The quiet was sickeningly peaceful, dust that fell from ancient shelves could occasionally be noticed from flickering, broken lights from above.
Below its splintered electricity lay what appeared to be goob. Fluff stained black with ichor that spilled from his head unwillingly, claws that used to be hands covered in the substance as well.
And then it would sound β
Muffled thumps of footsteps followed by a curious grumble that could only be traced to pebbles doing.
Almost with a confirming instant,
The gigantic dog nudged Goob playfully, staring at him as he stirred in his unconscious.
Momentarily, Goob opened his eyes, blinking slowly and adjusting to the new found deformed vision he adorned.
Red. A tinted view on the cold world.
Everything was red.
And anything in the right eye was almost impossible to see correctly.
Twisted pebbles' head tilted, letting out a small bark and slobberful lick to his face.
Goob weaklingly shoved a hand in his face, sitting up with a disgusting amount of pain running to his head.
It was all sickening.
The ichor that was half-dry on the cold warehouse floor,
The lack of sight in one eye,
A excruciatingly painful feeling in his head that only went more muffled and numbed by the second.
Goob blinked one last time before finally processing what, or rather who was infront of him properly.
Panic set in.
He scrambled, backing up desperately in a pure fear and worry, struggling and pausing with a deep confusion when pebbles .. just.. didn't do anything.
Not a thing.
In fact he seemed..
playful?
Happy..?
Worried....?
Whaaat was going on.
A state of confused shock was now apparent in goobs system, a dazed feeling of a horror-full helplessness washing over him.
Pebbles noticed this, slowly sticking his nose in his face and sniffing him, nudging his forehead and backing up again.
The two stared at each other.
Goob - utterly terrified and disoriented.
Pebbles - silly and playful.
....
Slowly, goob stood up, wobbly.
Infact he almost fell face first again if it wasn't for pebbles bowing his head and letting goob use it to stand up right.
'Whereβ'
He thought.
Or at least to the best he could.
Everything felt so abnormal.
Goob kept looking around, taking a few steps forward, a crushing fist of reality shattering any hope he had of someone else being there.
Anyone.
He didn't even care who.
And no.. the twisted counterparts didn't count.
He wanted - no, needed somebody who was actually aware right now.
Someone to hug him and tell him it'll be okay, even though he knew and knows it won't ever be okay.
Not now.
Not ever.
He was lost,
Just completely-
Utterly -
Lost.
