This is the last chapter, enjoy ;)
------------------
Six months have passed since the night Helia held Toji in her arms, promising silently to take care of him.
During this time, she has done just that, silently looking after him, watching over him like a hawk, making sure he's safe and happy.
And Toji, for his part, has grown more attached to her with each passing day, his trust and reliance on her growing. Their bond has strengthened, their connection is deeper than ever.
True to his word, Toji had married Helia, and they had done discreetly, just the two of them. No priest, no fancy ceremony, just the two of them exchanging their vows.
Despite the simplicity of the ceremony, the vows they had shared were heartfelt and sincere, promising each other a life of love, support, and protection.
The love she had felt for Toji in that moment was so strong, so overwhelming, it was as if her heart could burst from the pure joy of it.
She had felt as if she could have lived in that moment forever, feeling nothing but completely happy with the man she had married, her soul mate, the other half of her being.
As for Toji, his heart had been filled with a happiness he didn't know existed. He hadn't thought it possible for him to be so fully and completely happy.
He loved her, he had always loved her, but this moment, this act of officially binding themselves together, had made that love feel ten times more powerful.
The two of them had also started training together regularly again, using the peaceful meadow in front of their house as their training ground.
They trained almost every day, working on her fighting skills, sharpening her technique, and pushing herself to her limits.
Toji had been enjoying the training sessions more than ever, finding any excuse he could to stay close to her.
He would take every opportunity to brush against her, to touch her, to hold her close during combat sessions.
He would make it a point to spar with her more often, using the excuse of wanting to sharpen her skills, but really just wanting to have a reason to be close to her, to feel her body against his.
And just like that each day of those six months passed by in a blur of peace and happiness. Helia and Toji were inseparable, spending every moment together, whether it was in tender, intimate moments or in more passionate, wild ones.
Life felt like a beautiful dream, and they were living it together. The happiness they felt in each other's presence was everything she had ever wanted, and she wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
Looking back on her life, Helia may have made some mistakes, but she didn't regret any of them. Because every decision, every choice, every mistake she made had led her here, to this beautiful life with Toji.
If she had to go back in time, she would do it all again, every last thing, if it meant ending up here, with the man she loved.
Right now, she's curled up on the couch in the living room, absorbed in a book. The room is quiet and peaceful, with the sound the soft rustle of pages as she turns them.
Outside, she can hear the faint sound of Toji moving around, presumably tending to something in the garden or doing some other outdoor chores.
He had taken great pride in tending to the vegetable garden, which was the primary source of fruits and vegetables for their meals.
He worked hard to tend to it every day, watering the plants, weeding the beds, and harvesting the ripe produce, so that they would always have a fresh, healthy supply of food to enjoy together.
Of course she didn't let him do all the work, she would often help him with the garden whenever she thought he could need her help.
Thanks to the garden and the hard work they both put into it, they rarely needed to buy anything.
They only go into the closest town, once a month, to purchase meat and some treats, that they will then stock.
The sound of the front door opening interrupts her reading, and she turns her head to see Toji walking into the house.
He's carrying a basket filled with a variety of freshly picked vegetables from the garden, his clothes a little dirty from his work outside.
He drops the basket on the coffee table and immediately envelops her in a tight hug, his sweaty and dusty body pressing against hers.
"Ah Toji! You're making me dirty!"
He holds her close, grinning, knowing very well that he's getting dirt and sweat all over her, but not caring in the slightest.
She tries to push with not very much conviction. He just laughs at her protests, not taking her attempts to push him away seriously.
He pulls her even closer, wrapping his arms tighter around her, his body now completely pressed against hers.
"What's the matter Helia, you don't like your husband all sweaty and dirty?" He says, smirking at her, knowing he's got her trapped in his embrace.
"I love you very much, but I prefer when you don't sweat all over me!" She says a little amused.
He lets out another chuckle. "Oh, really now?" He says, his tone cheeky and playful.
"I seem to remember you had no complaints when I was sweating all over you last night-"
"Toji!"
She could feel her face getting slightly hotter, trying to contain her embarrassment. Seeing her face redden at his words, he grins even wider.
He leans in, his mouth close to her ear, his voice a low, seductive whisper.
"Oh, don't get all shy on me now. You weren't so coy last night. In fact, if I remember correctly, you were very... vocal about-"
He's cut off mid-sentence as she presses her hand against his mouth, silencing him.
"Alright! Stop it! I get it!"
He chuckles softly, his eyes glittering with mischief. Seeing her flushed face is just making him want to tease her even more, but he bites his tongue for now.
She removes her hand and speaks again.
"I was saying this because I had just taken a shower and now you've put dirt all over me and my shirt!"
He leans in and kisses her, his lips warm and soft against hers. She doesn't even push him back and when he pulls back, he looks at her with a suggestive gleam in his eyes.
"You know... you could always take a shower with me. It would save some water."
Helia was tempted to refuse.
[...]
The warm water cascades over both their bodies as she stands under the spray of the shower, wrapped in his arms.
Yes. She accepted.
His hands slide over her skin, washing away the dirt and sweat while simultaneously sending shivers down her spine.
[...]
After a long, steamy shower together, they had gone back to the bedroom. He now stands behind her on the bed, drying her hair with a towel, his movements gentle yet firm.
He runs the towel over her wet locks, his hands lingering here and there, massaging her scalp gently.
He passes his fingers through her hair, ensuring it's completely dry before setting the towel aside. His hands slide down to her shoulders, massaging them lightly, his touch both soothing and seductive.
"There, all dry." He says, his voice a soft murmur in her ear. He leans forward, his chest presses against her back, and his lips brush against the skin of her neck.
As she turns around to face him, Toji looks down at her, his gaze locking onto hers. He runs a hand through her hair, pushing a few loose strands behind her ear.
Her hand finds its way into his hair. The wet locks are soft under her touch as he leans his head back slightly to give her better access.
"They need to be dried too. Turn around." Helia says.
He gives her a quick, playful grin and obeys her command, turning around. He sits on the edge of the bed, his back facing her, waiting patiently for her attention.
His bare, muscular shoulders gleam under the soft light of the room as she grabs the towel to start drying his hair.
He sits quietly, his head tilted back slightly to give her better access. He closes his eyes, before reopening them, enjoying the feel of her hands in his hair, the softness of the towel against his scalp.
As she looks at his face while drying his hair from the side, she notices a distant, contemplative look in his eyes.
It's as if his mind has wandered off somewhere far away from the present moment.
"You look preoccupied."
He glances at her, surprised that she noticed his distracted expression.
"Hm? Oh, it's nothing." He says, shaking his head slightly. He tries to give her a reassuring smile.
"You're not worried because Anna and Gojo are coming here tomorrow, are you?"
His expression stiffens slightly. It's obvious that they are the source of his preoccupation, and he lets out a soft huff of air through his nose.
"I wouldn't say worried. More like... annoyed."
During those six months, Helia had made sure to keep Anna updated on her life through regular letters.
She had written to her, sharing all the sweet, special moments they spent together, the beautiful peaceful life she was building with him. She wanted to make sure that Anna wouldn't worry about her.
And Anna would always answer, her letters were a treat to receive.
She would update Helia on life in the estate and the maid compound, regaling her with tales of the other maids, the gossip and drama that always seemed to be happening among them.
And she would also share news of her relationship with Gojo, whether it was a funny anecdote about one of his pranks or a romantic gesture he had made for her.
Helia missed Anna deeply, Helia knew she was busy with her duties as a maid and her relationship with Gojo, but it didn't make her miss Anna any less.
So that's why she had suggested to Anna to come visit her and Toji tomorrow. Helia told her that she could bring Gojo if she wanted. And Anna had accepted immediately.
But Toji had been a bit harder to convince.
She chuckles lightly, still drying his hair.
"Come on Toji, we've already talked about this. You don't need to worry. Anna is not going to tell anyone that we're hiding here and I'm sure Gojo won't either."
He lets out a resigned sigh, her words offering him some fragment of comfort.
"I know, I know." He mutters, his voice slightly tensed. "But that damn Six-Eyed Satoru has no discretion whatsoever... It's been so peaceful here, just you and me. I don't want anything to ruin that."
She finishes to dry his hair, and her places lips on his cheek as she gives him a gentle kiss, and the tension in his shoulders seems to subside slightly.
"Relax, I trust Anna. Believe me our secret is safe with her and I'm sure she'll make sure that Gojo keeps his mouth shut too."
He looks at her, and despite the hint of irritation still lingering in his expression, he gives her a slight nod.
"Alright. If you say we can trust her, I suppose I have no choice but to take your word for it."
She gives him another kiss on the cheek. "Thank you..."
He leans into her embrace as she wraps her arms around him.
He can feel the weight of his worry and doubt slowly lifting from his shoulders, replaced by the warmth and comfort of her touch.
"I just want to keep us safe, you know?"
She nods, still holding him close. "I know. I understand."
He turns around to bury his face in her neck, his hair brushing against her skin, causing her to squirm and chuckle as the ticklish sensation.
He rubs his head against her, his nose and lips nuzzling her neck and shoulder affectionately. He grins against her skin, clearly enjoying her reaction to his playful tickling.
As Helia falls back on the bed, hoping to get away from his tickles, Toji follows, landing on top of her gently, his body resting between her legs.
He grins down at her, clearly enjoying the sound of her chuckles as he continues to tickle her with his hair, his hands now roaming over her sides and stomach, seeking out the most ticklish spots.
Her laughter fills the room, soon followed by Toji's.
[...]
As Helia wakes up the next morning, the first thing she notices is the strong, familiar feel of Toji's arms wrapped around her, holding her softly against his chest.
His body is warm and solid against hers, providing a comfortable and protective embrace as she slowly comes to consciousness.
His eyes meet hers as she turns her head to look at him, a small smile playing on his lips. He's been awake for a while, his gaze fixed on her face as she slept, watching over her and enjoying the peace and quiet of the morning.
"Morning." He murmurs, his voice low and gravelly with sleep.
"Hey."
He leans down and presses a soft kiss against her forehead, his lips lingering for a moment before he pulls back to look at her again.
Suddenly, she turns around to look at the clock.
"Anna and Gojo are coming today! We must get everything ready!"
He watches her as she quickly gets out of bed and starts to change, moving with a haste and determination that amuses him a little.
He leans back against the headboard, a lazy smile on his face as he watches her get dressed.
"You know, you could take your time... they won't be here for another hour or so."
"No! We must make sure everything is perfect! Get up, come on!"
She doesn't let him answer that she's already out of the room heading downstairs.
He rolls his eyes at her enthusiastic urgency, though he can't help but find it a little charming. He lets out sigh, but he obediently gets out of bed, stretching his arms over his head and yawning.
"Alright, alright, I'm getting up."
[...]
Helia prepares things in the kitchen, even if she's not a very good cook, she will try her best for Anna.
At the same Toji heads out to the meadow to set up a nice seating area for the guests. He gets a table, and chairs set up under the shade of a large tree, making sure everything is neat and prepared.
Despite his reservations about the upcoming guests, he does put effort into making it look nice and inviting.
[...]
After everything is prepared, they sit on the porch, waiting for Anna and Gojo to arrive, and she can't help but feel a bit nervous and excited about their arrival.
The sun casts a warm, golden light over everything, and a gentle breeze rustles through the trees. She can hear a few birds singing in the distance, adding to the almost idyllic atmosphere of the lovely meadow.
Suddenly, Helia sees two figures from afar, walking towards them, she quickly gets up. "They're here!"
Toji turns towards the direction she's pointing and, sure enough, he can see the two figures getting closer and closer. His expression hardens slightly, his jaw clenching as he braces himself for what's to come.
She turns to him and see his tensed expression.
"I hope you will be very nice to them Toji... Remember that it's thanks to Gojo that we are living here now."
His expression remains stoic as he lets out a low, reluctant sigh.
"I know, I know." He mutters. "I'll try to be...civil."
She looks at the frown on his face. "Try to look...less...angry, okay? And remember to smile!" She gives him a big smile.
He lets out an annoyed huff at her instructions, but he wants her to have a nice day. So, with a visible effort to relax his features, he turns toward her, attempting a smile.
"Like this? Happy now?" He asks, his voice still gruff but a little less angry.
His tension eases a little as she takes his hand and give it a reassuring squeeze.
"It's perfect, thank you!"
She then lets go of his hand to walk towards Anna and Gojo. He follows a few steps behind, silently promising to himself to try and keep his temper under control for her sake.
Anna's face lights up with a wide smile as she sees Helia approaching, and she speeds up her pace to meet her in the middle.
"Anna!"
As soon as they come close enough, she immediately envelops Helia in a tight hug.
"I've missed you so much!" Anna exclaims in a warm voice, her hold on Helia tight and affectionate.
"Me too, I'm so happy you're here!"
Anna laughs and pulls away from the hug just enough to look at Helia's face, her eyes sparkling and a warm smile on her lips.
"I'm glad to be here." She says, her voice filled with happiness and excitement.
Her gaze flicks briefly over to Toji, who is standing a few steps behind them, observing the reunion with an impassive expression.
Helia turns to Gojo and waves at him. "Hey Gojo!"
Gojo is a few steps behind Anna, casually strolling along at a relaxed pace. His mouth curves into a friendly smile as his hands are stuffed into his pockets, and he seems perfectly at ease.
"Hey hey you two! Thanks for inviting me over." He says casually, but his eyes wander over to where Toji is standing, his gaze scrutinizing Toji like a watchful hawk.
Helia turns towards Toji and he catches her eye and the subtle pleading look she gives him.
Cautiously, he takes a few steps forward and stands next to Helia, his expression is faked but calm and polite as he forces a smile on his face.
He gives Gojo a nod of greeting, his voice a little strained but trying to sound cordial.
"Hey."
It's not really to warmer welcome but Helia appreciates his efforts to look polite.
"Well...Let's have a seat!" Helia says, guiding them towards the table Toji had prepared outside.
Gojo and Anna follow, the former with a relaxed and easy pace, while the latter moves a little more slowly, her eyes taking in the surroundings with interest and curiosity.
The four of them arrive at the table and take their seats, the meadow around them is quiet and peaceful.
Anna pipes up, her cheerful voice breaking the silence as soon as everyone is seated.
"This place is lovely." She says, her eyes taking in the beautiful surroundings. Her gaze drifts over the meadow, the trees, and the sunlight. "You were right, it's truly like a little slice of paradise."
"Thank you! I should thank that grumpy guy over here for that." She says as she points at Toji.
Gojo chuckles at Helia's words, looking at Toji with an amused expression. Toji, who has been quiet up to this point, merely grunts in response, his arms crossed over his chest as he glares slightly at Gojo.
Toji turns his attention to Helia as she places her hand on his arm, his expression softening slightly.
"Toji... Why don't you bring something to eat please." She gives him a warm smile.
He can see the subtle pleading look in her eyes, silently asking him to be polite.
"Fine." He mutters grumpily, rising to his feet. He shoots Gojo a quick glare before stalking off towards the house to bring the food.
Helia turns to Gojo. "Well, I don't know what happened between the two of you but you don't seem to like each other very much."
Gojo shrugs casually, a small smile on his lips.
"Eh, you can say that's an understatement. Toji and I have never really gotten along. Our personalities just don't mix well, I suppose."
Anna, noticing the somewhat awkward atmosphere, quickly changes the subject. She turns her attention to Helia, a cheerful smile on her face.
"So, how have you two been settling in?" She asks, clearly making an effort to direct the conversation away from the strained relationship between Toji and Gojo.
As Helia answers her friend, Toji returns from the house with a large tray of food, his expression still irritated but less hostile than before.
He sets the tray on the table with a bit more
