Today felt strange. Jeno Lee, your boyfriend, hadn't texted you all day, and when you texted him, he didn't respond.

When Haechan arrived, you stopped him immediately. "Hey, do you know where Jeno is?"

"Hey, I just got here, how would I know?" he shrugged. "He usually sleeps at your house, right?"

"Did something happen?" Haechan asked.

"He didn't reply to my messages," you replied, feeling a bit worried.

Haechan looked at you confused. Jeno had never acted like this before. There must be something you did to upset him.

"i think you should go to his first class."

"I think you should go to his first class," Haechan suggested.

You agreed and hurried to Jeno's first class. You smiled when you saw him already sitting there. You entered the classroom and walked up to him.

"What are you doing here?" he asked, looking at you strangely. Before you could say anything, the professor entered the room, and you took the seat beside him.

"Let's start class, everyone," the professor announced, looking slightly irritated.

You decided to join his class, and sit beside him the entire lesson.

You can see her slightly irritated face. You wondering why he feels that way.

"Jeno, is there something I did to upset you?"  you whispered.

"If you want to know that badly, shut up and wait until class ends."

His cold words were unfamiliar to you. He had always spoken so calmly and sweetly before. You nodded and stood up, leaving the class.

After waiting for an hour or more, Jeno's class finally ended. You tried to talk to Jeno, but he brushed you off and pulled you aside.

"Jeno," you said, holding his hands, but he just pulled away.

"YN," you looked at him, confused, as he pulled you somewhere.

"Let's talk, Jeno."

Jeno let go of your hands. "Let's break up."

Confusion washed over you. Today, Jeno didn't seem like the person you knew. "Jeno, what do you mean? We were doing fine, why are you—"

"You cheated with Jaemin, right? No, I mean, you were with him in the first place, and I'm just anybody who's in between you guys."

"Okay, first, that's not true. I never cheated on you with anybody-"

"Bullshit! I saw you kiss him yesterday."

Jeno wanted to go to your house because you didn't answer his texts. He was just worried. But it surprised him when he saw his best friend kissing his girlfriend yesterday.

He almost knocked Jaemin out yesterday for kissing you, but he saw how you also enjoyed it. So, all this time, you liked him, huh? 

"I-I will explain, okay? That's not all you saw," 

FLASHBACKN [ON] : yesterday

"Okay, here we are. At my front door."

Jaemin was still holding your hand. Warm. That's how you felt. You felt it was warm and comfortable, indeed because Jaemin was a childhood friend. Right?

"Jaemin, you're still holding my hand."

You looked at the link of your hands. Jaemin chuckled and let go of your hand. 

"Sorry." You nodded.

Jaemin still stood in front of you. Was it you or had he just become a handsome grown boy now? "Has anyone ever said that you're handsome?" you asked while trying to tidy up his bangs.

Jaemin blushed. His heart was beating rapidly. He couldn't lie that he liked his childhood friend, YN.

"I like you."

It felt like a storm just happened. It didn't make you happy at all. Your fingers that were still in Jaemin's black hair stiffened. This isn't what you'd expect.

"Yah, Na Jaemin, what's wrong? Did you hit yourself against walls or something?" you asked, shakingly.

He took your hands. Pulled you closer to him. His beautiful eyes searched for your reaction.

"I'm sorry." Then he kissed you. You could feel his real feelings through the kiss. No, this is wrong. You have Jeno already.

You pushed him. "Are you out of your mind? I'm with your best friend, you dumbass," you hit his shoulder.

You couldn't believe what he just did to you. You can't. It confused your feelings.

"I don't care. I met you first! Jeno wouldn't know you without me, right? So, he is the one who should be left, YN."

You saw Jaemin was confused. He looked angry and disappointed.

"Please get out of here," you tried to turn around and wanted to go away from Jaemin, but he suddenly pulled your hand and made you crash into his hard body.

"No. You should break up with Jeno."

You tried to free yourself. But Jaemin still held your hand tightly. You could see Jaemin's angry face.

But why was he angry about it?

Wasn't it his fault for not saying earlier?

"Jaemin, please. You hurt me." Jaemin, who was angry, softened his heart to see your watery eyes. He loved you. He didn't want you to get hurt.

"Sorry."

You sighed.

"Sorry, Jaemin. But I can't leave Jeno."

"Why?"

Why? Yes, that's a tough question. Jeno was always there when Jaemin was busy leaving you, whether it's to play or meet a girl he likes. Jeno was always there and cheered you up when you were sad.

"i love him."

Jaemin smiled bitterly. Turns out he was too late to confess. So far, the person who was always there to help him already had a man who was better than him.

"Okay. If that's what you say, then I will take my leave."

You hug him.

You hugged him.

Jaemin was a kind-hearted boy who always showed you how to act to be a kind person. You were a childish person who was always nagging and angry. But since you met Jaemin, he showed you how to be calm and patient. He always told you that it's okay to take it slow, you're still on the process.

"Please keep in touch. I can't lose you."

"Always, YN."

FLASHBACK  [OFF] : yesterday

Jeno look at you, disappointment appeared in his eyes. 

"Jaemin needs me to be his fake girlfriend to get away from his ex, okay? And yesterday was the last time, and he-"

"I don't want to hear it. I've seen enough," he said, disappointment evident in his eyes.

"But Jaemin and I—we didn't—" you tried to explain, but Jeno wouldn't listen.

"I don't want to hear his name, YN. My heart is hurt enough to remember yesterday's scene. And also, you didn't tell me anything about this fake girlfriend thing. it makes it worse."

You couldn't hold back your tears. You hurt Lee Jeno, who always gave everything to you.

Jeno still looked at you, and you didn't say anything. It made him sad to know that the relationship must be over by now.

"Goodbye, YN. Thank you for showing me what love means," Jeno said before turning and walking away, leaving you heartbroken and alone.
