"Oh shit."

(a/n: this is an AU. Which means some parts of the fanfic may seem confusing. Perseus Parkinson is going to a different school in this AU, while in π“𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐒 he goes to Hogwarts as well. The ending of this one shot most likely isn't what happens in the real fanfic)

Leah and Remus walked with each other through Hogsmeade, joking and laughing with each other. "Want to get some chocolate?" Leah asked, a grin spread across her face. Remus replied, "Did you even have to ask?" They entered Honeydukes and waved at the owner before searching for chocolates.

"Whoever finds the most chocolates, the loser has to give five galleons to the winner." Leah challenged, and Remus scoffed, "You're challenging me-- game on!" They started searching for chocolate. Both kids had a love for the snack, even if Abraxas Malfoy despised that his daughter was eating muggle foods (such as chocolate, chips, etc.). Lucius was actually nice and brought her to Honeydukes secretly sometimes.

Once they both finished, each of them held a handful of chocolates. Leah counted how much she had, and Remus did the same. "I've got 60 bags of chocolate." Remus said, grinning proudly. Leah frowned, "I've got 59."
"Time to pay up, Miss Malfoy." Remus said, his hand out. Leah sighed as she gave him 5 galleons and she paid for her chocolates and Remus's.

"I'm so nice. I paid for you." Leah said, hoping her dad wouldn't find out how much galleons she had spent. Remus rolled his eyes, "I won the bet anyways."
"Rude," Leah muttered as they both went outside. Remus asked her, noticing Leah starting to shiver, "Want to go to The Three Broomsticks?"

Leah nodded quickly, so Remus dragged her along to The Three Broomsticks. When they made it there, Remus looked at Leah and touched her cheeks softly. "Oh Merlin, you look sick." She blushed red and removed his hands from her face, "I'm not sick-- just-- just cold." He shrugged and found a seat where they could both sit.

Remus looked about and took a deep breath. "Where are your other friends?" Leah asked, making him reply, "They're each on a date. James's with Lily, Sirius with Marlene, and Peter with some Hufflepuff girl."
"Wait-- Potter actually got a date with Evans?" Leah repeated, surprise very clear on her face. He nodded, "Yeah, even I was shocked."

"But sadly, you didn't get a date?" Leah teased. Remus gaped jokingly, "So you're not my date? I'm hurt, honestly."
"Shut up," Leah said, blushing and rolling her eyes. "You're my tutor. I can't go on a date with my tutor." Remus suggested, "Let's pretend I'm not your tutor-- and I'm some Slytherin boy who asked you out." She bit her lip from telling him 'that's stupid'.

Their butterbeers finally came, and Leah was the first to drink. "Someone's thirsty." Remus said, making Leah roll her eyes. Once she stopped drinking her butterbeer, Remus pointed at her upper lip. "There's some foam..." Leah wiped it off and asked, "Is it still there?" He shook his head no, and she smiled.

"Aren't you going to drink?" Remus nodded and started to drink. Leah looked around to see Daria with her family sitting at a table near the corner of The Three Broomsticks. Daria was shaking hands with some other people on the opposite side of her. Then they sat down and started talking.

Suddenly, a boy put a hand on Daria's, making Leah's blood boil. "What's wrong?" Remus questioned, noticing Leah's face turn red. "Some boy's touching Daria's hand. The audacity!" He tried to calm her down by putting his hands on her shoulders. "Daria's a pure-blood, right?" Leah nodded, becoming less tense than before.

"Maybe it's a arranged marriage. That's my prediction." Remus guessed, and Leah said. "She never told us that she had a arranged marriage."
"There must be a reason she never told you-- if it is in fact an arrange marriage." Leah frowned, "Should I ask?"

Remus looked at her and said, "What?" Leah shook her head at the confused boy and walked to Daria's family. "Oh shit," He muttered as he realized what she was about to do. Unfortunately for Remus, Leah already made it to their table once he knew what she was going to do. Leah put her hands on the table and scowled at the boy who held Daria's hand, "What the hell do you think you're doing?"

Aurora's mother smiled when she saw Leah, "Miss Malfoy, hello! How is your brother and father." Leah stared at her and responded, "They're okay." Then she went back to the boy and asked him sternly, "Who are you and what is your relationship with Daria?"
"I'm Perseus Parkinson.... hasn't Daria mentioned me before?" Just then, Remus approached Leah and apologized, "I'm sorry for Leah's behavior." He glared at her. "I will remind her to respect others."

Leah ignore Remus and replied to Perseus, "Yes she has. But she has never mentioned your first name before." Daria's mother stared hard at Daria, and she looked at Leah, half with anger, half with gratefulness. "How could you not introduce Mr. Parkinson to Miss Malfoy?! She's you best friend!" Daria remarked, rolling her eyes at her mother. "I technically did. Just I didn't say his first name."

Her mother gave her a icy stare, and Daria scoffed. Perseus's father gave a muffled cough and said, "Now you two kids... please leave this table. We have a very important matter to discuss." Remus nodded straight away and held Leah's hand as he dragged her back to their table. When they made it, Remus whispered, "Why did you do that?" Leah sighed, "It's something called: helping your friend. Learn that." She gave him a quick pat and continued drinking her butterbeer.

Remus groaned softly as he also drank his butterbeer. When they finished, Remus paid for the butterbeers and both Leah and him left. Snow started to fall on each other once they made it out of The Three Broomsticks. "Ah, how relaxing." Remus sighed. On the other hand, Leah was shivering cold, but decided to throw a snowball at him.

"Ow!" Remus cried as the snowball hit his face. Leah laughed and he threw a snowball back at her. "Ah! What the fuck?!" He laughed back at her and soon they were throwing snowballs at each other. Then, they plopped down on the snow and started laughing. "Hah, oh my gosh..." Leah clutched her jacket and tried to get up. Remus got up and gave her a hand.

"Thanks," She responded as she got herself up. Leah then noticed how messy Remus's hair was from the snow. "You might need this." Leah said, going on her tippy-toes. She put her bonnet on his head of brown hair and smiled, "Looks cute on you!" It was a green bonnet with a snake as a print. Lucius had given it to her when he graduated from Hogwarts. Remus touched the bonnet and asked, "This is yours, right?"

Leah nodded, "Of course it is." She added, "And I don't have lice." He raised his eyebrows uncertainly at her, but sighed. "Okay... anyways, where do you want to go next?" She shrugged, but then Remus said, "Also, where's Greengrass?" Leah responded, "She went out with some other girls from Ravenclaw house. I'm starting to think she's going to hang out more with them."

"Is that why you asked me to Hogsmeade?" He chuckled, and Leah pouted. "No-- maybe?" Remus stopped chuckling and looked at his watch, "I think we should go back." Leah nodded and they rushed over to the line of students, separating their hands from one another.

Remus had found his three other buddies and gasped, "Hey guys-- sorry I was late." Sirius replied, "It's alright, Moony."
"How were your dates?" James asked them, and Peter chimed in. "It was really nice. We got to know each other more better!" Remus questioned, looking at the love struck Peter, "What's her name?"

"Oh, her name's Agatha Diggory!" He told them. James smirked, "Wormy's in love!" Peter blushed, "I-- I'm not... but-- but she's nice."

"Anyways-- how were you, Moony? You were the only one that didn't go on a date." Sirius mentioned, making Remus chuckle nervously.

He responded quickly, "I just went to Honeydukes and bought chocolates." James scoffed and took something from Remus's head, "This bonnet makes me think differently. How come you have a Slytherin bonnet with you-- and why do I recognize it?" Remus blushed and tried to snatch it away from James. "Give it back!"

Peter suddenly said, "I recognize the bonnet as well! Wait-- isn't this Leah Malfoy's? How come you have her bonnet with you?" Sirius got wide eyed and asked, "Did you go out with Leah Malfoy?" Remus sighed heavily. He could no longer hide the secret anymore. He didn't tell his friends that he was tutoring Leah because they'd start calling her names, and honestly, it was none of their business.

Remus explained to them, and James chuckled, "Lupin and Malfoy. How exquisite." Sirius snorted, "Really Moony? Who asked out who?"
"She asked me if I wanted to go with her to Hogsmeade-- because her friends ditched her." Peter sighed, "You're still mad?"

"You also had a date as well." James stated and Remus scoffed, "But I would've said no either way. She's barely my friend..." He stopped himself. He knew that wasn't true. He actually started to really enjoy Leah's company-- and was starting to have romantic feelings with her, but he couldn't bring himself to tell his friends that. Remus knew that they'd tease him, so he never said anything... he could never be friends with Malfoy-- what more as boyfriend and girlfriend. And to top it off, he was a werewolf for goodness sake, a monster! He wanted to cry, but held it in.

After that realization, Remus canceled his tutoring lessons with Leah. She was actually getting decent grades already by then, so he didn't need to bother. Even Dumbledore told Remus that Leah barely needed tutoring anymore and he thanked him by giving him a ten bars of chocolate. But really, he was sad that he wouldn't get to tutor her anymore.

But soon... memories of each other felt like they would fade away.

James and Lily were murdered by Voldemort.

Peter Pettigrew died.

Sirius was sent to Azkaban for the murder of The Potters, Peter Pettigrew, and 13 muggles.

Marlene McKinnon was killed, including her whole family, by death eaters.

Mary Macdonald was attacked by Mulciber and Avery.

Dorcas Meadowes was killed by Voldemort himself (same as The Potters).

Remus felt weak after that. He could barely go get himself a glass of water, or even drive a car. What was worse was that he couldn't get himself a job because of his lycanthropy (which he had never told Leah about), so he just laid down on his bed and cried all the time. One day in particular, Remus saw a newspaper on the ground.

With boredom plastered on his face, he took the newspaper and checked what was written in it. 'The Daily Prophet'. Remus sighed as he looked at the front of the paper, and his eyes widened in horror. He saw Leah Malfoy on the front, a huge grin on her face, holding her sentence with a board in her hands. What was written:

'Leah Dormiens Malfoy, the death eater, is reported missing.'

He gulped. Leah had always told him that she never wanted to be a death eater, but yet she became one. Remus never looked at the newspapers often. The last time he did, he saw Sirius Black's face with the same board, but a different life sentence. Sirius had a lifetime, while Leah had 100 years. "What the hell..." Remus muttered. He read more of what happened, and he started to cry.

Leah had become a death eater right after her last year at Hogwarts, and after two years, she was tasked to kill none other than Remus John Lupin (she had also killed others before that)... it never shared her point of view, making him question how she made it to Azkaban and then escaped... but he instead crumpled up the newspaper and sobbed more and more until he could barely breathe properly, then once again, he went back to bed and laid down dreadfully.

(Leah's side of the story)

1980

Leah was tasked as a death eater for two years already. She felt confident. She had murdered multiple people already. Such as Denver Collins, an activist about muggle rights. Michal Flamel, a relative of Nicholas Flamel. And many others. Voldemort was proud of her, and called her his 'daughter'. He told her fellow death eaters many times that she was better than some of them combined, such as her husband, Bartemius Crouch Jr.

She was introduced to his dad, and he could careless. Abraxas Malfoy made her marry Bartemius Jr. because they were also wealthy pure-bloods, and that Bartemius Jr. was a follower of Voldemort (unknown to Bartemius Sr.). Voldemort and the other death eaters had a meeting, and he announced, "As you all know... The Potter family is planning on giving birth! We should kill them before the wife gives birth!"

But Leah had known James and Lily, and didn't want them to die early. They had cared a lot about her and they got along, so she suggested, "I think that we should kill them once they give birth. Let me explain: If they give birth, it gives you a chance to kill them easily because they are more focused on the baby's needs and wants-- and you can kill the baby!"
"True... I really only need the baby and James Potter." Voldemort cringed while saying the name.

"Okay, it's settled. We'll kill Mr. Potter and the baby after the birth." The other death eaters nodded. Leah sighed with relief, until Voldemort continued. "Since we will kill them later, Leah, I have an assignment for you. An important one." He added. Leah grinned maliciously. "Yes, my lord."
"I need you to kill-- that half-blood. What's his name again?" Voldemort told her, tapping his head so he could try to remember.

Bellatrix exclaimed, "Remus John Lupin!" Leah gasped. She hadn't heard that name in the last two years. "My lord, why him?" She asked, trying to make an excuse not to kill him. He explained, "Because he is part of 'The Order' or something. He'll try to get rid of us as well. You can go kill him while the others, including me, prepare for the murder of Mr. Potter and their baby."

Peter Pettigrew looked pale. He didn't seem to worried about James, but when Remus was called, he froze. "But my lord, must we kill Lupin? He hasn't done anything--"
"SILENCE!" Voldemort shouted madly. "I know he's your friend, but he has left you either way. Haven't they thought low of you for years?! This is your revenge!" Peter gulped, but nodded frantically. "Good,"

Time had passed, and Voldemort said, "It's time for you to kill that half-blood." Leah nodded. Peter had told her where he lived, so she had a clear vision on where to go. She got ready and left The Riddle House. Voldemort had reluctantly decided to meet at this old home, making him cringe all the time.

Leah shivered with fear. She had loved Remus for a long time, but when he started to avoid her, she couldn't handle the pain and became the thing she feared most: a death eater. She thought it'd be a good way to get revenge on him, but she just couldn't bring herself to think that truthfully. Leah made it to his place. It seemed like he was cooking.

'I didn't know he could cook.' Leah exclaimed in thought. She went closer, and closer to his front door. She bit her lip, ashamed of herself. 'What am I doing?' Leah thought. Tears felt like they were about to pour down her face, until someone said, "Who are you?" She froze. She knew right away that it was Lily Evans, well now it was Lily Potter. "Show your face. Now." Leah turned around, and Lily stared at her aggressively.

"What are you doing here?" She scowled. "Don't tell me you're going to kill Remus." Leah stayed silent, but finally spoke. "I was," she continued, "Until you arrived."
"You will never kill Remus on my watch! You've changed so much, Leah... you never wanted to be-- this. A murderer. A death eater! You told us that all the time-- to sway us. We believed you... and yet you betrayed us!"

Leah muttered, "You'd be surprised if another person did the same."
"What did you say?" Lily said, and she shook her head. "Nothing," she said coldly. Lily chuckled, "You're going to Azkaban. Well-- I hope you do." Leah rolled her eyes, but nodded. She'd rather be in Azkaban than kill Remus.

Then there was the Disciplinary Hearing. Leah told them not to mention anything in the newspaper, and they gradually agreed. The Hearing happened, and she was sentenced to 100 years in Azkaban. Leah didn't care and went to Azkaban, as long as Remus didn't get hurt.

A year had passed, and Leah had gotten bored of all the people talking over each other, acting crazy, and just being plain annoying. She wished to leave. She'd start a new life and got to the muggle world, where nobody knew about her horrible life. "Hello, Lia..." An old lady whispered dryly. Leah looked at her and cringed. "My name's Leah. But you call me Malfoy." The lady scowled and started to pick her nose.

"Gross," Leah mumbled. In a sudden flash, a mysterious person appeared at the door that separates the prisoner and the visitor. "Who are you?" She asked, touching the bar. The voice whispered, "I am your savior."
"What? What do you mean?" Leah scoffed, rolling her eyes. "If this is some joke, I don't have time for it."

"You sure?" The voice said. Suddenly, Leah teleported to a random place. "Where the hell am I?" She exclaimed. The voice explained, "Remus Lupin's place." She went wide-eyed in panic, "How do you know who he is?"
"I don't know. Anyways, you have this newfound freedom. Use it for good." Leah questioned, confused, "But why am I at Remus's place?"
"You'll find out." She swore that she noticed the voice smirk, but the voice disappeared.

Leah cursed, "Shit. I can't be here right now." And she found a donation box (The Wizarding World decided to make one) and found some clothes left there. She found the clothes and walked to the wall, where she made it through, and she realized that the wall people talked about, was actually real.

She smiled and went off. And she spent most of her life in the muggle world... until one day, twelve years later, she was called for one last mission.

'Become the Professor for Muggle Studies at Hogwarts.'

Oh how fun this will be.
