At long last, the pair arrived at the park. Because it is Saturday, there is a fair amount of foot traffic in the area.

The two proceed to walk in the pedestrian lane despite the fact that it is cramped.

They walk into the grassy area where kids are playing tag and soccer.

Some people are sitting on picnic blankets with baskets of food, while the two of them are there with hardly anything.

❝So, what exactly are we doing here,❞
Soohyeon asks Jake. It sounded as though she was both puzzled and impatient at the same time.

Jake gives her a reassuring glance and then gives his response,
❝We might need to wait here for a bit, I want you to see something later.❞

He removes his coat and lays it down on the ground across from him.

Soohyeon is expecting that he will take a seat on it, but instead, he chooses to take a seat next to it, leaving the jacket vacant.

❝Let's sit down for a bit, should we?.❞
While glancing up at her, he pats the jacket beside him.

In reminiscence of a scene from a romantic film she had watched, Soohyeon felt a faint flush rise to her cheeks.

❝Soohyeon. Helloo?❞
The sight of Jake's wave brought her back to earth. Without wasting any more time, She slumps to the floor and gulps.

As she takes in their surroundings, she took comfort in the happy smiles of the people she sees entertaining themselves at the park with their loved ones.

The loud background noise enters her ears; The murmurs of the kids, chirping of the birds, laughs of the adults, andβ€”

❝So Soohyeon,❞-and Jake Sim.

❝You talked about knowing me at school, where was it again that you met me?❞ He asked, looking down at me.

❝Hm. You played for the school's soccer team and I saw you at the finals. I think the school invited every student since the match was set in a stadium.❞

She's searching through her thoughts for any and all memories she can recall.

Jake nods and smiles; it's nice to know that she recalls their last tournament, which was one of the most exciting and memorable experiences of his academic career.

❝I also remember you being in school too. I found our batch's yearbook. You used to have very short hair. and tie it up despite not being able to gather all your hair.❞ He stops,

And continues,

❝That's why I didn't notice you in the restaurant,❞

Jake has a wry smile on his face as he recalls her previous appearance.

❝Your short hair was cute. But long hair is pretty on you.❞ He continues, causing Soohyeon to feel a fresh surge of adrenaline.

❝Oh by the way, now that I remember about it, we spoke to each other. Only on one time, though.❞

❝It was during the day that I needed assistance from the photography students so that they could capture a photo of me playing soccer for a school commercial.❞

He looks down at Soohyeon and raises his brows.

❝Do you remember? We wasted a lot of class time because we couldn't get a good shot. You were so picky.❞ He flashes a genuine smile before looking around the park.

The moment Soohyeon finally recalled the memory he had been describing, her jaw dropped sharply.

❝I... I might still have that picture. The camera that I used and the SD cards are still with me.❞

She said and starts to look at Jake from head to toe.

❝You actually grew taller than me. We used to have the same height, I remember.❞
She gives him a glance that conveys surprise as she looks at him.

Jake, on the other hand, is relieved to see that Soohyeon has at long last started opening up and seems to be comfortable when talking.

Suddenly, something takes their attention away from the conversation.

❝We need one more player!❞
A kid from the distance yelled.

❝Please!❞

He was in a red shirt that says 'help, I'm lost' and started to make his way around the park and searched for someone to join them.

❝You see what I'm seeing,❞

❝Iβ€”βž

Jake and Soohyeon couldn't help but burst out laughing at the poor kid's shirt.

The two look at each other with teary eyes from laughing.

❝Hey, you two! I know you're laughing at me.❞
The kid runs toward the startled teenagers and halts when he reached them.

❝W-we are not,❞ Jake is startled at his abrupt presence in front of them.

❝We are talking about something else, Right Soohyeon?❞

Jake purses his lips, still trying to hold his laughter.

On the other hand, Soohyeon is able to quickly calm herself down and stare at the child.
❝Yes, he is right. I was telling him something funny.❞

❝Liars. I will tell my parents about you two.❞
He shows off his parental card, sticking his tongue out.

❝Wait! Please don't.❞
Jake gives the kid an expression that suggests he is trying to persuade him in some way.

The youngster wearing the red shirt sneers and crosses his arms to his chest.
❝Fine, on one condition.❞

❝You two should play with us.❞

Jake's excitement causes the corners of his mouth to curl upward, and he is filled with joy as a result of what the boy said.
❝Deal.❞

Soohyeon stares at the two of them with uneasiness as she has absolutely no intention of joining them.

However, she has no choice but to participate because she is terrified of actually meeting the mother of the child.

Jake casts his gaze in her direction and gives a reassuring nod.

❝Alright, we will play with you.❞
