"Lizzie, Josie, wake up little Loves." Klaus's soothing voice is the first thing Lizzie Saltzman hears when she's nudged awake.
Sitting up Lizzie growls in annoyance. "You know I need eight hours of beauty sleep! Get out!" She whispers harshly.
Though the hybrid doesn't take it personal, everyone knows how Lizzie is when she first wakes up. She was so stubbornly painful to wake up that she hadn't even noticed Camilla standing in the doorway sharing an amused glance with Klaus.
"I think you'll want to see this Lizzie." Klaus once again softly nudges her shoulder, knowing Josie was sleeping heavier than a rock.
With a scowl on her face she sits back up immediately facing the door way. She stares at her mother for a good minute before rubbing her eyes harshly. Blinking a few more times she spares Niklaus a look before gritting out. "Now I'm seeing things! What did I say about my beauty sleep?"
Camilla stifles her laughter knowing now wouldn't be the right time to laugh and carefully takes a few steps towards the twins queen sized beds. "You're not seeing things Iz." She smiles fondly.
Gaping at the woman for a few seconds she snaps her head towards the smiling hybrid. Once he gives her a nod of encouragement shes suddenly feeling wide awake and squeals loudly. Hopping off of her bed she tackles her mother into a giant hug. Large sobs can be heard through out the room as Camilla attempts to soothe her.
"How are you here?" Lizzie chokes out, holding onto her mom for dear life.
"It's a long story baby and I'll tell it to you all later." She whispers into the blondes hair, sharing a gloomy look with Klaus.
"M-mom?" Josies tired voice can be heard from across the room. As she slowly sits up from her bed she screams. "Mom!" And runs to join in on the hug.
"My loves." Camilla cooes happily. She lifts her head slightly to see Klaus watching the three of them with a fond smile. "Oh come here." She sighs mockingly annoyed.
"How are you back?" Josie sniffles with a large smile on her face.
"I have a lot to explain but it's going to have to wait a little bit." Camilla brushes the hair out of the girls face.
"What do you mean?" Josie questions confused.
"I'm going away for a couple days but I promise I'll be back." Camilla smiles gently, ignoring Klaus' shocked and confused facial expression.
"You just got back and you wanna leave us again?" Lizzie questions outraged and hurt.
"My loves it's just some unfinished business of mine." Camilla informs them, making Klaus all the more skeptical.
"Promise you'll be back?" Lizzie questions.
Grabbing both of the twins hands she squeezes them in reassurance. "I promise."
Walking out of the room Klaus is the first to bombard her with questions. "Where are you going? You just quite literally rose from the dead."
"Like I said, just some unfinished business." She laughs lightly.
"And is this unfinished business life threatening in any way?" He furrows his brows.
"No." She giggles at his protectiveness.
"Well I'm coming with." He states firmly, yet his face falls when he sees her immediate disapproval.
"No you cannot come with." She says, crossing her arms in order to display her sternness.
"Camilla..." He trails off, his face turning from one of worried to scared.
Camilla notices his change of tone and walks closer to rub his arm in comfort. "Would it make you feel better if I brought Damon?" She questions.
Klaus grabs her by the hips and squishes her into his right embrace. "No." He bluntly states though she can sense that he's smiling. "It would make me feel better if I came with." He cheekily smiles.
Walking away with out turning around Camilla snorts. "You're not coming with."
"Love!" He calls out, hurriedly rushing after her with Camillas laughs echoing through out the halls.
Camilla later on is in her room packing a small suitcase for her trip when she hears a small knock on the door frame. Turning her head she finds Klaus Mikaelson watching her with a fond smile.
"I'm sorry if I upset you by saying you couldn't come... it's just. Something I can't do with you there." She explains with a small frown.
Taking a deep breath, Klaus sighs lowly. "I understand. Don't fret about it. I'll see you when you get back." He smiles. "When should I expect your arrival?"
"I'll be leaving tomorrow morning so you can see me off." She replies with a smile. "And I'll be returning late in the night, it shouldn't take longer than a day."
"So you're free tonight? Is that what I'm hearing?" His smile widens.
Camilla cocks an eyebrow at the hybrid attempting to stifle her own laugh. "Niklaus Mikaelson! I am not having sex with you tonight." She gasps in mock out rage.
Playfully rolling his eyes he takes a couple more steps into the room. "Get your filthy mind out of the gutter love. I'd like to take you somewhere."
Holding a hand out for her to hold, her face softens when she hears this. The man she fell in love with stood directly in front of her.
Gently taking his hand they manage to walk out of the school with out being bothered which came as a surprise to the both of them but they enjoyed it nonetheless. It wasn't often they got to spend there newfound time together.
"Where are you leading me Nik?" She questions with a sparkle of curiosity in her eyes.
"Patience love." He scolds with a smirk, opting Camilla to roll her eyes.
After about ten minutes they finally stop. Looking around Camilla narrows her eyes in confusion. Niklaus notices her expression and says, "I want to tell you a story."
Quickly speeding behind a tree he lays a blanket besides the tree and sits himself against it, gesturing for her to follow.
She slowly lowers herself between his legs and lays her back against his chest, Klaus slips both arms around her shoulders connecting them at the front.
"Once upon a time a lonely king wreaked havoc whenever he went. His family tried to help him find his peace but it seemed nothing could quell his paranoia nor rage. He locked his siblings away for many years in worry that they might finally see him for who he was. A monster. Years went by and he was starting to give up hope, until a woman stumbled into his life on accident. They never should've met, there are billions of people on the planet and yet this unlucky woman happened to meet him at just the right time. She brought the king Hope, she gave him a taste of what peace was like and she taught him how to do better. But no matter how much he grew to love her, he was insecure. Insecure that this was only temporary and she would leave him like everyone else. In the end he hurt her, he left her, and it became one of the biggest regrets of his life. Although his siblings forgave him and they were finally all on the same side, she was the only thing missing. Many years down the road the king returns to this town hoping not the see the woman's face, for it would bring him too much guilt and regret. But of course, she was there. She never left. And although he could see the hatred in her eyes, he swore he'd never hurt her again. He swore that he would protect her at all cost. He swore he would give his life for her" He finishes.
Camilla's cheeks are soaked with tears and she spins around to see his cheeks identical. Leaping into his embrace she sobs into his shoulder. "I love you so much." She sniffles.
"I love you too." He whispers into her hair. "Camilla..." he trails off.
Lifting her head she gives him a look as if to continue.
"If you die again." He chokes up. "I can't live forever with out you. I won't."
"We can't stop this Nik." She sends him a sad smile and cups his cheeks with her hands. She rubs his scruff with her thumbs waiting for his response.
"I'm saying love... that if you die, I want to die with you." He admits with a determined look in his eyes.
Camilla feels her whole body freeze. Her hand in mid air stopping herself from rubbing his cheeks again as she stares at the tree above his head blankly. No. This couldn't be happening. She wouldn't let him talk like this nor even attempt to follow her footsteps into death.
