He couldn't believe his ears. Did she really- Twitch prime...She finally agreed to that?
"W-what? Seriously?"
"Yes, it's my final decision." A wave of relief flooded him, he wrapped her in a tight hug, nuzzling his masked face on the crook of her neck as she hugged him back.
"I'm glad, I'm so, so glad..." The God mumbled, voice muffled. Y/n didn't say anything else, as she combed his silky hair with her fingers, smiling all this time. But did she make a right decision? We're about to find out.

They called Dream to help them out. Since he was more familiar with the revival book knowledge than XD, plus only he knew the language of Gods that was used in the ritual. And of course his services weren't free, XD had to give him something in exchange. But Dream didn't specify what exactly. A... favour. XD would owe him if the ritual succeeds. Yet there he stood, above his favourite human's body, that wasn't moving, blood flowing down from the 'XD' shaped wound on her chest, the blood gathered in a small pool beside the altar, painting the carvings of the language of Gods on the floor crimson red.

"Dream?.."
"I don't know. We should wait for a while." He replied, trying to recall the tips from his memory of the revival book. They waited, for minutes, for hours. Till her limp body grew colder than ice, her skin getting paler and paler. She was dead. "Well, looks like it failed." Dream shrugged, his voice had no emotion, as he wiped his hands clean on his cloak, walking out of the holy monument, leaving the frozen deity alone. XD was frozen on the spot, he couldn't bring himself to move. His chest felt incredibly heavy, his head clouded with despair. He lost her?..No it can't be. She couldn't leave him alone, not after all the things that happened. He didn't realize what he was doing. What he was thinking. He was in denial. XD cradled her cold body in his hands, rocking back and forth, tears pricking his eyes as he ripped his mask off his face, throwing it somewhere he didn't know. He tried to heal her, use a totem of undying on her, give her potions, golden apples but none worked.

"No no no no, it can't be happening. Please, Y/n, please...You can't leave me, do you hear me? You cannot, it's not canon, it's not canon, it's not canon..." He was rambling. His voice was broken, desperate. He let his face bury in her neck, seeking comfort but he was met with freezing cold instead of familiar warmth of her body. "Please, I can't lose you. I love you, Y/n, please..." The Protector pleaded. Who was he kidding? She was dead already, there's no hope. There's no use to plead. But he still couldn't help it. The God sobbed, hugging her body even tighter, letting his tears stream down his cheeks. The whole server now knew that she was dead due to the notification. XD felt weak, pathetic, useless. It was his fault. He was too greedy to get her all for himself. And this...was the price. His body wrecked with sobs, he couldn't stop it. He even tried reversing time, but didn't find her in the past. She was gone from the past as well. It was like she never existed in the first place. All the time they spent together was gone.

"𝙇𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪. 𝙄 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙩? 𝙒𝙤𝙬, 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙛𝙖𝙞𝙡 𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙯𝙚 𝙢𝙚...𝘿𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢𝙓𝘿." He heard someone's low laugh. The voice was too familiar. Sickengly familiar. Nightmare. His 'oh so favourite' brother. "𝘾𝙧𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙝𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙣, 𝙄 𝙨𝙚𝙚? 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙬𝙚𝙖𝙠. 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛 𝙖 𝙂𝙤𝙙? 𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙂𝙤𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪."

"S̵̶̮̬͖̄͑͟H̶̪͍̒ͥ͑̓U̸̫̠̰͈̕T̷̫͉̰͕̒́ U̸̫̠̰͈̕P̘͎̀͊!"

XD roared, a lighting struck somewhere far away, as he let her body rest on the altar, he looked up and wiped away his tears, but more formed in the corner of his eyes. There stood his brother. A pair of black demon horns sticking out from under his matching black hood, a black mask with orange evil looking smiley on it, dark, crow-like wings framing his tall figure. Nightmare was tall. But still not as tall as XD. "You don't talk to me like that, Nightmare." The addressed just tilted his head, a sick smile tugging his lips under the mask. XD glared.
"𝙊𝙝? 𝙒𝙝𝙮'𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩? 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙛𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙢𝙚 𝙞𝙣...𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚? 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙤𝙣, 𝙓𝘿. 𝘾𝙧𝙮 𝙖 𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙡𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙤 𝙄 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙚𝙣𝙟𝙤𝙮 𝙞𝙩. 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙞𝙩 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙖 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙡?"
"I said, shut up, didn't I? At least I experienced the emotions they feel, I'm not soulless unlike you."

"𝘿𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙝𝙪𝙢𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙢𝙚. 𝙄'𝙢 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙨𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨. 𝙄𝙛 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙨, 𝙄 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙𝙣'𝙩 𝙗𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖...𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙡." A deal? What deal? No, it never ended well, he's not falling for that.
"I'm not making any deals with you, Nightmare. It never ended well. I know you. You'll trick me-"
"𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙞𝙛 𝙞𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙜𝙞𝙧𝙡 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠?" Nightmare interrupted his brother. XD's breath hitched. Get her back?..He briefly glanced down at her body, his focus returning back at his brother that was now walking around him in circles like a predator teasing it's prey.
"𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙤 𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙚𝙩, 𝙝𝙢? 𝘿𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠? 𝘿𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙝𝙚𝙧? 𝘿𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙨𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣?" XD's gaze was focused on nowhere as he thought. He desperately wanted her back, he wanted to be with her.

"You can bring her back?"
"𝙊𝙛 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚!" Nightmare chirped.
"And what do you want in exchange?"
"𝙃𝙢𝙢, 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙢𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙚..." He stopped in his tracks, tapping his foot on the ground, thinking. Pretending to be thinking to be exact. He already knew what he wanted. He knew from the very beginning. "𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙨 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙈𝙋 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙚. 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩'𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙡." The SMP? In his hands? Knowing him, he'd cause unimaginable amount of chaos and destruction. XD cannot let this happen.
"I can't let you have the SMP. You'll bring it to downfall."

His main goal was to watch his brother suffer, to get him to agree to this. XD would still remember that he had to find someone important but he wouldn't know who exactly. This would be extremely fun.
"Is this all?"
"𝙔𝙚𝙖𝙝. 𝙎𝙤? 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙨..?" XD weighted his options for several moments. He made a decision.
"...We have a deal." Fucking finally. Nightmare would get what he wants.
"𝘽𝙧𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙩! 𝙎𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙜𝙤𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧, 𝙝𝙪𝙝? 𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙡, 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧. 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙮 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡." He instructed, placing a hand on XD's forehead as the elder closed his eyes automatically, knowing what's about to happen. Y/n's body disappeared in a golden dust.

Somewhere far away, a pure soul spawned, lost and confused. A white streak in her h/c hair was shining on the sunlight, her e/c eyes looking around, lost.

The God opened his eyes, blinking and looking around. There was no one. Why's he here? He was near the church Prime the last time he remembered. What the hell is this place? It was stained with blood. It gave uneasy feeling to him. Wait. A feeling? Nevertheless, he decided to shake it off and get out of the ancient monument. He noticed that he was in strange form. He looked more human. What the hell happened? XD shifted to his full form, flapping with his great wings, soaring into the sky and automatically observing the SMP from above. It was peaceful looking. It was under his divine protection. But he felt that something was off. Like he was missing something. Something important. Something dear to him...
