Y/n pov:

After the game me, Scotty, Benny and Ham were all walking home. Scotty and Ham were in their own conversation which meant it was just me and Benny in comfortable silence.

"Well this is my stop, you did pretty good today Smalls, even you n/n." I smiled at ham "thanks ham." I said I unison with Scotty.

"So uhm y/n, do you have a boyfriend back in your hometown?" Benny asked nervously. I shook my head laughing. "Nah, no guys in New York wanted a girl who plays ball. Plus all the boys there were ugly."

We all laughed. Soon we all got home and I ran inside. "DAD DAD!! YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT I DID!" I screamed while running to my room to get the broken ball from earlier.

I ran into my dads office and jumped on the empty spot on his desk, setting the cover and guts of the ball right in front of him.

"You did that?" He asked examining the ball. "Yup! All me!" "Y/n this is amazing! Your granddad would be proud." I just smiled, knowing he was right. I grabbed the bits of the ball and hopped off his desk.

"I'm going to make some Mac and cheese then go to bed." "Ok night love you champ." "Love you dad." I left his office and went downstairs to the kitchen to make a Mac and cheese cup.

After it was done I ran upstairs with it and plopped on my bed. As I was eating, a pebble hit my window. I opened my curtains to see Benny in his window smiling at me.

I opened my window and leaned against the frame. "Hey n/n, I was wondering if possibly wanted to sneak out in a few minutes, I have something cool to show you." I nodded and quickly finished my food.

"Good night dad love you!!" I yelled. I shut my door and sat in my window frame, ready to jump. "Wait, left me get down first I'll catch you." I rolled my eyes laughing. "What, are you my knight in shining armor?" I asked playfully.

I hadn't noticed he jumped and just jumped down myself, expecting to land on the ground, I actually landed in a pair of arms. "Indeed I am." He said with a smile and obnoxious wink. I started fanning myself as if I'm fangirling.

"Wow Benny thank you so much! Oh what ever would I do without you?" I said in a high pitched girly voice. He laughed and put me down.

"Come on let's go." He grabbed my hand and we took off running. His hands were warm and callused against my cold, soft ones.

Benny pov:

I planned on taking y/n to the sandlot to watch the sunset/star gaze. Her soft hands felt perfect with my callused ones. Ugh! I need to stop thinking about this! Her! Any girl! Benjamin Rodriguez has no time for girls!

"Benny boy what are we doing here?" She asks laughing. I just smile and drag her to the outfield then point to the sky, changing different shades of yellow and orange and pink. "Wow..." is all she says.

I just dropped off y/n and luckily she got in without waking anyone. I walked the the front door quietly and went to my room. I changed then just laid there on my bed, happy for no reason.

Y/n pov:

I woke up at 7 am and ran to take a shower. After showering I went back into my room and changed into a Yankees crop top, shorts, black converse and a blue faded Yankees hat.

I didn't brush my hair all that much so it's pretty wavy and ran downstairs. I quickly ate cereal then wrote on a not for my dad saying '𝑡𝑎𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑟𝑜𝑥𝑦 𝑜𝑛 𝑎 𝑤𝑎𝑙𝑘 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝑔𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑙𝑜𝑡. 𝐿𝑜𝑣𝑒, 𝑦/𝑛' then grabbed Roxy's leash, clipped it on then walked outside.

As I'm walking past Benny's house a maybe 16 year old girl walks out and walks up to me. "Hi I'm Maria, Benny's older sister, you must be y/n right?" She asked. I smiled and nodded. "Benny talks about you a lot. I think he has a crush." She teased

I laughed and shook my head. "Benny doesn't have time for girls, all he cares about is baseball." Then Roxy barked. Maria smiled "Can I pet it?" She asked, which I replied by bending down an petting roxy with her.

"Her names Roxy, I walked her atleast 2 times a week and was thinking about bringing her to the sandlot for a bit." She nodded then stood up. "I could go get Benny if you'd like." "Sure." Then she ran in the house.

Just then Scotty came over. "Hey y/n! Can I pet her?" He asked I nodded and he sat down petting Roxy who was loving it. Then Benny came out too. "Do you guys wanna go to the sandlot with me to run around a bit with her?" I asked.

Benny and Scotty got up nodding and we started walking to the the sandlot with Roxy trailing ahead of us.

After dropping off Roxy and returning back to the sandlot we all started playing. We got a couple home runs and then it was Hams turn to bat. He did the Babe Ruth bat point which made me laugh.

Soon there was a loud CRACK! As ham ran the bases cheering everyone was throwing there gloves and yelling at him. I saw the ball go over the fence and decided to go grab it.

"I GOT IT!" I yelled almost to the fence. Soon everyone was telling me to stop but I ignored them. "𝗪𝗔𝗜𝗧 𝗬/𝗡!!" As soon as I was going to jump, arms wrapped around my waist and pulled me down. "Guys I was getting the ball!" I complained.

"You can't!" Ham yelled. I didn't realize that Benny still had his arms around my waist as I stared at the boys. "Why not?"

"The beast." They all said in unison. "What?" I asked. "Camp out." They all said again. I sighed and DeNunez must of heard.

"It's a big sleepover that only happens for important stuff in Timmy and Tommy's treehouse. Ask your folks if you can come real quick we'll wait here." I nodded then turned to Benny. "Your arms are still around my waist." He let go and I ran home.

Benny pov:

"Your arms are still around my waist." She said. I quickly let go feeling my cheeks heat up as she ran off. As soon as she left all the boys 'oooooooooh' in unison.

"Shut it!" I snapped. "I don't have time for girls!" Ham just shook his head and laughed. "That doesn't mean you can't have a crush, Benny." Ham said.

"Yeah, yeah your whipped." Yeah yeah said. I just sighed knowing they might be right.

Y/n pov:

I ran inside the house and straight to my dads office. "Dad dad dad! I have a really important question!" I yelled sitting by him. He nodded for me to go ahead. "Well the boys have this thing called a campout where they spend the night in a treehouse but only for something important and they invited me and before you say anything it's tomorrow night so we can maybe have a bonfire and you can meet them and I'll also do whatever you want!" I blurted quickly.

My dad sighed. "First I need to meet them so we're having a bonfire, second all your chores need to be done and third, I want you back by or before noon before you go to the sandlot." He said. I jumped up and hugged him, then ran outside to the sandlot,

By time I got there I was out of breath and panting by the boys who were fanning me with there hats. When I caught my breath I stood up and smiled. "My old man said I could but he has to meet you guys so we're gonna have a bonfire tonight." I said

Everyone smiled and said they would be there. "Why don't we all go home now, change then meet up here to head to her house?" Scotty suggested. We all agreed and started walking home. Me and Benny were ahead of Scotty and ham and were just walking in comfortable silence.

Benny pov:

All of us were walking to y/n's house for the bonfire. We entered through the wooden gate to be greeted by a big bonfire, Roxy running around, and her dad making sure the fire doesn't go out.

"Hi dad! Boys take a seat, and don't spit when I introduce you." She says. We all sit around the fire and talk for a bit. Soon she's pulling her dad by us and smiles.

"Dad, these are the sandlot boys, Benny, he lives next door, Scotty, he lives across the street, Timmy and Tommy, they're the ones that have the treehouse we're having the campout in, Bertram, Ham, Kenny, Yeah Yeah, and squints. Boys, this is my dad, Lucas."

We all said hi and y/n ran inside to get stuff for 'pudgie pies' leaving us alone with her dad. "I know for a fact that one of you will most likely end up with my daughter one day, so you better treat her right." We all nod our heads and the boys were smirking at me which I sent them a sent glare.

Soon y/n ran back out with bread, butter, chocolate, marshmallows, and peanut butter. "Ok, have you guys ever had pudgie pies before?" Only ham raised his hand and her jaw dropped. "YOU GUYS ARE SO MISSING OUT!! Ham! Help me make the boys pudgie pies, were doing chocolate, marshmallows and peanut butter. Wait nobody's allergic to peanuts right?"

Everyone shook their head no and ham went up to help y/n as the rest of us talk baseball with her dad, talk with each other, or play fetch with Roxy. After 10 minutes they were done and we all sat down to eat.

"Ok they're hot so just take your fork and use that." She said taking a bite along with ham. I took a bite first and gasped. "Guys! This is amazing!" I yelled. Soon everyone else took a bite and everyone 'mmmmmm''d, making y/n giggle. "Good right?" She asked.

"Yeah, yeah it's delicious!" Yeah yeah said. We all nodded agreeing.

When we all went home, I just laid on my bed staring at the ceiling, I couldn't stop thinking of y/n. What if her dad was right and one of us do end up with her? What if I end up with her? No, that's stupid, not only do I have to focus on baseball, but she would never like me. Sighing, I rolled over and went to bed, dreaming about her.
