Chanhee sat across the table of as beautiful girl. Her eyes were big, her lips were plump, her jaw was sharp, and her nose was well-defined.

Chanhee started the conversation, "What's your favorite food?"

"I like pasta." The girl answered with a shining smile. Her smile was glowing, but he didn't like it. He shook his head slightly so she doesm't notice.

"What about your favorite vegetable?" He asked.

"I actually like tomatoes-"

Chanhee wiped his lips and left the table, cutting her off. Heerin widened her eyes and stood in front of the exit to stop him.

"Why are you stopping me?" Chanhee asked.

"Well she's the opposite of you isn't she?" Heerin used her head to point at the girl who sat across Chanhee.

"I don't get why we are here though." Chanhee scoffed. "She like tomatoes!"

"But I like tomatoes too. Why aren't you throwing me away?" Heerin asked, tilting her head.

"You're an exception."

"Then you can make an exception for her too." Heerin shrugged.

"Look at her finger Heerin. I'm sure you can see her string. It's not cut. It's a long growing string." Heerin looked over to the girl's pinky. He was right. Long strings meant a long relationship. She wondered why her string wasn't long. She sighed.

"You're right. Just go back and apologize then we'll get going." Heerin sighed and walked out the restaurant.

Chanhee bowed, "I'm sorry. I don't think we can date, but I know you'll definitely find your loved one. I promise you that your soulmate will love you much. I paid the bill in advance so continue eating." Chanhee bowed and left.

Chanhee threw his head back, "This is soo tiring! How many do we have to do now?"

Heerin pinched his cheek, "Don't act like a baby. You don't have anymore for today."

"But how did you know I can see other people's strings?" Heerin asked.

"How else would you know that I need to go through all these things instead of just following the string?"

"Well maybe you're just lazy?"

Chanhee snickered and slightly pushed her head.

"Ow what was that for!"

"For being stupid." Chanhee stook his tongue out. Heerin rolled her eyes and stopped in her trail.

"What?" Chanhee asked and looked at her. Her eyes sparkled and she ran into a bakery.

Chanhee slightly smiled and followed her.

"Can I have this cake?" Heerin asked the worker. They smiled and nodded. They then took the cake out and put it in a box. Heerin took out her wallet but Chanhee pushed it down and took out his own wallet.

"This will be 40,000 won." Chanhee paid it and walked out with a happy Heerin.

"My wallet is in spain but the s is silent.." Chanhee muttered to himself.

Heerin cut slices and smiled. She placed candles on the cake and lit them up. She folded her hands and smiled and sang happy birthday. Chanhee stared at her, confusingly.

Heerin then blew out the candles and smiled. "Today is mine and my mom's birthday." She sliced the cake and put it on three plates. She placed one on the seat beside her.

"How come you're not celebrating with your mom?" Chanhee was confused.

"I ran away.. She told me I should just let this string disappear and find a new soulmate. I started to think if I should really do that, but then it felt as if my soulmate spoke to me. I love my mom, but I want to prove her wrong." Heerin weakly smiled. There was a silemce. Chanhee couldn't say anything because he was speechless.

"Happy birthday," Chanhee slightly smiled, "I wish I could get you a present but all I did was buy a cake and didn't even know your birthday."

"Your presence is good enough. Usually only my mom and dad celebrate with me but they're not here," Heerin bitterly smiled. She exhaled in relief, "But I figure that this is the right way to do it. I will find your soulmate and then find mine."

Chanhee stared at her. Unlike him, she was optimistic. She had hopes and dreams but all he saw in his life was part time jobs to death.

"Don't you think this is the right way to?" Heeri asked with a smile plastered on her face. He smiled and nodded. They spent the rest of their time happily with smiles, laughters, and chatter.
