Y/n pov

"Remind me again why I'm coming to this thing again?" I whine.
"Cause why not? Not like you got anything better to do since you got fired and your relationship status is DOA-" My mom says in this rude tone.
"You didn't have to make it so personal-" I sigh,
"Oh come on you've been single for as long as I can remember, I think you need to get yourself out there." She says.
"And going to your bosses house for your little meeting is getting me out there?" I ask.
"He's just going to show us his house and tell me how to take care of it while he's away on his fancy business trip." My mom sighs.
I sighed and rested my head on the car door,
She continued to drive through these hills of the wealthy families, my mom is going to be house sitting for her boss. So we're on the way to the mansion so he can go on his trip. I don't know why I'm being forced to come, I'm seventeen not a child. Up to the very moment we pull into the gate of the house I'm confused on why I'm here. I gasped at how huge the house is, then the gate opened when my mom entered the code.
"This is his house?" I ask shocked.
"Yup, I told you it was ginormous." She chuckles.
"Wait how long are we staying?" I ask.
"A month, he's going away on a business trip." She answers parking.
"Why can't I just stay at home?" I ask.
"Well- because I want you here with me." She hesitated to answer but before I could ask her more questions she got out the car and her boss came up to her.

"Hello sir." I hear her say through the car.
"Hello Jade, is this your daughter?" He asks.
"Yes this is Y/n." She says as I get out the car.
"Hi." I say.
"Hi I'm Liam Wolfhard." He says shaking my hand.
So this is the insanely rich fucker.
"Nice to meet you." I smile.
"You too, well this way I'll show you around the house and tell you what I'm going to need you to do Jade." He says.
"Of course." My mom says.
"Let's make this quick my flight is in three hours-" Liam says.
He guided us inside and gave us a tour also telling my mom about the things she has to do while house sitting. For some reason my mom made me be with her while he talked about the things so I caught on to a lot of the tasks my mom will be doing. After a while he showed me to my room, which was one of the guests rooms upstairs.

"-and finally, my most priced possession. This sculpture." Liam says as we walk into this huge natural lighted room with a tall glass ceiling in a gazebo shape. Very expensive looking if you ask me.
"How beautiful-" My mom says.
"Thank you, I love this sculpture with all my soul- you must dust it every day. The material it's made with is very rare and it's worth thirty thousand dollars." He explains.
"Wow-" I mumbled.
It's a male figure with many perfect hand made curves, I see why Liam is obsessed.

When we were done with the tour the sun was setting and Liam was about to leave,
"Well my flight is in an hour, I'm going to head out-" He says grabbing his suit case.
"Goodbye sir I'll keep your house ship shape while your away." My mom smiles.
"I know you will Jade, I'm trusting you. But if anything is wrong when I come back there will be consequences." He says kinda seriously.
"I understand." She says.
"Well then, goodbye Y/n and Jade." He says walking out.
My mom locked the door,
"Hm well your going to be busy." I scoff.
"No actually you are- I'm leaving with Frank for a romantic getaway tonight." She shrugs.
"Wait what!?" I ask confused.
"I only brought you because I wanted you to hear what your going to have to be doing." My mom shrugs walking upstairs, I followed her instantly-

"What the hell are you talking about?!" I ask madly.
"I think you heard me." She rolls her eyes.
"Your ditching me here all alone so you can go on a trip with your fucken childish boyfriend!" I yell going up to stairs with her back facing me,
"Oh your almost an adult you can do the job for me." She sighs.
"You can't just throw this job at me I have a life!" I argue pulling her arm so she could face me when we reach the top of the stairs.
"Your unemployed single life can wait a month-" She says pulling her arm back and going into the room that was supposed to be hers for the month.
"How do you expect me to do this for you when my whole life you've done this shit to me!?" I continue yelling going into the room.

She ignored me and got her suit case out the closet that she packed before coming here,
"I'm trying to make a life for myself and your completely making me stop that so I can do your job!" I vent.
"I'll pay you the money for the job-" She sighs.
"How much?" I ask.
"Ten thousand dollars." My mom says.
"You promise you'll pay me?" I ask.
"Sure whatever, I'm leaving now. I made the list of things to do downstairs on the kitchen counter-" She says passing by me and going downstairs.
I followed and sighed,
"You always leave me mom, and with your shit to deal with." I say.
"This is the last time I promise." She sighs reaching the end of the stairs.
"You said that last time!" I yell.
"God I'm going to give you the money isn't that enough for you!" She yells.
"I just want a supportive, mature, responsible, and always there for me mom. Why can't you be that for me?" I sigh.
My mom made it to the front door,
"Your over reacting- Goodbye Y/n I'll see you in a month, do me a favor and don't call me, oh and if I find out that something went wrong it's on you." She says.
I didn't say anything, but I watched her say her final words to me then walk out the house with a happy attitude.

This isn't the first time my mom has ditched me to go out with one of her boyfriends. First it was Owen, then Max, and now Frank. Behind my moms back Frank has told me that I distract my mom from him, that he's more important to her than I am. Which I sometimes believe when she puts me in these situations. But I do what I always do, deal with it. So I sighed and walked back to the kitchen then looked at the list of things I have to do. Gosh this is a lot of things, no wonder the pay is ten thousand- plus it's a 24/7 job for a month. But I looked around, what's the good positive side of all this? I get to live in a fucken mansion! It has a huge pool and jacuzzi, movie theater, gym, luxury bathrooms, and a whole collection of race cars. Not like I'll touch the race cars or this millionaire's 30,000 worth sculpture in the middle of his house. Fuck this though I had plans to get a job for money and go to school. But it is just a month, a long lonely miserable month. Then I went back upstairs to the guest room I am staying in, showered and layed down in bed. Usually I can't sleep in other beds besides my own, today for some reason I just felt very comfortable. Maybe it's the thousand dollar worth bed, I don't know but I'm exhausted.

Later that night..

I wake up to the sound of talking coming from outside my window, so immediately I get up and look. That's when I see a man and a woman jumping the fence. Holy shit! They're trying to brake in right now! But why didn't the security alarm go off as soon as he was spotted by the cameras!? Technology fails when you need it most I swear! So I ran downstairs and grabbed a baseball bat from the closet, then went to the glass sliding door to wait for the fucker to walk in. Also it is very dark so I can't see anything, nobody was coming in so I unlocked the door and went outside pointing the bat ahead. I took two steps outside and bumped into someone,
"Ahhhh!!" I yell along with the man and woman who were screaming as well.
I stopped screaming then I got a good look at the mans face.
He's literally fucken Mc Dreamy.

"Ugh you live here with her?" The girl scoffs.
"What!? No I don't even know this girl." He defends himself.
"Your such a jerk Finn Wolfhard- I'm leaving, I hope you know he's cheating on you girl." She says to me then storming off the way she came,
I put the bat to my side and sighed,
"Way to be a cock blocker-" He scoffs.
I rolled my eyes,
"Who the fuck are you anyway?" We both ask in sync with one another.
"I'm Finn Wolfhard, this is my uncles house who the fuck are you?" Finn asks rudely.
Shit the nephew!
"I'm Y/n, I'm house sitting while Liam is gone for a trip." I sigh.
"Is this some kind of joke?" He asks.
"Why would this be a joke?" I roll my eyes.
"A woman by the name of Jade is supposed to be house sitting, where is she?" Finn asks.
"S-She's my mother- she'll be back some time tomorrow." I lie.

He looked me up and down,
"Well I'll have to have a word with her tomorrow then-" Finn says trying to walk inside but I stood in front of him,
"Where do you think your going?" I ask still gripping the bat.
"Oh please your little bat doesn't scare me and neither do you, I'm going inside my uncles house." He rolls his eyes.
"Do you have permission?" I ask.
"Of course I do, now get out my way doll." He smirks then pushes past me.
Wow- what a fucken dick. Of course the hot ones always have the worst personalities.
