»»----> "I don't know, Y/N." Inhyuk sighed. "Maybe I should call her back and reschedule. I'm sure she'll understand."
"Nonsense." You scoffed. "You are going on this date. It's pretty late to cancel, anyway."
Jiyoung nodded. "We're here to help you out! Bring out any outfits you planned, and we'll tell you which one to wear."
"I uh... Don't have anything planned out yet." He confessed.
You and Jiyoung groaned in unison. "Really? I guess Jiyoung and I will choose for you."
"You guys have good taste, I think I'll like anything that you choose." Inhyuk smiled. "Just nothing too bold, please. Don't want to scare her off on the first date."
"What's she like?" You asked, looking through his closet with Jiyoung.
"Well, she's pretty tall, but that's not a problem for me. She has light brown hair, and her dad is from Japan." He explained. "She's also an awakened, and she's really sweet."
"She sounds fantastic!"
Inhyuk nodded. "Find anything worthy of wearing yet?"
"How do you feel about a maroon suit?" Jiyoung pulled out a dark red suit, along with a slightly lighter dress shirt.
"Hm, I'll try it out." He grabbed the clothing. "Now, shoes and a tie. Then, we can do my hair."
"Making us do all the work?" You shook your head. "Can't believe you, and the way you treat us."
"Sorry, I'm bad at outfits." Inhyuk smiled. "I appreciate your help."
"Glad to help." Jiyoung handed him a tie. "This one."
"Alright, and Y/N found some shoes, so I'll change real quick." Inhyuk spoke, and you and Jiyoung made your way out of his room.
"Jiyoung." You caught her attention.
"I have a plan." You whispered. "We should follow him to make sure his date goes well. I'm worried for him."
"Okay." She whispered back. "If it doesn't, we can message him what to say next, I suppose."
"Let's do that." You nodded.
Inhyuk came out wearing the clothing Jiyoung and you chose for him. "I hope it looks nice enough."
"You look great!" You affirmed. "And you did your hair! Good job!"
"Thanks, I guess I'm going to go now. Don't want to be late." Inhyuk said. "Thank you for all the help."
"You're welcome." Jiyoung smiled. "I'll head back to the association with Y/N. Call me if you need anything."
"Sounds good. See you guys later! I'll be sure to let you know how it goes." Inhyuk smiled before leaving his home.
"Alright, let's wait a few minutes, then follow him. We already know where he's going, luckily." Jiyoung and you stood near the window, peaking through to see when he leaves.
As you were about to leave, your phone rang. "Hello?"
"Hey, Y/N." It was your boyfriend.
"What did you need, Kayden?" You and Jiyoung walked out of the house.
"About the party, on our way back." He began. "I don't remember what I said, but I was drunk. Sorry if I said something rude or made you uncomfortable. I can say a lot of things I don't mean when I'm drunk. Or I'm brutally honest."
"You told me to marry you." You started the car. "I have to make sure Inhyuk's date goes well. I'll talk to you another time."
"Okay, bye. Love you." Kayden replied, hanging up the phone.
"Kayden proposed?" Jiyoung smirked. "You two are moving fast."
"No, he was really drunk. He said he wanted to marry me someday." You began driving to the restaurant Inhyuk was at with his date.
"Still, he confessed he wanted to marry you. Usually when people are under the influence of alcohol, a lot of stuff they confess is true, but they didn't mean to say it."
"That's true. It wasn't an actual proposal so let's not make a big deal over it. Just a drunken mistake, maybe." You continued driving.
It was silent the rest of the car ride. Jiyoung thought about Inhyuk's date, while you were thinking about you and Kayden.
"Looks like we're here." You pulled into the parking lot, making sure you were far away from Inhyuk's car.
"He must be inside already." You and Jiyoung passed by his empty car on your way to the restaurant entrance.
"Good evening, and welcome! " A waitress greeted you. "Thank you for dining with us. A table for two?"
You nodded. "May we choose where we sit, please? I fully understand if not."
"Of course! Please just show me where you'll be seated."
The waitress followed you and Jiyoung to your table. Far enough for Inhyuk to not notice you, but close enough to hear their conversation. You also made sure to sit at a table behind him.
"I will get the both of you some wine and breadsticks while you look through our menu." The waitress smiled before leaving.
"You're so funny, Inhyuk!" His date laughed. "Thank you so much for inviting me."
"I'm really glad you came." Inhyuk said. "Hopefully we can do this again."
His date nodded. "By the way, are you new to dating? I don't mean to offend, but you seem like you are."
"I haven't dated for a while." He revealed. "I'm not offended, don't worry."
They sat in awkward silence for a while. "You're really tall." He laughed.
"Excuse me? Why do you suddenly need to mention my height, and laugh about it?"
"No, no, that's not what I meant." He frowned. "I was just saying something random, I'm sorry."
"Random or not, it doesn't matter." She huffed. "I like being tall, if you don't like it, that's not my problem."
"It's not a problem! I love big women! I m-mean tall! You aren't big! You're skinny, actually."
She rolled her eyes in response, and Inhyuk sighed in defeat.
You and Jiyoung looked at each other. "Should we intervene?" You whispered, and Jiyoung nodded.
You sent Inhyuk a message, telling him to tell his date that he thinks she's really pretty, and to change the topic to something like their profession or their awakened abilities.
Inhyuk had his phone on silent, and so he never read the message. "Look, I'm sorry. You're great, tall or not. Skinny or not." He told her.
She gave him a half-hearted smile, and a waiter came over towards them with their food.
You and Jiyoung waited for the waitress to come over to your table.
The waitress came, and poured the both of you a glass of wine each. She set down a basket of breadsticks as well.
"Are you ready to order?" She got out a small notebook.
"Hm, I'll take an appetizer for now." You looked at the menu. "This." You pointed to the food, unsure on how to pronounce it.
"M'kay. And your date?"
"Oh, she isn't my date. We're just friends." You replied, and the waitress nodded.
"I apologize. For your friend?"
"I'm good for now, but thank you anyway." Jiyoung smiled.
The waitress walked off, and the two of you listened in on Inhyuk's conversation again.
"I'm sorry, Junko." He apologized. "If you want to leave, I understand."
Junko, his date, stormed off. The other customers looked over at Inhyuk sitting alone with his face in his hands.
You rushed over to him. "You deserve better. And it's okay, I understand you were too nervous. We all say things we don't mean to."
"Wait, Y/N?" He looked up at you. "Why are you here?"
You looked over at Jiyoung. "Well, Jiyoung and I thought it would be best to follow you and help you out, but I texted you, and your phone was on silent so our plan failed."
"That's kind of weird, but thank you." He smiled. "Let's leave."
You left a note to the waitress and some money, and made your way out of the restaurant with Jiyoung and Inhyuk.
"We should go back to Inhyuk's." Jiyoung suggested.
"Okay, let's do that." You entered your car, turning on music this time.
You listened to the music for a while before eventually arriving at Inhyuk's place. "We're here."
You had arrived at the same time as Inhyuk. He waved at you and Jiyoung as he exited his vehicle.
"Let's watch a movie, and eat junk food." Inhyuk sighed. "The only thing I'm in the mood for, at the moment."
"I'm down." You plopped onto his couch, next to Jiyoung.
"Don't worry about your date going poorly." Jiyoung spoke up. "You're still new to this. Just find someone new, and learn from your mistakes."
"You guys are the best." He grinned. "I really do appreciate your support."
"I wouldn't just not help you." You laughed. "What are we watching?"
You turned on his television, flipping through different channels in search or something interesting.
"The history channel always has weird stuff on at night." Inhyuk replied, carrying over a bowl of trail mix, popcorn, and caramel sauce. Among the mess was gummy bears sprinkled on top.
"Wow, it looks like junk." You looked at his creation. "Delicious."
"Junk food for a reason." He grabbed a handful.
You turned on the history channel, which was playing something about Greek mythology, and possible evidence of real Greek gods.
You all became bored, with yawning becoming more frequent. You began taking longer and longer blinks, until you fell asleep.
