💌 | the final chapter...!

It's finally the day of the awaited Bayview Four meet-up. They were meeting at a local bar. It wasn't too special, but it was where they went after Nate proposed to Bronwyn, which meant they had a lot of memories there.

Bronwyn and Nate were the first to arrive. They got a booth and sat down, ordering their own drinks. They left Lori and Jase at home with their two kids, and for the first time on one of their outings, Bronwyn hadn't mentioned being worried about them.

"Are you excited to see the others?" Bronwyn asks, taking a sip of her drink.

"Yeah, I am. It's been ages since we've last seen them. I'm really excited to see Addy's surprise."

"Ooh, yeah. What do you think it is?"

"It could be anything, honestly—" Nate stops talking when the door opens.

Cooper walks in, his face neutral. When he sees the two of them, his face lights up and he strides over. He sits down and orders a beer. "Nate, Bronwyn! Oh my God it's so good to see you two!"

Bronwyn, sitting next to Cooper, hugs him. "It's great to see you too!"

Nate high-fives him, laughing as it takes them four attempts for the perfect high-five. Cooper takes a gulp of his beer, then sets it down. "So how've you two been?"

Bronwyn grins. "Oh we've been great! Jase and Lori are so much fun to take care of. What about you? What happened to mystery man Lucas?"

Cooper laughs shyly, his face slowly turning red. "We're dating."

Nate feigns surprise. "And you didn't tell us sooner?!"

"I'm sorry! It was really quick, and I honestly wasn't expecting it."

"Wasn't expecting what?"

"Oh, hey Addy. I wasn't expecting Lucas and I to start dating— WAIT, HI ADDY!" Cooper nonchalantly greets Addy as she sits down, then realises.

Addy laughs. "Hey guys!"

Bronwyn grins and Nate rubs her shoulders. "Hey Addy!"

"Alexa, darling! Come here!" Addy calls, looking in the direction of the toilets.

A small girl comes out, looking scared. She walks over to the table and Addy hoists her up onto her lap. "Everyone, this is my daughter, Alexa!"

Everyone immediately falls in love, cooing and introducing themselves to her. None of them are disappointed with Addy's surprise.

As the night wears on, they all have a lot of fun, reminiscing about old memories, and talking about new ones. They catch up on careers, parents, children and loved ones.

It's a great night, really. But of course, they start to get tired. Cooper sadly, has to leave as he has a big day tomorrow. Addy leaves too because Alexa gets tired. Nate and Bronwyn leave because Jase and Lori need them.

As the group stands up, they give each other one last goodbye.

Bronwyn finds herself tearing up as she says by to Addy. "Why am I crying? This isn't the last time we'll see each other." She sniffles.

"About that. I'm moving to Canada." Cooper pipes up.

"What?" They all exclaim.

"My baseball career is moving me to Canada. I'm so sorry I didn't tell you guys sooner... I was really dreading it."

"Lucas is okay with it?" Addy asks.

"Yeah... he's actually Canadian."

"Ah, Cooper." Nate sighs, hugging him. "I'll miss you, bro."

Cooper murmurs the same thing back as they gather for a group hug.

"Well, we'll see each other again. No matter what." Cooper says with optimism.

They leave the bar, and head their separate ways.

It's been about two years, and they haven't met up since. Who knows. Maybe in the future, they'll finally see each other one, last, time.
