"It's okay." Camilla smiles ruefully at the younger girl that she loves so much. The girl she would do anything for.

The girl that she considers a daughter.

She cups her face in her hands and sadly wipes the tears off of her red cheeks, giving her a long kiss on the forehead. "Nothing in this world would ever make me love you any less."

"I-it's all my fault!" The girl shakes her head in denial. "You could've had more time. I'm so sorry. Please forgive me!" She pleads.

Camilla let's out a sad shaky laugh. "There's nothing to forgive my little love. It's my time. No one, not you, or me can do anything to change that. And it's okay."

"Please don't leave me." The younger girl cries out, her bottom lip trembling with every word. "We didn't get enough time."

"We have all the time in the world." Camilla whispers with a half smile. "But before that happens you need to live out your life, meet new people, forgive, and be happy..."

72 HOURS PRIOR...

Hope and Jace leave the mansion to meet up with the rest of their siblings for a day out.

Camilla had somehow convinced them that they needed to bond more as siblings, because 'Family is the one assurance in the world that you will never be alone.' As she said.

To which Hope cracked a joke about how all of the Mikaelson siblings still stuck around their father even after being put into a long sleep with a mystical dagger multiple times.

"Bloody hell." Klaus mumbles under his breath once they finally leave.

Swiftly turning the blonde around in his arms he keeps a firm hold on her waist with a genuine smirk. "I want to take you somewhere." He whispers softly.

Camilla raises a brow in question but nonetheless smiles softly at the soft side of the hybrid. "And where is that?"

"It's a surprise, I suppose you'll have to wait." Klaus teases, making Camilla pout.

"You know I hate surprises." She states, attempting to give him her famous puppy eyes.

"You know that little trick doesn't work on me anymore love." Klaus rolls his eyes playfully at the woman.

"Worth a try." She shrugs with a small laugh.

Klaus leads her towards his sleek black SUV and opens the door for her, making a gesture with his hand for her to enter.

"You know I was beginning to think you lost your touch, I've been opening my own door for years." She sighs dramatically, shaking her head in fake disappointment.

"My deepest apologies, a beautiful lady should never have to do such a thing." Klaus deepens his accent purposely making her giggle.

It had been a little over an hour and Klaus couldn't help but notice Cami staring at the side of his face in deep thought.

Placing his hand on her nearest thigh he gives her a small squeeze. "Penny for your thoughts?"

"You have billions in your bank account and you're offering me a penny?" She says in mock outrage.

He rolls his eyes at her dramatics and takes his hand off of her leg, successfully intertwining their hands and giving it a swift kiss. "What's really bothering you, love?"

Camilla turns her head to look at the scenery pass by, all of the trees were calm and still. "We haven't told the kids yet." She mumbles.

Klaus sighs and his shoulders visibly deflate at the thought of what he dreaded the most. "I know, they're all just so happy that you're back. How do we tell them it's not permanent?"

"I just have a feeling that we should tell them soon..." She trails off in uncertainty.

"You think your time is up soon then." He concludes with pursed lips.

She wordlessly nods and they sit in tense silence for about another fifteen minutes before Klaus parks the car.

"Where are we?" Camilla mumbles as she looks around at the scenery.

"Now don't tell me you forgot." Klaus puts a playful smile on his lips and holds his chest. "This was where our first date was."

"Our picnic." She awes and jumps out of the car. "Am I to assume there's food in your trunk?"

"And a blanket, can't forget about that now can we?" He chortles as she grimaces at the memory of scolding him.

'How in the world do you have a picnic with out a blanket!?" She had said, but nonetheless had an amazing time.

They walk towards the edge of the water and place a long dark blue blanket over the dying grass.

"I wish that we could stay like the forever." Camilla sighs in content as she leans into Klaus's chest.

"Me too love, me too." He mumbles into her hair. He wraps his around around her shoulders with her back still facing him and lays his chin on the top of her head.

"Do you think there's anything after death? I mean I know that I went to some weird witchy place the last time but what about now?" She sadly whispers. "What if there's truly nothing?"

"Then I'll make a heaven just for you and I, I'll build a kingdom and there will only be peace." He smiles at the thought.

"I'm scared." She finally admits out loud. "I'm scared that my babies are going to be all alone here, that I won't be able to comfort them when they're scared or chase away their monsters. I'm scared that all of our friends will forget about me. I'm so scared Nik." She croaks out and Klaus swears his heart shattered in his chest.

Squeezing her tighter he tries to reassure her. " The kids are all grown up and they'll always have each other. Alaric will still be here for another eighty years and my family will always assure their safety. I'm sure Damon and Kol will have them all in bubble wrap for years to come and no one could ever forget about you, love."

"Do you really want to die with me?" She pulls away so that they can maintain eye contact.

The amount of vulnerability she showed made his face soften even more as he cupped her cheeks. "I do, I think my purpose in this world is done if you're not here. I love all of the kids, I do. There's nothing I wouldn't do for them but, I need you."

She stares at him for a moment with a tear falling down her cheek before she closes her eyes. "Okay." She whispers.

"Okay?" He says shocked that she wasn't arguing with him. He had expected a whole other lecture or being screamed at for at least an hour.

"Yeah. I think I'd love to spend eternity in peace with you." She nods her head.

Camilla's phone rings and she grabs it from the picnic basket. "It's Lizzie."

Klaus hold his hand out with a humorous smile. "Let me answer it."

She hands him the phone and he places it up to his ear.

"Mom! We're at the Mystic grill and this girl is just staring at all of us and I wanted to confront her and tell her to stop being a creep! But Hope and Josie said that was rude but she was being rude! Ugh now I'm mad and I'm outside while everyone's still inside." She continues to rant much to Klaus' and Cami's amusement.

"Well as interesting as that is Love..." Klaus pauses when Lizzie groans. "Your mother and I are on an important date, could this possibly wait until later?"

"A date!" Lizzie yells. "Why wasn't I informed? It's only right for you to ask her daughter beforehand and then let me plan it."

"I can assure you I know your mother well enough to plan a good date." Klaus defends with a laugh.

"Mhm." She sasses. "What did you do? Dont say you took her to the movies." Lizzie grimaces.

"No, who do you take me for? Damon?" Klaus retorts.

"Ok good, not a picnic either right?" Lizzie giggles at the thought. "Because that's really cliche and mom doesn't like cliche.

Klaus' face drops and he glances at Camilla through the corner of his eye to see her attempting to stifle her laugh.

"I think she likes picnics very much." He argues.

"She told me that some guy took her on a picnic a long time ago and didn't even have the decency to bring a blanket, she also agreed with Aunt Caroline when she said Picnics were tacky and plain." She lists off multiple facts.

Camilla grabs the phone from a disbelieving Klaus and quickly says, "Love you baby! Buh bye." And hangs up.

She turns towards Klaus with a sheepish smile.

"You don't like picnics!" He point at her in annoyance and disbelief.

"I love your effort though." She playfully pouts at him.

"Oh sod off." He scoffs with a small smile.
