When he made it to your home the sky was pitch black, not a single star in the sky and the dark clouds looked over ominously with the threat of rain - possibly even more snow, if possible. The amount that Hurricane had received so far was almost baffling, which is why Dave longed for nothing more than to enter your home and be in your arms.

However, he wouldn't allow himself to do so until he learned which version of himself you loved more. If you loved William then he could easily be William, he only withheld the truth of who he was to protect himself. It was you feelings about his dishonesty that he would be worried about, you could betrayed and even feel like he was toying around with your emotions. But, surely, you wanted to have William Afton love you back, right? And he did, so what would be the huge issue?

If you had come to love Dave Miller more then so be it, he could easily continue to live in the fake identity of a blonde texan that shared so many qualities with the British man mentioned before. Even more doubt filled the man, you probably only liked Dave because of the similarities between him and William and that filled him with dread. He was so conflicted, unsure if anything was a good or bad outcome and he would only find out once he actually knocked on your door and asked the question that had been rattling through his brain for the past hour.

The door in front of him seemed so close and so far, everything making sense and not all at the same time as he tried to compose himself. He made his three crisp knocks, it was his favourite number for no particular reason other than he liked the number three. He wished he could say the same about you, he liked you for no particular reason other than he just liked you. That wasn't the case.

You were like coming home after playing in the snow all day, you were the fireplace that would be lit already by a caring parent to make sure the blood returned to your hands and ears and everywhere the blood stopped circulating to. Your warmth was comforting and needed for survival, like a fire you would build out in the wilderness to keep you alive in the freezing temperatures. In more personal terms, you felt like a blade he often kept in his pocket for protection whenever he felt threatened. To him it was an essential tool and provided him with comfort.

But a blade in his pocket could never compare to you and the comfort the knife gave him was nothing to the feelings he felt when wrapped in your embrace. When the door opened and he saw your face, he felt everything pause for a moment and he questioned whether what he was going to do was worth it or not. It could potentially ruin it all and it would be like the fire he desperately built to keep warm during a blizzard being snuffed out by the wind. Unable to be lit again and leaving him left in the cold to freeze, slowly and painfully.

"Davey!" You smiled and lunged yourself at him, arms around his waist and head in his chest as you took in the smell of the cologne he used. He was dressed in his work clothes unlike the other night where he came over in a hoodie, which surprisingly suited him more than his work clothes but he still looked incredibly good. "Where were you today?"

"Me and Philip got stuck in his car." He said, hesitant about how he should bring his question up in conversation with you. "Miss me?"

"Of course I did." You squeezed your grip around his waist before letting go. "I missed you more than I think I miss William." You chuckled and invited him inside.

The warmth of your home immediately had an effect on him, blood beginning to pump around his entire body again whilst his heart still kept a fast pace because of the brief hug you had given him. I missed you more than I think I miss William, the words you had said a moment before had answered most of the question he wanted to ask.

"Are you staying the night or-"

"I love you."

He had turned to face you when he said the three words, his cheeks burned up as those silver eyes looked at you with that glowing that moved you to stand closer to him. You moved your hands up to be against his chest, heart pounding and you felt his race at an impressive speed that made you understand how genuine his words were.

"I love you, too."

You were able to get the words out after a few moments of just admiring the man. He no longer needed to ask the question he wanted to say, instead leaning closer to you and pressing his lips against yours for a brief kiss that only lasted a few seconds. For each other, your minds have the illusion that the kiss had lasted for hundreds of seconds as fireworks went off around you and everything felt... complete.

The incomplete puzzle that was William Afton and Dave Miller suddenly felt completed after years of being left unfinished. All that was needed was the large puzzle piece that was you and you were finally there to finish the masterpiece that he was. When the short kiss ended he brought a hand to your cheek, brushing it with his thumb and moving his hand to trace the shape of your jaw gently.

You moved your own hands up to brush through his hair, another finding a place on the back of his neck and rubbing between the soft patches of skin and then the rough parts where his symmetrical scars were.

"You're perfect." He repeated the phrase he had said the other night and leaned in for another kiss, this time more sloppy against your lips as he trembled when he continued to brush your fingers against the sensitive scarring of his neck. "So perfect..."

"Stay the night."

You felt him nod and the pair of you made it to the bedroom, everything seemed to be going so quickly for this short relationship but you felt for some reason you had known Dave longer than you actually had. So everything about this was so pleasantly right, everything about pushing him down onto your bed and beginning to take his shirt off was so right.

Once the purple shirt was off you were able to see the scars across the top half of his body, you had become familiar with the scars on his forearms and neck but seeing it all on his chest and back seemed to capture a type of beauty about it all. The scars seemed familiar, like you had seen them before or that you knew exactly how he had received them. Dave suddenly felt anxious as he felt your eyes looking at the scars on his body. Did you think they were ugly? Was it off putting for you?

"Davey, you're so beautiful." You moved to straddle his lap and bringing your hands to trace against the lines that were most likely a painful memory to how he received them. They were so beautiful to you, the strange symmetrical pattern it had against his skin was entrancing and your fingers couldn't help but gently ghost over them which hade the man shuddering against your touch.

"You really like them that much?" He asked, breath hitching when your fingers moved to one of the more sensitive scars that was located on his abdomen. In truth, he found the scars an ugly reminder about the stupid kids that he had to kill but they allowed him for his discovery remnant. All of this was something he wanted to think on in such an intimate moment with you, however.

You nodded as you learned forward and placed a kiss on one of the scars on his neck, it was a gentle kiss and you moved onto his shoulder to place even more kisses on his scarred body. He shuddered at each and every kiss, never having been praised so much in his life and he realised in it so much - he always loved it when attention was on him and you were always so willing to provide that attention to him.

"Everything about you is so perfect." You paused your kissing, leaning away and moving both of your hands so they held both sides of his jaw and forcing him to keep eye contact with you. "Your eyes are such a beautiful colour and they fucking glow and you have no idea what that does to me. Your body is so perfect, scars and all it doesn't matter. I love you so much I can't form it in words or actions."

"Darling..." He started only for you to move a finger over his thin lips, silencing him from whatever he was going to say.

"Dave or William or whatever... I love you, no matter what." You moved your finger away and pressed a kiss onto your lips, surprising him from both the suddenness of the kiss and the fact you knew.

How long have you known? His mind lingered on the questions for a moment before he let himself only think about the moment he was living in at the moment, moving his hands to hold onto your waist before helping you remove your own shirt. He wanted to do what you had done to him, praise your body with kisses and tell you why he loved you so goddamn much but you seemed very content on pushing him down onto the mattress and continuing your loving assault onto his body.

"Wait." He said eventually, looking up at your angelic figure on top of him as the light from above obscured his view and made you look like a holy figure helping him repent for the countless sins he had committed.

"What is it?" You asked, your voice quiet compared to his.

"Aren't our upset?"

"Of course I am." You sighed, moving off from on top of him and instead lying beside him on your bed and moving a hand to trail against the scars on his chest. "But in some twisted way, it shows how we're meant to be together. Don't you think, William?"

"I always loved you. I never realised until recently but before Dave existed I loved you." He moved his own arm so his hand could play with your hair, smiling at how it felt in his fingers as his other hand moved to gently caress your skin.

"I think you know how long I've loved you." You chuckled and he couldn't help but laugh too and soon after a comfortable silence fell between the two of you.

"You deserve better than me." He sat up and got off the bed, grabbing his shirt and quickly dressing himself whilst you watched him with a confused expression and disappointment.

"What? William, no... please, hold on!" You stood up, quickly dressing yourself as well so you could stop him from leaving more easily.

"I don't deserve you, Y/N." He hissed at you, a sudden bitterness and anger being lashed out at you which sent a disgusting feeling throughout your entire body. "I killed kids for fucks sake!"

"I KNOW!" You shouted at him, feelings your eyes begin to water and sting because of the wave of emotions rushing through you. "Everyone fucking knows because why else would you go missing? God, you're such a bastard and I love you!"

"I love you too!" He shouted back at you and moved towards your door. "Which is why I have to go."

"No, you don't have to go. William, please..." you were about ready to fall to your knees and sob, his hand moved to the door handle and everything seemed to slow down as he considered turning around and apologising. He considered not leaving but he knew he had to, that was the right thing to do after all.

"Please," you sobbed. "Please don't go, not again! Please, don't William. Dave wouldn't leave me, he wouldn't!" The tears didn't stop falling even when he turned to look at you, his heart almost shattering when he saw the state you were in. A state he had caused.

He opened the door, stepped out and closed it behind him. You felt the walls around you collapse, everything falling away as you focused on the door in front of you and hoping it opened for William to come back but it didn't. Until five knocks.

You stood up and hesitantly moved, wiping your eyes and inhaling and exhaling before you opened the door.

"William is gone." The fake blonde stated, holding a hand out towards you as you stared at him with a confused expression. "William Afton leaves and doesn't care about you. But I, Dave Miller, love you more than I love Texas."

"D- Davey." Your voice wavered before you rushed forward and wrapped your arms around him like you had done when he first showed up to your home earlier in the night. He stepped into your home, closing the door behind him before taking you into your room and holding onto you all night to make sure you knew he wasn't going anywhere.
