NELSON HAD INVITED elyse over to his house, so that she could watch his game. this time, he wasn't playing for rod wave elite, he was playing for JL3, his previous aau team.

they were both hanging out upstairs in nelson's room. nelson was preparing his basketball bag, while elyse was sitting on his bed watching a movie.

"kids! c'mon, it's time to go!" cassie yelled from downstairs. dallas was a couple hours away from houston which was where his aau tournament would be, so they prepared for a long drive.

"we're coming mom!" nelson yelled throwing his backpack over his arms as elyse got up and shut off the tv.

they all arrived in the car. elyse was in the middle seat with nelson and niles on both sides of her. spencer was driving and cassie was in the passenger seat. noah wasn't able to go because he was hanging out with friends that day.

elyse took out her airpods, gave one to nelson, and turned on their mixed spotify playlist while conversing with the two boys next to her. the three eventually got bored and started scrolling on their phones.

halfway through the drive, they all were beginning to feel a bit weary, and gradually fell asleep. niles' head was laying on elyse's shoulder, elyse was laying on nelson's shoulder, and nelson was leaned against the car door with his arm around elyse.

"aww how cute!" cassie exclaimed snapping a picture to send to elyse's parents.

THEY ARRIVED TO THE gymnasium earlier than expected. niles woke up 10 minutes before they arrived leaving the two all cuddled up on each other.

a couple minutes before they arrived...

"what the heck?!" niles said sleepily looking at elyse and nelson.

"what is it honey? are you okay?" cassie asked turning around confused and a bit confused.

"what's going on with them?" he said pointing at the two with a confused and disgusted expression on his face.

"just... leave them alone. they look comfortable" cassie sighed admiring the teens sleeping behind her.

"hey niles are they still sleeping?" spencer asked as they parked. "maybe we can go inside and come get them when it's time for nelson's game."

"yeah they're both still sleeping. come on, i wanna watch the other games!" niles spoke opening up the car door excitedly.

they all exited leaving the two sleeping in the back row.

nelson woke up and noticed that elyse was still sleeping. he admired her while he adjusted to the light around him. he started scrolling through his phone, but he thought it would be a funny idea to take selfies with the sleeping girl. he took countless 0.5s of her and got scared everytime she stirred in her sleep.

she eventually woke up a couple minutes later due to the noise coming from the video on nelson's phone and his giggling.

she started rubbing her eyes while still laying her head on his shoulder.

"hey ellie, how was your nap?" nelson asked putting his phone down.

"mmm good" she mumbled. she sat up realizing that she was laying on his shoulder. "oh sorry! i hope i didn't make you uncomfortable!"

"nonono it's alright!" nelson answered reassuringly immediately noticing the nervousness in her voice. they then started hearing a familiar voice outside their car.

"yo who is that?" nelson questioned as he heard the voice closer to the car. they both looked through the window and saw cam and ray filming.

"shit what should we do this time?" nelson panicked.

doing something weird before cam opened the door was always something that the two liked to do. they found it so funny when the door opened to cam's weirded out expression.

they waited for cam to turn to the door and reach for the handle.

"quick, quick, quick!" nelson said cupping elyse's cheek as he saw cam reach for the door handle.

"what?!" elyse panicked as she saw him lean in.

"this is getting a bit too serious. what type of idea is this?" elyse thought nervously, internally making a confused and weirded out face. suddenly cam opened the door. "look who the fuck i just found!"

"YO WHAT THE FUCK ARE YALL DOING?!" cam shrieked as they pulled back quickly. you could probably hear his yell from the other side of the parking lot.

nelson turned around smiling at the camera as ray showed elyse smiling inside. ray had an appalled look on his face and looked back in forth from cam to the two teenagers.

"yall get the fuck out of the car." cam said expressing his disappointment on his face.

"what the fuck!" elyse exclaimed. they both crawled out of the car with their cheeks tinted pink.

"how'd he find me?!" nelson asked the camera. elyse stood next to him silently while trying not to laugh and examined where they were. she saw lavar watching them from a car away laughing at them.

"what the fuck was that? where yall making- what the fuck is this!?" cam asked the two before pointing at nelson's jersey. he seemed more shocked that nelson had on a different team's jersey.

"my jersey?" nelson stated making elyse let out a small chuckle before meeting eyes with cam who was giving her the death stare.

"oh so you think this shit is funny?" cam interrogated as elyse pressed her mouth into a straight line while looking straight ahead, avoiding any eye contact.

"alright. nelson, since when do you play for J3L elite?!" cam stuttered.

"okay first of all, it's JL3-""i dont give a fuck! when the fuck did you start playing with them?" cam scolded cutting nelson off.

elyse got tired of listening to cams voice so she just zoned out and leaned against the car while playing with her hoodie string. or should i say nelson's?

cam's yelling snapped her out of her trance. she looked around and saw that cam's other player was also playing for another team. she couldn't help but laugh at his team's name though. blue chips?!

while cam was yelling at both players, elyse slipped away to talk to lavar. she has gotten close to lavar too. they had a brother and sister bond.

"hey so i saw you and nelson in that car. and i recognize this hoodie." lavar stated with a smirk on his face.

"we weren't doing anything, i swear!" elyse exclaimed. "and i got cold and forgot a sweater..."

"mhm sure" lavar smirked continuing to watch cam scold the two teammates.

cam then pointed over to lavar using him as an example for a loyal player when he saw elyse standing next to him too.

"yo, get your ass back here im am not done yet" he said pointing over to elyse.

elyse rolled her eyes but walked back next to nelson taking her phone out her hand and watching tiktok until cam was done yelling.

while she was scrolling, nelson then grabbed her hand and walked away with her.

"this is why i left the team bro..." nelson said walking away into the gym. the camera zoomed in and both elyse and nelson flipped cam and the camera off.

"what the fuck? did they just flip me the fuck off?" cam asked the camera.

next thing they knew, lavar was picking both of them up one in each arm.

"yo put us down!" elyse said slapping his back.

"what the fuck when did you get so strong?!" nelson exclaimed.

ONCE NELSON finished his games, they went back to his house. elyse and nelson both went to hangout in his room before caine went to come pick her up.

"hey you did really good today!" elyse said a quietly with a small smile on her face.

"oh thanks" nelson replied blushing a little bit.

ever since what happened earlier that day, they've been awkward and shy, which was weird considering they had the elite friendship.

they were both thinking about what happened inside the car before cam opened the door.

"why did i do that? does she even feel the same way i feel about her?"

"was that just a joke? does he feel the way i feel about him?"
