It's the second day of school for the freshmen, including (Name). From eight grade to ninth grade. (Name) got herself ready and joined Howard in the kitchen.

"Got any plans for today?" She ask him as she feed herself some bacon and eggs with OJ.

"Aside from school? We're going to the arcade after, remember? And besides," He frowned with an annoyed look, "I bet you and Randy are finally going to snog for the first time."

(Name) raise her brow in confusion. "Snog? What do you— Oh! No! Howard, we're only best friends, remember? Just us, three best friends, enjoying our lives as ninth graders."

"Yeah right." Howard rolled his eyes before he finish his breakfast and grab his backpack.

(Name) finished hers and grab her own bag before they left the house and went to school in his dad's car.

"Excited for another day at school, kiddos?" Mort Weinerman asks them as he drive them to school.

"Oh well, the usual, Mr. Weinerman. It's just another day, as teenagers." (Name) replied as she check her bag for anything she might have forgotten but apparently nothing seems to be out of place.

"Well, you two have fun at school. Don't talk to strangers, okay?"

"Got it!" Both (Name) and Howard reply before they were dropped off in front of the school and waited for Randy.

On another point of view.

As Randy prepare himself for school, ate his breakfast and he look at his phone and went straight into his gallery, boy there are a lot of photos of (Name). Some were accidentally taken but they were worth keeping.

Most of them are just her smiling and/or laughing(adorably), the rest are just her hanging out with some neighborhood kids he never seen before.

Whenever he sees her, his heart would skip a beat and he just stares at her non-stop until he knows he had enough. His stomach would feel like there's butterflies inside and his whole body would just go numb, his face would heat up and he would just smile subconsciously. Sometimes she would glance at his way and he'd look away instantly with a red face.

He told Howard about it and he said, "Dude, you have a crush on her. It's super obvious."

"Seriously?"

"SERIOUSLY!"

Howard exclaimed, throwing his hands in the air in exasperation.

Randy thought about it for a moment until he turn his head towards her again. His cheeks heat up again and he has this smile on his face that literally annoy the heck out of Howard.

"Cunningham, i swear, one day, i will wipe that smile off of your face!" Howard grumbled.

"What smile? I'm not smiling, you are." Randy say to him with a loving tone.

It was then he realized that he doesn't just like-like her, he's in love with her. It took all of his strength not to let Howard know about it. Well, he knows about him like-like-ing her but not the "love" part.

He let out a blissful sigh before he shove his phone in his backpack with the rest of his books and left on his bike to go to school.

When he finally arrived. He saw (Name) standing next to Howard, waiting for him.

'Oh my gosh, she was waiting for me!' He thought as he squeal on the inside before he approach them.

"Hey guys!"

They look up and smiled. More like, Howard looking annoyed and (Name) looking happy to see him.

"Cunningham! We're going to be late and on our first day! Come on!" Howard yelled before he grab Randy and (Name)'s hands and ran inside into their designated classroom.

While running, Randy look at (Name) and smiled. "How was your first day? Did you have a good time?"

She turn to him and smiled. "Oh, yeah! I did. Thanks for asking. And you do realize we literally went through the same schedule yesterday, right Randy?"

"Pfft! I knew that!" He said, looking away blushing in embarrassment.

"Found it!" Howard exclaimed, interrupting them and practically threw them into their seats.

Randy was so happy that Howard "purposely" sat him down next to (Name).

Once everyone was there. The man on the front desk stood up with a big pile of papers on his desk. Known as Mr. Bannister.

"Welcome, freshmen. I'm sure you're bummed to be back in school." But then he shouted, "WELL, SO AM I!"

A kid flew off of his seat and landed on the back of the class. Shocking both Randy and (Name) when he flew pass them, they turn back to the man.

"Five hundred words! What did you do on your summer vacation!" And then he sat down and staple a paper loud enough to make your eardrums ring.

Randy went to grab his pencil but it was nowhere in his backpack. He cursed himself for forgetting to bring the most simplest thing to school.

'Oh! I know! I'll ask (Name) for a pencil. She'll hand one to me unlike Howard' He thought as he turn to (Name) and tap her shoulder lightly.

'Oh my gosh! She's so beautiful!' He gushed in his head, biting his bottom lip(to prevent himself from squealing) while blushing.

She turn to him with a kind smile on her face. "Yeah, Randy?" She whispered.

Oh how it drove him crazy when she say his name so adorably. He shook off his thoughts and smile(normally).

"Can I borrow your pencil? I forgot to bring mine." He asks quietly, scratching the back of his head nervously.

She reached into her bag and found a spare pencil, she hand it to Randy, who carefully took it and smiled. "You can keep it if you want. My pen literally never runs out."

Truth was told. Her pen wasn't so ordinary. It was an endless tube full of ink. Thanks to a fairy she saved from one of her amazing adventures, she wishes for a pen that never run out and other things she have always wanted.

(Luckily she had 10 wishes)

"Thanks." Randy thanked her as he hold her pencil in his hand. She turn back to her paper and start writing down on what she did on her summer vacation.

Randy look down at the pen he's holding, mesmerized. It was identical to hers and was only touched once but it was worth keeping.

He thought for a moment before he start writing.

'Name: Randy Cunningham. Grade: Nine. Title: What I did on my summer...'

Before he can finish, Howard came up to him ever so suddenly.

"Cunningham." Howard called in a hush tone. "Let me copy off ya."

Randy lean back against his seat. "Howard, we can't turn in the exact same essay."

"We had the exact same summer." Howard told him, standing up from his knees.

Suddenly a shoe was thrown at Howard's head before it bounced off towards the back of the class.

The trio look up and turn to the teacher. "No talking!" He yelled.

Howard glared at him as he rub his head to ease the pain. (Name) look up from her nearly finished essay and turn to them.

"Randy, what did we do on the third day before school?" She whisper, her head rather low to be unnoticed by the teacher.

Randy's head immediately turn to her, catching Howard off guard when he just snapped his head towards her like that.

"How can you forget? We went on that anime event you wanted to go so badly. You wore a black attack on titan hoodie and I wore the exact same thing since I lost the (favorite challenge) challenge from the day before. We got around the place and we found a game where you get a human size Pochita if you win. We took a bunch of pictures with some cosplayers there, we ate some delicious japanese food and i bought us boba milk teas," Randy place the back of his hand by his mouth and whisper, "we used Howard's money by the way because he had more than we thought he'd bring with him that day." Then he brought his hand down to his lap. "And I won you that human size Pochita plush at the end of the day since that was the last spot we stopped by before we have to leave since the mall was closing a little sooner than we thought." He said, in full detail.

(Name) smiled and nod gratefully, not suspicious of how he knew every single detail. "Thanks, Randy." And she starts writing it all down.

Randy smirk proudly at himself but when he turn to Howard, his face was in confusion and annoyance.

"How did you remember all that?" He ask Randy, with his hand still on the back of his head.

Randy grins and roll his eyes. "Of course. It was the best day of her life and mine too. At least you had some fun, right?"

Howard grumbles before he sat down on his seat again and grab his pencil from the desk.

Randy pat the pencil against his lip. 'Well, it wasn't the exact same thing that happened'

As (Name) finish her essay, she turn to Randy and Howard. She chuckled when Howard let out a groan of frustration but when she turn her eyes to Randy, he was so focused on his essay that he even doodled on the top without even knowing.

(Name) smiled softly at him and turn to her paper to reread the whole thing, her eyes not leaving him until seconds later. She grab her paper from the desk and...

"Pencils down!"

She and the other students were nearly blown off of their seats, including Howard but Randy was too focus to even notice.

Once he snap out of his thoughts, he look down at his paper in panic. He wrote about how he was chosen to be the next Ninja and the amount of love for (Name) he poured towards the paper.

Mr. Bannister walk towards (Name)'s desk and she hand her summer essay to him.

Mr. Bannister turn to Randy, who suddenly tear up his paper into bits and put them in his hand.

(Name)'s eyes flew wide, her jaw dropped slightly and her glasses crook a little to the side in shock.

Mr. Bannister look at the pieces of paper before he look at Randy. "What's this supposed to be?" He ask, demanding an answer.

"Uh, my commentary on the fleeting nature of summer?" Randy quickly lied, grinning nervously.

Mr. Bannister thinks for a moment before he said, "Mmm… excellent use of metaphor!"

Randy and (Name) turn to each other and high fived. "Aced it!" Randy exclaimed in victory.

"I'll give you a B." He added as he walk past the both of them.

"B-ced it!" Randy exclaim again as Howard and (Name) smile at him.

"Why did you tear up your paper when you literally wrote 500 word essay?" (Name) ask him, her eyebrow raised.

"Because I realize that my summer went on amazing thanks to you guys and I can't just write it down on a piece of paper." He quickly lied again, though giving a genuine smile as he do.

(Name) shake her head in amusement before she chuckled. "Well, whatever you wrote must be half of your summer."

"Uh, (Last name), do you have a eraser i can borrow?" Howard ask, leaning forward against his desk as he look at her.

(Name) rolled her eyes and hand him her eraser. She reached out to him and he reached out to her. Randy took a sneaky swift of her perfume and smiled giddily before they pull away.

"Thanks (Last name)." He thanked before he use the eraser.

"No problem, Weinerman." (Name) said as Mr. Bannister finished collecting the papers.

It was time for the freshman to leave the homeroom and go about their days. Randy, Howard and (Name) walked out as a blonde haired boy ran pass them, holding his back.

"Go away, Bash! I don't want a wedgie!" He yelled.

Then a bigger male who's a brunette stopped right in front of them, holding a ripped up underwear in his hand.

"I already gave you a wedgie! I just wanna give you your change!" He yelled back and chase after him again.

"Can we talk about this Ninja situation?" Howard suddenly started a conversation, walking away while tapping his chin.

(Name) watches at him in confusion as Randy start stuttering nervously.

"Uh, Ninja situation – there is no Ninja situation!" Randy told him as he and (Name) follow Howard to who knows where down the hall.

"Exactly! The 'No Ninja' situation! We've been in Norrisville High for two days, and we haven't seen this guy once!" Howard exclaimed like its an obvious topic for (Name).

"Who's the ninja again?" (Name) ask, looking at Randy.

"Hang on a second, Howard." He said to his best friend before he turn to (Name). "You see, (Name), the Ninja is the one who protects us from the forces of evil, like robots or monster. It's kind of his thing. We saw him once when we were in kindergarten and it was the Bruce! But that was the last time we saw him."

"Oh.. so he's like Norrisville high's protector? He doesn't protect anywhere else than this town?" (Name) asks, tilt her head to the side in confusion.

Randy held back a squeal of adoration.

"Uh... Probably. But maybe it's because it only happens around the school though. Oh and just give me a sec." Randy then turn to Howard. "I think he has to wait for, like, a monster… or a robot to attack."

"Why aren't you madder about this? We are his number one fans!" Howard ask in disbelief and frustration as the same kid and bully go on in the background.

"I mean, it's not like he can just smoke bomb on by for a meet 'n' greet. Or…can he?" Randy shrugged, muttering the last two words.

"Back at my place, we have a hero too. But when she finally finished off the final boss, she kind of vanished." (Name) told them, rubbing her hand nervously.

Of course, she was talking about herself. She's worried about her hometown but right now, she's going to have to help protect this town.

"Wait. (Last name), you have a superhero back at your hometown?" Howard ask as he and Randy turn to me in shock.

"Well, yeah. She's been our protector since. I guess since I was born? Maybe earlier? I don't know. The point is, maybe she vanished because she's protecting other places and that she knows that now, my hometown is safe from danger."

"Then why are you here?" Howard ask out of curiosity. Randy found it rude and hit his arm, rather angrily.

"Ow! What!? It was only a question."

"I, uh, came here because well... I got lost." (Name) chuckled nervously, hoping they'd buy her lie.

"You got lost? You? The smartest and prettiest girl we know, got lost for no reason?" Randy asks in surprise. He and Howard did bought her lie. Randy was rather worried but Howard was confused as heck.

"Yeah...? I don't know how either though." She said with a bit of uncertainty, "Maybe something must've happened to me before and then I ended up here."

"Which is good because, you meet us!" Randy beamed as he wrap his arm around her shoulder. "If it weren't for you, we would've never beaten that Grave puncher 3 boss level!"

"Yeah! It's like you know how to beat it without even playing it!" Howard agreed with the same amount of enthusiasm.

(Name) take this as a compliment and smiled. "Aww, thanks you guys." She awwed before the finally arrived at the cafeteria.

The three of them got each a tray full of delicious lunch. They look around and finally found an empty seat to sit and enjoy their meal.

Randy look around and found a rest room just a few feet away from their seat.

"Hang on, i gotta go to the can. Be right back." Randy excused himself and he dashed off. Not before he glance at (Name)'s beautiful face and finally disappear into the men's restroom.

Howard hums as he finishes his food, he greedily look at Randy's lunch, which is still full. "Cunningham, I know you're in the can, but if you don't want me to eat your tater lumps, just say so!" He said rather quietly.

(Name) narrowed her eyes at him and smack his hand with her yogurt spoon.

"Ow!" He was about to protest but then someone yelled.

"SMOKE BOMB!"

And then, out of the blue, the Ninja appeared on the table they were seated.

Everyone let out a gasp of either surprise or excitement. (Name) was just too surprised to even say anything. The red and black color was just like her suit's. If she strikes as (Hero name) and everyone sees her wearing the same color, who knows what they'll think.

"Hello, students! 'T is I, the Ninja!" The Ninja say heroically causing the students to cheer for him.

Some stood up from their seats and ran towards the table and some just watch from where they seated.

The Ninja turn around to (Name) and his expression turned into a flirtatious one. "Hey, how are you doing pretty girl?" He greeted and he send her a wink.

Randy was a nervous wreck but when he goes Ninja, he has all the courage he needed to flirt with her.

"H-hi..." (Name) greeted back. Breathless by his sapphire eyes.

'Those eyes... I know them! But it can't be Randy... Can it?' She thought as Howard climb up their table after The Ninja pull away from her, his eyes still glued to her (Eye color) ones.

"Yes! Finally! Nin-ja!" He started yelling to the bathroom. "Hey, cork it, Cunningham, the Ninja just showed up!"

The whole school gathered around the Ninja as he pull a bunch of stunts in the cafeteria. Mostly, he was doing it to impress the one and only (Name) who he admires.

"Now, as a ninja, I must be prepared at any moment to do THIS," The Ninja punches the air, "and THIS," He kicks the air, "and how could I forget THIS?" He kicked the air and landed on the table with a pose.

Howard has his elbows on the table with his chin on his hands while watching the Ninja with so much admiration. (Name) watches with a smile. The smile when you watch your favorite show live on your television.

The students roar with cheers. The Ninja turn around to (Name). Her smile made his stomach flutter and his heart race like a speeding bullet, he was blushing under that mask of his.

He turn to everyone cool-y and said,

"Well, you've been great, everybody! See you next time! Remember to tip those lunch ladies! SMOKE BO–"

Before he can smoke bomb away, Howard grab hold of his leg and started begging.

"No, wait, Ninja! My buddy and I have been dying to meet you since we were kids! Please, just, hang on, until he gets back?"

"Randy and Howard are big fans of yours, Ninja. I guess you can say you got another one...?" She said, also silently begging for The Ninja to stay a little longer until Randy comes back.

Touched by this, The Ninja scratch his head nervously. "Aw, that's really cool of you." He started speaking in a heroically deep voice. "But I can't! I must go!"

And then, suddenly, a giant mutant robot tear down the school's cafeteria doors, along with the walls to let itself fit through.

Every student and teachers ran away from the monster as it start to cause havoc in the cafeteria.

The Ninja's eyes gleam with excitement. "Oh, my first monster fight! So honkin' cool!"

He realized that if he doesn't tell (Name) to evacuate, she might get hurt. The Ninja turn to her and spoke in his heroic deep voice.

"You, pretty girl, and boy i never met before, and everyone else! Get to safety. I'll handle the monster!"

(Name)'s heart skipped a beat when he called her "Pretty girl".

'What the heck?' She thought in confusion before she watches The Ninja do a "Ninja flip" and landed in front of the monster.

"Monster, get ready to get..." The Ninja was about to finish until the Krackenstein punches him through a wall, where he eventually crashes into a row of lockers.

The Ninja yelled in pain, "ooooaaaahhhhhh…"
