tw: there are mentions of drinking in this chapter !
we were one our way to the party in two different cars. the group explained this was because half of the time, katsuki leaves parties early and then leaves the rest stranded to call a uber or ask for a ride. they said they had learned the hard way.
mina and denki were riding with me in my car while sero and eijiro rode in katsuki's. we were following the directions announced by the robot voice of the gps and soon enough, we were pulling into a huge parking lot of an expensive looking house; the house had to be about three stories tall. there was already multiple cars parked in the lot but luckily, we were able to find a spot.
"this house is fucking huge!" denki exclaimed, hopping out of the backseat and out into the night.
mina and i followed the electric boy and met up with the rest of the gang. mina offered to hold my keys, seeing as i had no pockets and she was the one carrying a small transparent purse. i handed them to her as we entered the house. they were almost instantly met with heavy, loud music. while some loud rap song was playing in the back, mina was guiding us to find the hostess because "you have to thank them when you get to the party and before you leave".
the hostess turned out to be a gorgeous, dark haired girl. she was sporting a high ponytail and dressed in a tight black dress that draped to her ankles. there was a thigh slit running up to her midthigh and the neckline dipped above her belly button. flushing, i tried to maintain eye contact with her.
"momo! thank you so much for inviting us!" mina shouted over the music, hugging the pretty girl.
"of course! i'm so glad you were able to make it." she said and turned to us.
mina introduced us to momo and then we continued into a kitchen.
"to forgetting and bad decisions!" mina shouted over the rapping, raising a shot glass.
we all raised our own glasses and downed the liquid. a new song started up with a growl.
"ah! let's go dance!" mina bounced, pushing her bag into eijiro's hands. she dragged me and sero away towards a large mass of dancing bodies.
we settled on the outside of the group and started dancing. as a dance major, mina was able to slip easily into the rhythm of the song. she laughed and pulled me against her, our bodies flushed together. sero followed along and came closer, sandwiching me between the two. the three of us were actually very good at dancing together, it was easy to pick up on each other's rhythm and build on it. most of the song was sharp hip movements but a good introduction to the buzzing energy of the bodies surrounding me.
the rest of the gang found us as the song came to an end, a new one starting up with a female rapper opening.
"where were you guys?" i shouted over the music, trumpets chorusing.
"we were finding a place to set down our things." eijiro answered, leaning into my space to whisper in my ear.
i nodded and we all continued dancing. the song seemed like a collab with multiple rappers singing. adlibs filled the air and mina and sero sang some lyrics out loud. at the end of the song, the boys seemed winded.
"i don't know how you guys do it." denki huffed, out of breathe. "i'm tapping out."
the others grumbled in unison and followed denki off of the floor. mina slung her arm over my shoulder and laughed. the next song started up and we remained on the floor. a saxophone played and a repeated chorus allowed me and mina to fall into a rhythm. when the first verse came, it slowed the pace and allowed for playful grinding. mina giggled close to my ear, warm breathe sending a shiver down my exposed back.
somehow, at the end of that song, mina and i had made our way further into the middle of the dance floor. there was definitely more attention on us here and mina seemed to feed on it.
"let's give the people a show, yeah?" she purred, her adrenaline probably higher than the house we were in.
i nodded, getting drunk off of her energy. mina moved her hips to the rhythm of the song and i followed her lead. it was a playful song, suggestive spanish lyrics and moaning adlibs adding to the atmosphere. we turned a few times, just genuinely enjoying ourselves. halfway through the song, two other boys joined us. mina moved towards a white haired boy, hair looking silver under the party's lighting. he whispered something into mina's ear causing her to throw her head back, laughing. he smiled down at her, revealing sharp canines. i joined his partner, a pretty blond with grey eyes.
"that's a pretty dress you got on, sweetheart." he breathed into my ear, causing our bodies to connect closer.
"thank you." i whispered back, throwing my hands over his shoulders. i interlaced my fingers behind his head and a slow, sensual song began.
the blond brought his hands up to my lower back and pressed up against each other. he slipped his thigh between mine and when the song's instrumental started, we moved in sync. the shot from earlier buzzed in my veins. i threw my head back and closed my eyes. i spun in his grasp, turning my back to him. his hands came up to rest on my hips, but i did most of the guiding.
when i opened my eyes again, i noticed mina was now the one sandwiched between eijiro and the silver haired boy, who seemed to be having a staring contest. she seemed to be enjoying herself too much.
but then i noticed an angry blond approaching me, and before i understood what was happening, he slipped his arm under my transparent cardigan and snaked his arm around my waist. katsuki pulled me against him and growled at the other blond behind me.
"bakugou." he greeted, honeyed voice.
"monoma." katsuki spit. thanks to my current position, i felt the words vibrate in his chest.
the boy, now monoma?, pulled his hands away and went away. katsuki's scowl, however, didn't.
"i'm not some sort of doll to be tossed around, you know?" i grumbled, my mood spoiled.
"shut the fuck up, fuck face." katsuki ordered and i tried to push him away but his hand was still around my waist and made it impossible.
"i need to ask you something." he stated, glancing down at me.
"what?"
"you and that purple haired freak of yours, you guys used to be childhood friends right?" he said, song coming to an end.
'so much for forgetting shinso tonight.'
"i'm not standing here like an idiot. either dance or leave, katsuki." i prompted. he glared down at me but sure enough, started moving at the beginning of the song starting up.
"okay, i dance and you talk." he proposed.
"fine." katsuki seemed to be a promising dancer. "no, shinso and i weren't childhood friends. we literally bullied each other."
katsuki hummed, grabbing my hand and holding it up in the air. i took the hint and rolled my hips, spinning in a circle.
"but you guys are okay, now?" he asked once i faced him again.
"yeah, we were. i think. i don't know." i pushed my hands against his chest. "this isn't really something i wanted to talk about today, katsuki."
i wiggled out of his grasp and shoot a look over at mina. our eyes meet and she waves me over to her. "are you heading off the floor?"
i nod my head and she shrugs her fur coat off. "take this for me, please."
i take her coat and head off the floor, katsuki following me.
i walk into another kitchen, taking two shot glasses in one hand and holding mina's coat in the other. katsuki stands next to me and i shove the coat into his hands, handing him one of the glasses.
"why are you asking these questions?" i asked, downing the drink and grimacing.
katsuki looks ready to cuss me out but then his gaze drops to the glass in his arm. "there's this friend i used to have... and i was just wondering if there was a chance i could fix things between us."
he placed the shot down and i rack my brain for a name.
"izuku?" i asked. katsuki looking at me, blanched.
"how did you know?"
i laugh softly, "i'm not fucking stupid, you know."
i pushed my shoulder against his. "he seems like a good kid. and if you really want to fix things with him, you need to talk to him. there's no harm in trying."
he considered it and smiled softly at me. "yeah, okay. thanks."
"of course," i pushed a finger into his chest. "but if you come between me and a possible lay for tonight, i'll fuck your shit up."
he raised his eyebrows but then waved me off, walking away to who knows where.
i shrugged off my cardigan, took two more shots and then head off to the dance floor once more. a song had end, a springy one taking its place once i found a good spot on the floor.
my vision felt fuzzy from the alcohol in my system but i closed my eyes. new found confidence with said alcohol, i started dancing by myself. i swayed with the music and let my hands roam up my body, letting them rest over my head.
the whispered chorus picked up and a body placed itself behind me.
'can i be left alone for one fucking minute?'
i groaned but turned to face said body. i was met with a broad chest and when i glanced up, i saw soft brown eyes. the boy was pretty so there wasn't much to complain about. his hair was disheveled and i had a sudden urge to run my hands through it. so i did. i let my hands find purchase in his dark brown curls and pressed myself against him.
he chuckled and placed his hands on the exposed portion of my back. his hands were rough and i flinched at the coldness of them.
my hands dropped to grab onto his biceps, surprised at the muscle i found there. he took his as a sign to drop his own hands lower, resting them on my ass.
they felt out of place and i wanted to move them up. so i did.
wait, no i didn't
the boy's hands had moved themselves. or at least i thought until i felt another body behind me. this one, however, kept their distance and didn't pull me or press against me.
"i got to her first." the brunette stated.
"move." the other voice spoke.
the brunette hovered but then clicked his tongue and retrieved.
one more fucking time, i turned to face this new person, head spinning with all the turning i was doing. i groaned and closed my eyes, the music faded. i stumbled against the other boy, his hands coming up to catch my arms and keep me from tipping over.
"are you drunk?" he questioned, amusement under his words.
"what's it to you?" i answered, eyes still closed.
the boy didn't respond and he stayed there, unmoving.
i moved to open my eyes and peer up at him when he suddenly pushed me against him.
'so the gentleman facade ends'
"so are we going to dance?" i ask, wondering if he would hear me over the music.
he took a moment. "just one song, okay?" he sighed, the ghost of lips brushing my exposed collarbone.
and sure enough, he began to sway. i hummed and let my eyes close. the boy wasn't touching me, it was just me flush against him, i could easily move away if i wanted to.
testing that theory, i stepped back. a hand came up to my hip, guiding me back against the body. it was soft and didn't hunt for revealed skin like the others had.
i decided i liked this one and let myself move to the music.
once i could get my head to stop hurting, i turned my back to the boy, wanting to see just how far i could push this.
"purple's a good color on you." he whispered and stayed close to my shoulder.
"touch me." i muttered. i didn't mean anything sexual by it, i just wanted to see.
the boy brought a hand up to rest on my hip, but that was the most he did.
i turned my head to the side, eyes closed. "kiss me."
i felt the boy tense up behind me. "not here."
i hummed, so he doesn't want it to be public.
"then where?"
"l/n." the boy said seriously, song coming to an end.
'l/n?'
'oh my god.'
i pushed myself off of shinso, feeling hurt. i turned to face him.
"l/n," he lifted his hand but then dropped it. "let me explain."
tears pricked at my eyes, the alcohol making me more sensitive than usual. "explain what? how you want to ghost me for nine days and then show up excepting me to be okay with dancing with you?"
he stepped towards me and i stepped back. "go dance with somebody else."
i stumbled off the floor and went looking for any one of my friends. after searching for a few minutes, i head into a kitchen. there were a few people in there doing body shots. i moved passed them and picked up a red cup, filling it with punch.
i downed it as quickly as possible and stuck my tongue out in disgust.
"you okay, sweetheart?" one of the girls asked.
i debated on saying no but instead nodded and picked up a bottle and pouring it's contents into my empty cup.
i wandered around, sipping from the cup occasionally. i had found some stairs to sit on and watching everyone who passed by, hoping one of them would be somebody i knew.
my vision became blurry and my head started to hurt. i rested my arms on my knees and buried my face in my hands.
"there you are." i heard someone mutter.
i squinted up at the voice and saw a blob of lilac hair.
"hey, you look like someone i know." i pointed at them.
their face contorted, confused.
"are you okay?" the boy asked.
i hummed. "what's your name?"
"what?"
i furrowed my brow. "what's. your. name."
the stranger pressed their pretty lips together. "hitoshi"
"well, hitoshi, you remind me a lot of someone i know. they're pretty like you are and they even have the same hair that you do."
"what a small world." hitoshi mumbled.
hitoshi peered down at me. "what are you doing on the stairs?"
"i'm looking for my friends."
"on the stairs?"
i huffed. "no! i already looked for them and now, i'm hoping i see them walk by."
"oh," hitoshi nodded, "okay, i'll sit here and help you look for them too."
"okay."
the slitting headache from earlier made a comeback, causing me to gasp and rub at my temples.
hitoshi turned to me, panic apparent on his face. "what's wrong? are you okay?"
"my head hurts."
"stay here, okay? i'm going to get you some water. don't move." hitoshi got up and disappeared into the crowd.
'i wanna lay down'
i got up and made my way slowly up the stairs. i wandered down the hall opening a few doors. i opened a closet door and saw that it was empty but it was clean and dark. so i sat down on the floor and closed the door behind me.
it was a pretty roomy closet and i was able to curl up on the carpet. i was laying on the floor for a while before anyone came to find me.
the door creaked open, letting the light from
the hallway streaming into the closet. "l/n?"
i propped myself up on my elbows and blinked at the figure at the door.
"hitoshi?"
"i thought i told you not to move." he said, squatting in front of me.
"i wanted to lay down." i explained.
hitoshi hummed and handed me a water bottle. "drink this, it'll help you sober up."
i crinkled my nose but took the bottle from him, trying to twist the cap off.
he saw me struggling and took the bottle back, twist the cap off effortlessly. he handed it back to me and i thanked him.
i sat up, scooted over and patted the spot next to me. hitoshi seemed to contemplate sitting down. after a moment, he squeezed in and closed the door behind him.
darkness enveloped us and i closed my eyes, resting my head against the wall behind me.
"l/n?"
i hummed.
"nevermind."
"hitoshi, can i lay my head on your shoulder?"
"yeah, sure."
i dropped my head to his shoulder, his jacket's material brushing my cheek.
"you should probably go home, l/n." hitoshi told me.
"i'm tired."
"if you go home, you can sleep."
"i don't know where my friends are."
hitoshi got quiet again.
"hitoshi?"
"yeah?"
"do you think i'm pretty?"
hitoshi swallowed thickly. "why do you ask that?"
"my friend, the one i told you you look like, wouldn't touch me." i explained. "or kiss me."
"is it because he thinks i'm ugly?"
"i don't think so."
"he also didn't reach out for a week, why would he do that?"
hitoshi thought for a moment. "i think you just need to ask him."
i thought about it. "what if he doesn't answer my calls or texts, again?"
"don't worry, he'll answer."
"okay."
...
"hitoshi?"
"yeah?"
"do you think i'm pretty?"
"yeah."
"would you kiss me?"
"..."
i sighed. "so you wouldn't?"
"not here, not like this." he answered.
"why not?"
"you're drunk, i'd be taking advantage of you." he explained. "you won't even remember."
"i need you to remember." he whispered to himself.
i remained quiet.
"i'm tired."
"let's go find your friends?"
"okay."
-
the next morning i woke up with a pounding headache. the taste of something disgusting lingered in my mouth. i crawled out of bed and went to brush my teeth.
i was still in my dress from last night. i ransacked some of my drawers for clean sweats and a tank top. i stripped out of last night's clothes and changed.
"mina!" i shouted and winced at my own loudness. i walked barefoot into the kitchen and looked for mina.
i walked back towards her room and knocked before opening the door. sure enough, mina was passed out on her bed.
i smiled softly, closing the door behind me and headed back to the kitchen. i looked through our stuff for some aspirin and took a two. i set some aside for mina and a glass of water.
i made breakfast and plated some for myself. i ate in silence, the food and aspirin helping my headache.
once i was done eating and in the process of washing my dishes, mina hobbled out of her room.
"ugh, do we have aspirin?" mina asked.
i pointed to the ones i had set out for her and the glass of water and she blew me a kiss.
mina groaned again. "i'm going back to bed."
"okay." i replied.
"wait," mina stopped and spun back to face me, "call shinso."
my stomach dropped and i turned to face her. "what?"
"yeah. he was the one who helped us find you last night." mina nodded. "oh, and he handed me your pictures. i'll grab 'em from my room right now."
"wait, he was at the party last night?" this being news to me.
"uh, yeah.." mina raised an eyebrow. "you were literally dancing with him."
i racked my brain, looking for a memory of any of this happening.
then i remembered. i had been dancing with some brunette when he came. and then i got drunk and...
shit, i can't remember past that
i hadn't noticed mina had left but she returned with my project pictures.
"call him, okay? mina asked, urgently but softly.
"okay."
