( 016. 'LA' )

the day was finally here. ariella and her friends had been planning their universal studios trip for weeks, and after months of non-stop planning, everything was set. the group had arrived at the airport, but the early morning flight and the weight of travel fatigue kept everyone subdued. the energy was a bit low, but it was more of that pre-excitement buzz than actual chaos. the promise of a week of fun in LA was enough to get them all through the morning.

ariella, her duffel bag slung over her shoulder, walked through the terminal with blake, leah, dior, scarlett, and kristen trailing behind. walker, aryan, charlie, and mason were with them too, all of them tired.

ariella pulled out her phone, getting ready to vlog for her youtube channel. "hey, guys! so, we're officially at the airport for our universal studios trip! we're all a little tired, but we're getting there," she said, speaking directly to the camera. her voice was a bit softer than usual, the exhaustion of waking up early kicking in.

blake yawned behind her. "speak for yourself, ari. i'm barely up right now."

leah chuckled, clearly agreeing. "same. i don't even know how i'm standing right now."

"it's the excitement," ariella replied, giving the camera a wink. "it's gotta be the excitement."

as they passed through security, dior wandered off toward the snack area, her eyes scanning the shelves. "i need something," she declared. "i'm falling asleep on my feet without food."

blake, always the self-appointed photographer, was taking pictures of ariella and kristen while they stood in line for coffee. "airport selfies are an absolute must," she grinned, raising her phone for a quick pic.

"definitely " kristen said, giving the camera a thumbs-up.

the flight was uneventful, the group too tired to really do anything but sleep. dior did manage to raid the snack cart, of course, but other than that, they spent most of the flight trying to catch up on sleep, playing games on their phones, or scrolling through social media. charlie even tried, and failed, to nap in the most obnoxious way possible, his loud snoring making it impossible for anyone nearby to sleep peacefully.

when they finally landed in LA, the group shuffled off the plane, a little disoriented from the long flight. they grabbed their luggage and made their way through the airport, much quieter than usual as they were all still adjusting to the new time zone and the lack of sleep.

once they reached the baggage claim, things stayed calm, but it wasn't long before their collective tiredness wore off and their true energy began to rise. mason was the first to crack a joke, which got everyone laughing.

"anyone else feel like we're in an episode of the bachelor?" mason said, eyes wide and dramatic. "except with more luggage and less romantic tension."

"oh my god, please stop," ariella replied, rolling her eyes but laughing along with the group.

"seriously, who packed all this?" leah said, struggling with her oversized suitcase.

"um, me?" ariella said innocently, eyeing her duffel bag. "i had to be prepared for everything."

they loaded into the shuttle to the hotel, and once they arrived, it was like a switch flipped. suddenly, the exhaustion was gone, and everyone's excitement and energy shot back up. the lobby was filled with laughter as they checked in.

they were all joking around, cracking each other up as they made their way to the check-in counter. the receptionist handed them a set of room keys, one by one, and then she gave a knowing smile.

"okay, so... we have some unique room assignments for you guys," the receptionist said, tapping her pen against the desk.

blake shot a glance at ariella and whispered, "this is gonna be good."

"we have rooms for the group," the receptionist continued, looking down at the list. "one room is for leah, blake, and dior.  the boys have requested to all stay in the master suite, and the queens suite is for... well, it's for walker and ariella."

there was a beat of silence.

"wait, what?" walker said, his eyebrows shooting up. "that can't be right. we'reโ€”"

"yup," the receptionist interrupted, handing over the room key with a smile. "it's all set. enjoy your stay!"

ariella's face immediately flushed. she turned to look at walker, her eyes wide.

"we're rooming together?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. she couldn't believe it. not that she had a problem with itโ€”she just hadn't expected it.

walker shrugged, looking like he had no clue how this happened either. "well, this is gonna be... interesting," he said, trying to sound casual but failing miserably.

"ohh, this is gonna be so fun," leah teased, wiggling her eyebrows at the two of them. "you guys better not be too loud, okay?"

"relax, it's just for one week," ariella said, her voice a little shaky, trying to play it cool.

blake raised an eyebrow, smirking. "sure. for the week."

as they made their way to the rooms, the group's chatter became louder, teasing walker and ariella the whole way.

once they got to the door of their room, walker pushed it open and tossed his bag onto the bed. "looks like i get the bed," he joked, pointing to the empty spot.

"uhm no, you're sleeping on the couch," ariella shot back, though she had a playful grin on her face.

"yeah, no kidding. im such a gentleman" walker replied, stretching out. he plopped down on the bed and looked up at the ceiling. "this is gonna be interesting."

ariella rolled her eyes but smiled, sitting down on the other side of the bed. she tossed her duffel bag onto a chair and took a deep breath, looking out the window at the LA skyline. "this feels so surreal," she murmured.

"i know, right?" walker agreed, turning to face her. "i didn't think this trip would actually happen."

there was a brief, quiet moment as they both stared out at the city. it was almost golden hour, and the warm glow from the setting sun made everything feel like something out of a movie.

"you good?" walker asked, turning back to her.

ariella smiled softly, nodding. "yeah. just... everything feels different. in a good way."

"well its like your birthday but , different how?" walker asked, raising an eyebrow.

"i guess... i didn't expect to be here, with you, i mean," she said, her voice softening. "but it feels... nice. really nice."

walker's gaze softened as he sat up. "yeah. i feel the same way."

later that night, the group gathered in the lobby for a bit of fun before heading to bed. the lobby area was a chill spot, with a few couches scattered around. everyone was still cracking jokes, laughing as loud as possible.

"okay, hear me out," dior said, smirking. "ding dong ditch. we find a room, ring the bell, and run. it'll be hilarious."

"genius," blake said with an exaggerated nod.

the group picked a random room on the second floor, and they went for it. they knocked and ran like maniacs down the hall, laughing hysterically as they hid behind the nearest wall.

"this is so dumb," ariella gasped between laughs, trying to catch her breath.

"yeah, but it's hilarious," walker agreed, clutching his stomach.

they took turns, running from one end of the hall to the other, each time laughing louder and louder until they were almost in tears.

after several rounds, they all regrouped in the lobby, finally calming down enough to sit together on the couches.

walker and ariella ended up sitting next to each other, their legs brushing. ariella leaned into him slightly, exhausted from laughing but still grinning. walker pulled out his phone and took a picture of the two of them.

"this is gonna be a great trip," walker said, smiling as he showed her the photo.

"you're keeping that, right?" ariella asked, a playful glint in her eye.

"of course." he replied, a grin spreading across his face.

as the night wound down, they all said their goodnights and made their way to their respective rooms. ariella, still smiling, lay back on her bed, while walker was asleep on the couch. everything felt so right. it was like this trip was exactly what they all needed. and with walker by her side, it was only going to get better.
