Caitlin scolds Max for her introduction and encourages Iris to sit down. Shortly after getting Iris comfortable with a cup of tea and a backup glass of wine, Max explains where she's from, why she's here, and how she knows Nora.

"So, yeah. That's it." Max says.

"You called me Mrs. WA, what's that about."

"Oh, in the future I call you Mrs. WA because it feels wrong to call you Iris, you're someone I look up to so it's just off."

Iris nods numbly, keeping her mug to her lips for a moment before shaking her head and turning to Caitlin with a chuckle. "That's gonna take a minute to get used to."

Caitlin returns with a strained smile, staring daggers into Max's eyes, who looks back with an easy smile.

Max stands from the love seat she was sitting on to the lengthy couch Iris rests in the middle of, sitting to the left of her so she can look at both Iris and Caitlin, who is sitting on a side sofa. Iris shifts a little to make sure their knees aren't touching. Max pauses from the action but lets it roll off her quickly.

"I have a question to ask, if you dont mind, Iris."

Iris raises an eyebrow, taking a quick peek to Caitlin before turning back to Max. "I thought you were uncomfortable with calling me by my first name."

A tiny tint of a blush spreads across Max's cheeks, accentuating her few freckles. "You're a very beautiful woman in the future Iris, you look barely older than Nora, but you have an air of knowledge around you there. I could tell from our first meeting that I had a lot to learn and you had more than enough knowledge to teach." Max, once again, begins fiddling with her rings. Twisting the one on her ring finger the most.

Iris asks. "How does this have anything to do with you calling me Iris now? Are you saying I don't have knowledge to give now?"

Max looks up abruptly from her hand at that, 'What, of course not! It's just, you may be a younger version of the Mrs. WA I know, but you're not her. No offense, but I don't know you as well. I don't know if you like your coffee the same as she does or see the world the same or if you're willing to watch soap operas in languages we don't understand with me. And even if all those things are the same, the experiences aren't. We," Max vaguely gestures between them, "don't have those memories."

Iris pauses for a moment, her eyesight shifts from Max's wary face to the tip of her mug. Max's speech reminds her of how shakey her and Nora's relationship has been. It's obvious how much she favors her father over Iris, but she thought it was just because she never knew him.

After learning what future her did to Nora, she's been carrying the guilt around like Atlas. Forever condemned to hold up the sky. But, Max's words make sense. She's not that woman, she might never become that woman. If she could get Nora to see that, maybe they'd reconcile, or Nora won't hate her anymore.

"Iris?" Caitlins edgy voice pipes up. "Are you alright?"

With a quick breath, she nods. "Yeah of course, sorry, zoned out there for a second."

Caitlin shrugs back and Max gives a positive hum. "I understand now, thank you Maxine."

Max winces at that, "God please, just call me Max, only my mom calls me that."

A little time passes, Iris asks Max some surface level questions about herself and the future. Which Max answers readily, returning with a few of her own although she's been in 2019 long enough to get the gist. Caitlin stays quiet, content with observing.

"The look on your face when I showed up was priceless! I should've taken a picture oh my god." Max shouts out, struggling to catch her breath.

"Anyone would freak out if someone showed up with a tattoo of their face on someone else's back! I can't believe you did that!" Iris slaps her shoulder lightly and attempts to hide her laughter. "Now I see who's been such a crappy influence on Nora."

Max's laughter dies down and she's left with a gleefull smile left in it's wake. "I show her how to have fun alright." She brings her wine glass, which she stole from Caitlin's cabinet, to her lips and lets it rest there.

"Well! It's been great having you here Max, tomorrow we'll help you out with your suit and whatnot but it's getting late so.. So long now!" Caitlin's voice rang out suddenly. Her face looked exhausted, her eyes droopy and threatening to close. Her voice a bit hoarse, her movements slow.  Max lets her eyes drift over the obviously tired woman and feels a pang of guilt, which flows out as quickly as it came.

"Okay just one last story this one's hilarious." Max laughs through the sentence. Iris staying silent, nibbling on a piece of cheese. Another staring contest evokes between Max and Caitlin, Max cheerfully smiling and Caitlin holding back a grimace. "Iris must be tired, we have a big day tomorrow. You should really go." Caitlin lets out between clenched teeth.

Max eyes her down, "I think it's rude of you to speak for someone who can make their own decisions. If you'd like me to leave Dr. Snow I'd suggest telling me and not hiding behind someone who isn't involved." A bright smile still on her lips.

Iris looks between the both of them, feeling the tension rising quickly. "Ya know what I actually am kinda tired, I should get back to the loft. This has been great."

"Oh." The speedster moving her gaze to Iris, "Let me walk with you to the elevator then. Thank you for your amazing hospitality Dr. Snow."

With a sigh Caitlin walks the both of them to the door, "Please stop calling me that you know my name."

{A/N) Hi, hehe please don't be mad at me I know it's been like two months but I've literally been in Syria so.. No internet, no electricity, no writing. I know this is super short and I promise to make up for it but I got in like two days ago and felt super bad so.

Do you guys want me to continue from here chapter or I was thinking of doing some weird time jumps and having this as a flashback? Like a time jump to where everyone knows Max and is like okay with her and it's all about Max pining for Max. Or do you guys want me to finish this and show Barry being whiney. Anyways! The support has been amazing and it's giving me so much more motivation to write. <3 Love you guys.
