The next day Rhaenyra stood on the rocks with Her three children, Elaena, Lucerys and Jacaerys. She smiled at them as they came.

"Swear on the seven gods you will go as messengers not warriors" she ordered.

They all placed their hand on the book, saying "I swear"

Rhaenyra then turned to Jacaerys and Elaena "Cretan stark is closer to your age than mine Jace, I hope that you two men can find something in common, and you too Elaena" Their mother told them making them nod.

She then turned to Lucerys who seemed nervous "Storms end is a short flight from here" she told her son.

They bid each other goodbye, before making their way to their dragons. Elaena looked at her twin brother, who she could tell, was very nervous.

"Are you alright luke?" She asked softly.

"I just, I'm just worried is all" he said kicking the ground.

She smiled walking over to him, putting a hand on his shoulder "Don't, we shall see each other again soon. You have have dragon, who will always protect you. You will be fine, I promise" she said making him offer her a small smile.

"I love you, twin brother" she said with a bright smile.

Lucerys then rolled his eyes before answering "love you too El"

And with that, they had gotten on their dragons. Elaena knew she not see her brother for a while, but what she didn't know was,

That was the last time she ever had.

Not too long after that day, Jacaerys had arrived in winterfell, Elaena still with him. They had met Cretan stark who seemed like a nice man, who had welcomed them warmly. They were trying their best to butter him up so he'd support Rhaenyra in her claim.

As of now they were on a wooden lift, taking them up to a large icy mountain, where they stayed.

"Winter is coming" Cregan said to the two looking into wide snowy distance as he did.

"Coming?" Elaena laughed with a questioning look

"What is this then, that falls from the sky and shivers my bones?" Jacaerys asked. His hair was now slightly longer, down almost to his shoulders. His arm was around his wife who was shivering, despite her heavy clothes. She told him she liked his longer hair, that it suited him.

"This is only a late summers snow, my prince. In winter it will cover all you see, and all memories of warmth will be forgotten" Cregan said smiling at the two.

"Lovely" Elaena laughed, clinging on a little tighter to her husband as they went higher and higher up in the lift.

"It pleases me to know that over a century ago our ancestors treated in this very place. The conquerer and the king in the North" Jacaerys said looking into the snowy distance.

"You at least, had the mercy not to threaten me with your dragon." Cregan said giving the young prince a look.

Elanea laughed softly, but Jacaerys saw this as a loss in his efforts to convince the lord and sighed quietly.

The lift stopped and the three walked out of the wooden box, men greeting them as they did, now walking on the man-made structures on the mountain.

Jacaerys smiled down at his wife who looked up at him grumpily. Elaena had not taken kindly to the cold weather in the north at all. He placed an arm around her waist and she leaned into him, trying to get his body warmth.

"Surely the great Torrhen Stark would've sooner died than bent the knee, unless he believed the Conqueror could bring unity to the seven kingdoms" Jacaerys said as they continued to walk through the street like pathways.

"You are right in that" Cregan agreed with him.

"That unity is now threatened" Elaena said looking at the older man as they walked.

"The realm will soon tear itself apart, if men do not remember the oath sworn to King Viserys and to his rightful heir" Jacaerys said speaking about his mother.

"Starla do not forget their oaths, my prince. But you must know, that my gaze is forever torn between north and south. In winter, my duty to the wall is even more dire than the one I owe to kings landing. I need my men here." Cregan said stopping, making the two stand in front of him.

Elanea frowned "Whilst your men guard against wildings and weather, the Hightower's plan to usurp the throne" She said, as they walked up onto a wooden ledge.

"If our mother is to defend her claim, to hold the realm united, she needs an army. War is coming, to the whole of the realm my lord" Jacaerys said as they stepped up onto the ledge.

"We cannot wage it without the support of the north" Elaena said, her arm interlinked with Jacaerys, as they stared into the distance.

"My father brought king Jaehaerys and queen Alysanne to see the wall. His grace stood, at this very outlook, and watched as their dragons, the greatest power in the world, refused to cross it." Cregan said looking at the married couple.

Elaena turned her head away from Jacaerys side, now interested in Cregans words.

"Do you think my ancestors built a 700 foot wall of ice to keep our snow and savages?" Cregan said making Elaenas face drop in fear.

"What does it keep out?" Jacaerys asked looking at the man.

"Death" Cregan said.

Elaena stared at the man, his face showing a mixture of seriousness and fear, making her sigh and look at the snow once more.

"I have thousands of graybeards who've already seen to many winters. They are, well-honed." Cregan said.

"So they're old?" Elaena asked.

"I can ready them to match at once" Cregan said making the top smile.

"If your graybeards can fight the queen will have them" Jacaerys smiled.

"They will fight hard, like northerners" Cregan said making Elaena smile at the man.

"My lord?" A man said from behind them.

"A ravens arrived, urgent news from Dragonstone" he said handing it to Cregan.

Elaenas stomach dropped as she wondered what it might be, she looked at Jacaerys but he looked just as confused and worried as her, she watched as Cregan opened the letter, his face dropping as he looked at them with both sadness and shock.

"It is your brother, my prince, princess." He said with guilt.

"I'm so sorry"

And with that, they lives were changed forever.
And not in a good way.
