It was horrifying. Everything happened in the blink of an eye, so fast that you couldn't even react properly. In what felt like one second, Jason had hit Gareth making him crash into his drumkit, before pinning him to the ground. He was demanding to know where Eddie is, threatening to break Gareth's hand. Gareth obeyed, telling him about Dustin and how he was searching for Eddie as well, which made Jason let go. Everyone started leaving after the attack had created a dull atmosphere, which left you alone with your injured boyfriend.
There was one thought that wouldn't leave your mind though. Why did Lucas Sinclair, who was also in Hellfire Club, pretend like he knew the guys? Why was he just standing beside the scene only watching what was happening, not trying to help in any way?
As for the moment, you were hovering over Gareth, tending to his wounds while he was sitting on a chair in his living room.
"Unlike after your other fights, there luckily aren't that many injuries. Your lip is slightly busted, your nose was bleeding until a few minutes ago and your hand is swollen. I'll get you an ice pack so it doesn't keep swelling, after that I'll quickly clean up your face.", you sighed, and Gareth nodded.
Making your way through the kitchen you grabbed a handkerchief and held it under the stream of water, grabbing an ice pack out of the freezer after that. It felt cold in your hands, and you shivered a bit. You walked back to your boyfriend and handed him the cool pack, making him hold it against his other hand. You used the wet handkerchief to clean up the blood from under his nose, as well as the blood on his lip.
"He really got you good, Gar. Does it still hurt?", you asked, and he shrugged.
"I guess it's not as bad as it was. Still stings a little though.", and you gritted your teeth.
"Stupid Jason always has to use violence to get what he wants. He never realizes how unlikeable it makes him.", you said while holding your hand to your head.
"It's just the way he is. Let's forget about it for now.", the curly haired boy in front of you said, and you agreed.
"I wish to be as unbothered as you when I grow up.", you grinned in a playful tone, and he chucked.
The rest of the day, the two of them had a movie marathon, making fun of the stupidest scenes. It distracted them from the previous incident, and soon enough, both of them fell asleep, Y/N cradling Gareth in their arms.
Everything was okay.
Time skip! This is kinda after the stuff happened so everyone's going to school again
The events were long forgotten, you were both at school now. You had your first two periods together, then it was time for lunch. The line wasn't long so you didn't have to wait to get your food. You took your seats at your table next to each other and started eating, until a certain someone appeared.
"Hey everyone!", Lucas cheered as he sat down, making everyone send glares over to him. You were the only person who pitied him, trying to see from his direction. The only thing that you didn't understand was...
Why did he pretend like he didn't know us?
"Hello there, Lucas.", you greeted him carefully, noticing the way, Gareth turned his head to look at you.
"How are you guys?", he asked and Gareth scoffed.
"What?", he said confusedly, making your boyfriend chuckle.
"You're asking us how we are after you basically said that you knew none of us and just watched how Jason proceeded to force me into telling him where Eddie could be? Did you not care about anything we could've felt?", he said, and Lucas' smile faded.
"Guys, I-I didn't mean it like that-", he stuttered but stopped after he saw the looks on everyone's faces.
"Lucas, I know that you were put in a lot of stress in that very moment. You were both, a Hellfire Club Member, as well as a Hawkins Tiger. So how could you decide that easily? The only thing I don't understand is, why did you pretend like you only knew us from your sister? Are we not friends?", you spoke up, and Lucas lowered his gaze in guilt.
"I-I just wanted the guys to see me as a cool person. I don't know what came over me in that situation, I couldn't even think clear. I just know that I'm sorry for everything, as well as for not doing anything when I had the chance.", he said quietly, and you smiled at him encouragingly.
"Look guys, he apologized and I am certain that he meant what he said. Wouldn't it be nicer if we all forgot about it and just started hanging out normally again?", you said trying to compromise, and you could hear grumpy noises of agreement.
"Well then Lucas, I guess you're forgiven.", you smiled, and Lucas hesitantly smiled back.
"Thank you, everyone. And again, I'm sorry."
You nodded as he apologized once again, and you felt Gareth take your hand from beside you. He gave you an impressed look with a thumbs up, and you giggled.
I guess he was forgiven.
