Amelia Lancaster
Spiderman was in an alley getting back up from a bolt of lightning that just barely missed him. I didn't know where it was coming from, so I idiotically shouted, "Hey!", to try and distract the antagonizer.
As I said that though, I felt the same bolt hit my torso, slamming me up against the brick wall.
"Amelia!!" I heard him scream.
I felt my entire body go blank.
I felt it go through my feet, up into my chest, my heart beating faster than I've ever felt it. I think I might explode.
I felt the software of my brain get fuzzy and I couldn't move at all. I was still, yet I was falling to the ground. It burned and was tingling.
Everything hurts.
I screamed as I felt him touch me, when will this feeling go away?
I will never complain about the pins and needles sensation again.
I could feel him take me in his arms. I might be in his lap, but I don't know at this point. Everything is so blurry and hazy in my brain, I can't make anything out.
I could hear him around me, clutching me tightly in his arms. He sounds like he might be crying, but I couldn't tell. I did hear a "stay with me" or "I got you, don't worry", but the words were in and out, like breaking up on a walkie-talkie almost.
Reality was fading in and out, I could feel myself be wrapped around him and be carried. I eventually knew he was flying because I felt the quick wind against my face. Whenever I did fly with him, he always clutched onto me so tight, I thought I might never let go.
At this point, I had lost my vision and was trying to piece together what was going on. I couldn't help it because everything went dark.

I woke up in my room, having no clue how I got there. My whole torso was burning and stinging so bad. I looked over to grab my phone and saw a note on my nightstand. I leaned over to grab it, letting out a hiss as I felt my skin burn. I reached for the note that felt like how long it takes to get through English class to finally read it.
Hey Amelia,
I realize you probably have a lot of questions so here is my phone number.
Call me when you wake up and I will answer your questions.
-Peter Parker
Why would Peter have brought me home, how would he know about my pain? Did he do this to me? What is Peter hiding? I guess this is why he told me to call him. He didn't pick up the first time, but the second time he finally did.
Peter- "Hello?"
Me- "Hey, it's Amelia."
Peter- "Oh, hey. Sorry. You're not on my phone yet."
Me- "It's fine, can you tell me why it feels like my body is an electric socket?"
Peter- "Well sort of,"
Me- "Sort of? What is that supposed to mean?"
Peter- "Do you want to know?"
Me- "I mean I did ask."
Peter- "Okay fair. I can't explain everything on the phone, can you walk?"
Me- "It hurts like hell, but yes."
Peter- "Do you need me to pick you up?"
Me- "Maybe, anyway why can't you tell me on the phone?"
Peter- "Kind of secret. I just need to tell you in person."
Me- "Okay. Can you pick me up outside of my house, and then explain?"
Peter- "Yeaa-yeah, that works. Where do you live?"
Me- "Summer street."
Peter- "Okay. I'll be there in ten."
Me- "Alright, I'll be waiting outside."
Peter- "See you soon."
Me- "Bye Peter."
I got dressed, pulling on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, trying to cover up all of the marks on me. I put my hair in a ponytail, did the usual little makeup I have and own, and headed out.
I stood outside my house for like 3 minutes until Peter finally showed up, without a car. He was out of breath.
"Are you okay?" I asked, quirking a brow.
"Y-yeah." He said, panting.
"Did you run here?"
"Yup."
"Do you not have a license?"
"Nope."
"Well, that explains it. So, going back to earlier, why the hell do I feel like an electric socket?" I demand.
"Okay hold on, slow down. Let's just start walking," He said shakily.
"Somehow you got me to my house, yet asked me for my address earlier? And you got me into my room? How do you know how I was shocked?" I raddle off, ignoring his "slow down" comment.
"Damn Amelia, I'm going to answer things, just give me a chance to speak," He says while halting in front of me, smiling as he does so, "have you ever heard of the guy named Tony Stark?"
"I've heard of him, but I don't know who he is."
" The Avengers tower, he owns that. Works with Nick Fury and all those people you've probably heard the names of. They're always in the news."
"Oh yeah, I know who you're talking about."
"Okay, so, I recently started working for them in an internship."
"No shit, really? Do you know all of the Avengers?"
" For the most part, I don't really get to talk to them, but I have met them all."
"Like who? I want to see if this is legit."
"Why would I be lying to you?"
"Cut to the chase Parker," I say playfully.
"Okay damn! I know the Hulk, Captain America, Falcon, Black Widow, Spiderman, etcetera."
"You know all of those people?" I say bewildered.
"Yes."
"That's awesome and all, but what are you getting at? Did they shock me or some shit?"
"No, hell no, oh my god. They were on the saving end of your attack. Spiderman came in looking pretty worn out and said a girl had been shocked by electro."
"Who the fuck is electro?"
"This bad guy who survived a terrible accident and now has electrical capabilities and powers. He is like a walking lightning bolt. That is what shocked you, his lightning. Spiderman has been trying to calm him down while fighting him off for weeks." He explains.
"Lovely, that's comforting," I say sarcastically.
"Anyway, he said a girl had been shocked and had passed out while he had been carrying her. I went to see if I could help with anything, and I saw that that girl was you,"
"Oh," I say, my shoulders relaxing.
"I told them that I knew you and could take you home when we finished treating you. Spiderman told me he had taken you home one night, so he gave me your address, I just forgot it today."
"Oh."
"Yeah."
"That's really sweet of you, thank you for looking out for me Peter. I feel rough right now but I don't want to imagine what state I would be in right now without you and Spider-Man's help."
"It's really nothing. It's just what we do."
"Thank you though," I say, placing my hand on his forearm.
"Spiderman also told us that he knew you and that you two are becoming friends."
"Yeah, he's really kind! I love hanging out with him."
"Yeah, I'm not going to lie, they weren't too pleased about that, so I'm not sure who much you'll see him anymore."
"Are you serious? Why?"
"Just they don't want to him getting close with a stranger and him revealing his identity so early, especially because he's a wanted vigilante. Makes things too risky, and it's reckless of him." Peter says, looking away.
"Great. Love that." I say frustratedly.
"What did you two do anyways?" Peter asks.
"It was the other night. I couldn't sleep and went for a walk. He saw me walking and we talked for a bit, and eventually, we were sitting on a rooftop together. It was a beautiful night, and way better than walking around alone."
"Yeah, I know this is a double standard but I wouldn't walk in New York City of all places at night, alone, a lot more. That's really dangerous." He warned.
"hey! Spiderman was here this time so I was fine!" I say, fully knowing the point Peter is trying to make.
"Yes he was." Peter shook his head a little while chuckling.
"What's so funny?" I asked.
"Nothing. You just seem to like Spiderman, and it's like he took you on a date literally unprecedented and at night. You don't even know who he is, don't you think that is kinda weird?"
"Hey first off it was not a date-" I begin, getting cut off by Peter-
"Oh please, him letting you experience flying and then a rooftop night of talking with the city lights? Sounds more romantic than friendly." He laughs.
"Hey! Not every relationship between a boy and a girl has to be dating, sometimes things can just be platonic. And yes I know I don't know who he is, but there is something about him that I know I can trust. I mean it's not because he is a superhero or anything, he just seems like a down to earth person, someone I can relate to. He feels familiar too. I can't put my finger on it though."
"Mhm, do you think you know him?"
"I couldn't tell you. It's weird."
"What did you guys do after he brought you to the rooftop?"
"We talked a little, got to know each other. I walked around and took some pictures and I could just feel him watching me. He took me home and said goodbye, but we agreed to still hang out. I don't know if that's going to happen now though," I say kind of bummed.
"You should tell me if he finds you again, since you know, breaking protocal."
"Can't promise that I will, not ready to give that friendship up yet." I say with a wink.
