mina called and waved the boys over to our table.
it was only mina, denki, hanta and i eating breakfast that morning. the others had gone off to check out the ice skating rink.
the soft, redhead greeted everyone warmly, much in contrast to the cold.
the cold, blond however could only grunt in acknowledgement.
"did you guys already have breakfast?" i asked, scooting over for katsuki to sit next to me.
"nope," eijiro popped the p, "what are you guys having?"
we showed our plates to the boy and he plucked an orange slice off of hanta's plate.
"here, i'll help you get a plate." i got up from my seat. "do you want anything, katsuki?"
"yes, please." the red eyed boy grumbled.
and denki teased. "ooooh, so he does have manners."
eijiro and i walked away, blond on blond crime unfolding behind us.
-
following breakfast, we made our way to the skating rink much to katsuki's dismay.
"baku, it's like you can't skate or something." denki laughed and then stopped at katsuki silence.
"oh my god, you can't, can you?" he realized.
denki was about to bust into a fit of laughter before katsuki smacked him on the head. "shut the fuck up, dunce face."
"we could get someone to teach you, bakubro, don't worry." eijiro offered a soft smile. katsuki huffed but didn't complain.
we made it and the breeze coming off the ice brushed our faces. we bought our tickets and rented our skates.
getting onto the ice was harder for some in the group.
"baku, hurry up."
"i'm going as fast as i can, ratfuck."
-
on monday, mina and i rejoined the other girls. the boys were all achy and whiny about the bruises they had acquired during ice skating, none of them any better than katsuki.
momo had insisted on having the girls take a ballroom class, in preparation for the ball. we were all excited as we sat in the limousine escorting us to the ballroom.
there were two staff instructing and teaching us counts. momo danced with one, demonstrating how it was done. as her music came to a close, we all clapped for her.
"alright, shall we get started?"
to say the least, it was fun. counting out loud with one another, the occasional mistake of stepping on each other's toes and apologizing, and the reward of being able to glide gracefully across the room.
"woohoo!" ochako and tooru cheered.
we were sitting down on the marble floor, cool against our sweaty skin.
"we are so gonna own this ball"
the group bursted out laughing.
-
the following day, we made a trip up to "fancier" boutiques, as momo put it.
the day consisted of store hopping, looking for dresses and jewelry. in every store, we hosted a fashion show of sorts. the excitement of seeing everyone in dazzling dresses feeding us.
at the end of the day, we had all bought our dresses.
momo simply adored an auburn gown with a tulle, sequined bodice. the lacey fabric ran past her ankles and she bought black stilettos to pair with the dress.
tooru had her eyes set on a baby blue dress, small diamonds sewn sewn into layers in the dress. the color of the dress complimented her skin and she had completely fallen in love with it.
mina was ecstatic about finding a dress that compliment her personality in the best way. the dress was indeed turquoise ,like i had suggested, but there was purple splotches of a leopard print designed into the skirt. she had found a beige fur coat to go with it. mina's fashion taste never failed to surprise me.
ochako gravitated towards a bubblegum pink gown. the bodice had darker pink ruffles and the straps were off the shoulder. she paired the dress with laced up heels.
kyoka decided on wearing a black dress, with a layer of purple lace underneath. she had found interesting earrings to match with the dress, yellow thunderbolts which she paired with a yellow citrine choker.
tsuyu's dress was my favorite. it had a simple, forest green skirt and a cream bodice decorated with lilies and other small flowers. she paired cream, elbow length gloves with it.
my dress was a simple white dress, tulle fabric draped over it making it appear gold. the top was decorated with small jewels and the sleeves ran up to my wrists, falling off the shoulders and leaving my collarbones exposed. the skirt was puffed slightly and mina insisted i buy silver heels to go with it.
we ate at a restaurant near the shops and finally head home with our wallets empty but our stomachs full.
-
the ball was on friday and the boys were yet to buy anything for the ball. katsuki had slammed the door in our face when we showed up to ask if he wanted to come shopping with us.
we went on our merry way and ended up back at the boutiques. the boys just rented basic suits.
denki and hanta agreed on matching, obnoxious yellow suits.
"those are so hideous to look at." mina gagged and rolled her eyes at the boys.
"uh, says the one with a leopard print dress!" denki defended with a bruised ego.
"hmph, it's cute and you know it. good luck having anyone dance with you." mina shook her head.
inspired by the yellow suited boys, eijiro got a red suit. it was easier on the eyes than the others.
"i wonder what the others are buying.." i prompted.
"we can ask once we get back to the lodge."
so we did just that. izuku had shown off a cute, black blazer. he paired it over a white collared dress shirt and got matching black gloves with it. shouto decided on a plain, white suit but bought a blue and red bowtie. tenya was most excited about his, going on about cool details about the navy blue outfit. it was every endearing to listen to tenya talk about things.
-
the ball was tomorrow and the day was spent relaxing. mina suggested try out the girls' hair and makeup so we just hung our in our room. momo also helped with it, something about an internship she took before.
once we were pleased with our looks, we were able to sit and talk.
we watched the sunset and bid our until tomorrow's, settling into bed with our nerves buzzing for the ball.
