NELSON AND ELYSE had just started the live and all his followers started flooding in.

"guys look who im with!" nelson said with his mouth wide open as he put his arm around her shoulder.

elyse smiled at the camera sarcastically with her mouth closed.

"alright, so anyways, do you wanna tell them how we like met up today?" nelson asked her.

"sure! okay, so yall know how i've been talking about my brother's tournament? turns out the first game was against nelson's team, so-" "and they got cooked" nelson interrupted.

"would you let me finish?" elyse said sternly as she looked at him with an annoyed face.

"yes ma'am" he said stifling his laughter.

"ANYWAYS as i was saying, this hangout thing wasn't planned we just kind of ran into each other. we also 1v1'd during half time, and i cooked him, so i really hope someone recorded that" elyse said proudly.

"i was going easy on you" nelson said sassily as he rolled his eyes.

"sure buddy, sure" elyse chuckled.

"guys you needa see how short el is" nelson said sitting up straight with his chin high to make it seem like they had a 'big' height difference.

elyse tried not to blush from her new nickname, but still ended up blushing anyway.

"bro you're only like two inches taller than me." elyse said with a "you're joking" facial expression.

"yall look at how red she is right now" lavar said walking over and pointing at elyse.

"bro shut the fuck up" elyse remarked.

ray, the cameraman, also walked past them and said "nelson's just picking on her cause he's not the shortest for once". nelson side eyed him before snapping back.

"i don't remember fucking asking" nelson said looking at him.

"yeah whatever" ray yelled back.

THEY SOON ENDED the live due to the fact that cam was finished talking with her parents. elyse's parents allowed nelson to carpool with them on the way to the mall.

they listened to sza during the car ride and were both singing their hearts out. they weren't the best singers, but they put everyone else in the car in a singing mood.

"guys meet us back here at 4:15, alright? text me if you need anything." lina told the two before kissing her daughter's forehead.

"got it mom." elyse mumbled before walking away with nelson.

"let's get food first" nelson said.

"you're a fatass" elyse laughed as he side eyed her which made her laugh even more.

they both ordered something from chipotle. elyse got a burrito bowl and nelson got a burrito. they found a table in the food court and sat next to each other.

as they were eating, two boys around their age approached them.

"hey you're nelson right? could i get a pic?" one boy asked.

"yeah for sure man." he replied wiping his face with a napkin. the boy took a selfie with nelson before going on to thank him.

"hey elyse could i get your snap?" the other boy asked her trying to give her his phone with snapchat opened on it.

elyse choked on her food a bit being totally caught off guard by that question. when she was going to respond, she felt an arm wrap around her shoulder.

"sorry man she's not interested" nelson said extending his arm to reject the phone in the boy's hand.

the boy gave nelson a "what the fuck?" look and walked away with his friend.

"what was that?" elyse said as she sipped her water.

"what do you mean? are you okay though?" nelson asked her.

"i know how to reject boys, but im fine now thanks for asking." elyse reassured.

"no problem el." nelson responded ignoring the first part in her sentence.

they soon finished their meal and began walking around the mall. elyse wanted to look around in the stores, nelson following her around like a lost puppy.

AFTER A WHILE of walking, they stumbled into a yogurtland. elyse loved anything icecream, so it would be hard to just walk past and not get anything.

the two walked in hand in hand and began speed walking straight to the sample cups and trying every flavor there. they decided to share a cup and they chose the flavor chocolate milkshake and loaded their cup with toppings. nelson paid for them and they found a table with two seats.

"nels, we should hang out back in houston. i wanna meet your family they seem so nice." elyse said.

"woah woah woah isnt that too soon" nelson asked jokingly.

"hey i didn't mean it like that." elyse said slapping his arm. "i just honestly wanna hang out with niles"

"bro what. what's wrong with me?" he asked half joking half serious.

during that week, niles has popped up multiple times on nelson's screen while they were on call or live, so elyse has gotten to know him a bit.

"this is so good, i have to get froyo more often." nelson said getting froyo all over his mouth.

elyse laughed at how childish he looked. he looked like a baby eating cake at it's birthday party.

"oh you got a lil something" elyse laughed pointing around his mouth.

nelson's face immediately turned a bit red as he started wiping all around his mouth.

IT WAS TIME to go back to the meeting point where elyse's parents were. when they were together they felt as if time flew by way too quick.

as they were walking back hands intertwined, nelson spoke up. "elyse, i just want to say that it has been so much fun hanging out with you. i've never had this much fun with anyone else".

"aw i feel the same way. this hangout felt too short" she replied.

"would you want to come to my other basketball games later? i have 1 or 2 more games" he asked shyly.

"of course nelson." she said smiling at him.

they finally met up with her parents and they took nelson back to his hotel. nelson ended up winning both his games one of those games even being a championship game. elyse cheered him on from the crowd giving him a encouragement to put in 100%.

after she got back in her hotel, she wondered. she wondered about what her and nelson were as she looked back at what they did that day. she's had boy best friends before, but there was something different about her and nelson's friendship. she felt something for nelson that she couldn't grasp the meaning of.
