3rd Person
Jonathan opened the door to see Hopper stood there so he moved out of the way so that Hopper could get in.
"Why is he passed out?" Hopper asked as he raised an eyebrow.
"He just killed like 10 people." Jonathan told him.
"Oh. Okay. Uhm. . . Right, bring him over to the couch." Hopper sighed, and Joyce nodded and picked him up, setting him down gently on the couch.
"Wait why does he have hair? Aren't lab kids bald?" Hopper asked them both, frowning slightly.
"I don't know actually, we can ask him when he wakes up." Joyce shrugged.
"Okay, well, I need to tell you what to do with him, and you cannot break these rules, okay? I know they seem ridiculous but we can't risk anybody finding out about him." Hopper started. Joyce and Jonathan nodded and Hopper took that as a signal to carry on.
"Ruled number one, he cannot leave this house until he can at least form a few sentances. If he wanders out into the street only knowing a few words people are going to know something is wrong." Hopper told them.
Joyce and Jonathan both shared a quick look but nodded anyway before turning back to Hopper.
"Rule number two. Nobody like Mike, Eleven, Max, can come and see him. I know they will want to since he's new and all but it's not happening." Hopper told them, making Jonathan frown
"Why not?" Jonathan asked him, scowling slightly.
"Because people will see them coming to your house and they will realise that he is here. After a couple of months maybe they can come over but for now not at all." Hopper spoke firmly.
"Oh, okay. Are there any other rules?" Joyce asked him.
"Rule number three, you need to start giving him reading and speech lessons as soon as you can, okay? He needs to learn how to speak and spell." Hopper finished.
"Okay, yeah we can do that." Joyce nodded, still taking this all in.
"Mama?" They heard a small voice say. Joyce's head shot up and looked over to where Will was lying and he had sat up. She ran over to him and sat down by his side.
"Hi sweetheart, how are you feeling?" Joyce spoke softly, smiling gently at him.
"Bad." He frowned, his eyes glistening with tears.
"Hey, uh kid, why have you got hair?" Hopper asked him flatly.
Will looked at him confused. Joyce took over the conversation in a more gentle way.
"Will, how do you have hair? Did the lab not try and shave it off?" She asked him.
"Kill." Will told them, and Hopper's eyes widened.
"HUH?" Hopper yelled which made Will flinch.
"Hop! Keep your voice down!" Joyce scolded.
"Will, sweetheart, what do you mean?" Joyce sighed, her hand gently holding Will's smaller one.
"Try. Not let." Will told them.
"This makes no sense." Jonathan muttered.
"They tried shaving your head?" Hopper questioned and Will nodded.
"So you just killed them?" Hopper scoffed, thinking he was getting things mixed up. Will just nodded once again.
"Oh. Jesus Christ he is even more insane then eleven was.." Hopper mumbled.
"So. . . What do we do?" Joyce raised her eyebrow.
"Uh.. Maybe just start with the lessons and all that and try and get him to do stuff that would help him fit in at school.." Hopper suggested, not sure if what he is suggesting is even useful.
Joyce nodded and Jonathan just sat there not knowing what to say.
"While you stary his lessons I'm gonna go see nancy..!" Jonathan annnounced.
"Listen, you can't tell Nancy about Will. Okay?" Hopper warned him.
"What? Why? She knows about Eleven!" Jonathan scoffed.
"Yeah but eleven isn't being searched for right now is she?" Hopper retorted.
Jonathan rolled his eyes and just left.
"I should get going aswell. I would start his lessons if I was you." Hopper told her.
"Okay, thanks Hop." Joyce smiled faintly.
"Your welcome, if you need help just give me a call." Hopper patted Wills head and left.
"Mama learn." Will asked, pointing to the TV.
"No sweetheart, we are doing proper lessons, okay?"
"No. Box." Will refused.
"No, after lessons you can watch it." Joyce told him.
"No!" Will whined.
"Yes! Come on." Joyce pulled Will up.
Will huffed but got up with her anyway. She brought him to the table and she got out a childs book.
"Okay, can you read any of this?" She asked, needing to know what she was working with.
The book had the words, 'We are going on a bear hunt!' on the page.
Will scrunched his face up trying to read the words.
"No." He frowned, and Joyce sighed.
"Okay, let's get going then."
She wrote down all of the letters on a sheet of paper (A - Z) and held it up.
"Do you know how to say any of these?" She asked him.
He nodded and point to 'o' and smiled.
"Okay good! How do you say it?"
"Oh!" He smiled.
"Well done sweetheart, do you know any others?"
He nodded and point to 'A'.
"Okay good, can you say it for me?"
"Ah." He smiled even more, proud of himself.
"Yes! Good job. Is that all you know?"
Will nodded.
"Okay, let's teach you the rest of these then."
She pointed to 'B'.
"Okay, I will say it and you say it back, yes?"
"Yes." Will agreed
"Okay, this is pronounced be."
"Be." Will repeated
"Well done!" Joyce smiled.
Will shifted in his seat, happy he was doing so well. They continued this process for about an hour, Joyce saying the letter and Will repeating it back.
"Okay, we have done enough for today. Do you want to watch the TV?"
"What is TV?"
"The big box." Joyce chuckled.
"Yes! Big Box!" Will grinned.
Joyce got up and motioned for Will to follow her, so he did. She brought him over to the TV and as she went to turn it on, it turned on by itself.
She thought it was odd but she didn't think anything of it and she went to change the channel but it changed itself aswell.
She turned around to see Will's nose bleeding and she realised what happened. She laughed to herself as her son changed it to the kids channel he was watching yesterday.
She sunk back into the couch as Will sat on the floor, content. She smiled, glad that she has progressed with him.
She let him watch TV for about half an hour before she decides to wrap things up.
"Right Will, bedtime." She told him.
He didnt respond.
"Will! Time to go to bed." She repeated.
"Will?" She looked down at him and he had fallen asleep.
She smiled to herself and picked up the sleeping boy. He was very light so she could carry him with ease. She brought him to his room and tucked him into bed.
As she was leaving she heard a small voice.
"Mama.. stay." Will whispered.
"Of course." Joyce whispered back. She pulled a chair from his desk and put it beside his bed. She stroked his cheek lightly until he dozed back off.
She gave him a small kiss on the forehead and went to bed herself.
