Kageyama POV:

"you guys will never believe it" Tanaka walks into the gymnasium with a dark aura surrounding him. We all surround him and daichi asks "what happened?" Tanaka shoves an article towards us so we can all see it.

The headline said "Tōru Oikawa has a girlfriend?"

"Kageyama isn't that y/n?" Hinata says looking at me, I look over at the picture on the article

it is her... but she said her and oikawa and her were just friends? "that's not fair, how does he get to date a hot girl!" Noya whines. Daichi smacks Noya in the back "this isn't volleyball related, put that away and get to practice" daichi demands and everyone does as he says.

Y/n POV:

I walk into school with nai and kai by my side.
So many people were staring at us? at me? "guys is it just me or are people looking at us?" I ask my friends "girl they're looking at you, not us" nai says. did I do something?

My eyes wonder over to a 5'4 girl with long brown hair and ashy grey eyes walking up to us "is it true you're dating oikawa?" my eyes widen and I look at the girl in front of me "what're you talking about?" I ask the girl, she then reaches inside her bag and pulls out an article and hands it to me.

I reach for it and look at what she's talking about < Toru oikawa has a girlfriend? > my eyes widen as I see the picture from yesterday's shoot. I feel my body getting hot, I look back up at the girl and just walk away from her and my friends.

"y/n where the hell are you going?" I don't even answer back and start running. Where the fuck is he?

so many stares, whispers, rumors being spread around the school

i feel my self zone out "how many people could've seen this article?"

ＢＡＮＧ !!

I suddenly feel my body collide with something hard, possibly a person? my body falls back a bit and I pick up my head and look up

just the person I was looking for "oh hey beau-
I cut him off before he could finish his sentence "oikawa the worst thing possible just happened!" he then looks at me with worrisome eyes ".. what happened?" I breath in and out "people think we're dating!" I shove the article in his face. He grabs it and laughs "I know, isn't this great?" I roll my eyes "no it's not, I don't want people to think we're dating"

"come on chibi chan it's not that bad" I look at him and give him a death glare, his eyes widen "okay okay, we'll just tell them we aren't dating" my face relaxes and I hug the boy "thanks so much oikawa!" he smiles at me and I wave goodbye and run back before I'm late to class.

I walk into class and notice everyone still staring at me. I walk to my seat beside kindaichi "good morning l/n" I smile at him and sit down "morning kindaichi" "so you and oikawa.. huh" he says giving me the look. I roll my eyes playfully "he's just a friend" he smirks and returns his gaze to the book in front of him. Soon our professor comes in and class starts.

Saturday morning

today's the first day of the inter high prelims. we don't play until the second round but we're still going early to check out the competition.

I put this outfit on ^ and put my aoba johsai jacket on over it. I head over to my vanity and do some really light makeup and head downstairs "where are you going? and why do you have a seijoh jacket on?" I turn around and see my mom cooking something. My body freezes up "I didn't know.. you were still home" she looks me up and down "you didn't answer my question" my phone buzzes and I see a notification from 'handsome tall glass of water' i look back up and try and look for the right words to say "I have a boyfriend!" Her eyes widen "yeah.. he's on the volleyball team and this is his jacket, I was gonna go to his game" she smiles and runs over to me "I never thought this day would come" she hugs me and my eyes widen slightly. she believed that? she backs away and smiles "what's his name? where does he live? can I meet him? what does he look like?" I bit my lip and say "um his name is.. toru oikawa" her eyes lit up "such a beautiful name.. so when can I meet him?" I fidget with my fingers "idk I'll ask him later, that is if you do let me go" she quickly nods her head "yeah go, you don't want to keep him waiting!" I nervously smile and say goodbye to my mom and walk out the house. wtf was that. I let out a small breath and take out my phone.

I put my phone away in my pocket and breathe in and out. well here goes nothing. I begin to run with all the force I had in my little body. This is the fastest I've ever ran before. My old track team coach would've been proud.

I started to feel myself sweat a little and the view of the school starts to become even more clear. I pick up the pace and eventually get there. Out of breath I look up at the team
"s-sorry... I'm... l-late" they all look at me confused and coach says "okay everyone get on the bus" everyone does so but oikawa waits for you "you okay l/n?" I stand up properly and flash him a smile "I'm fine" he smiles and you both walk onto the bus together "sit with me?" I nod my head and follow him to the back of the the bus. He sits next to the window and I sit beside him "so what was holding you up?" I turn to look at him "my mom..." he turns his body a little to face mine "tell me about it"

I tell him about everything about how I was lying to my mom and how I didn't tell her about being the volleyball manger "... and the excuse I gave her was that... you were my boyfriend" his eyes lit up "wow out of all people, you chose me?" I roll my eyes "you were the first person I thought of, only because you texted me" he laughs and I laugh with him.

I put in my headphones and start listening to some music. "as the world caves in" by Matt Maltese plays, I felt someone tap my shoulder and I look up and see oikawa trying to ask if he can listen too. I nod my head and hand him the other ear piece.

i start humming to the song while oikawa just watches. I lay my head on oikawa's shoulder and he lays his head on mine and we just enjoy the music on the ride there.

"l/n wake up" I heard someone say in a soft voice. I groan a little before opening my eyes "whattttt" I say in an exaggerated voice. My vision becomes clearer and I see oikawa beside me. I sigh and I take my headphones back and put them in my pocket. "we're here" I stretch and we all walk off the bus together.

I tie my shoes once I got off the bus and quickly follow after the team. "Oi isn't that the hot girl from the article!" i avert my eyes to the direction I heard the voice coming from. Oh it's karasuno. Two boys suddenly come rushing towards me with crazy eyes. I then feel someone pull me towards them.

"omg it's true!" I heard one of the guys tell the other. I lift my head up a little and see oikawa and then notice a buzz cut guy and a short boy with blond strands of hair in front us. They have karasuno jackets on. I then see a taller male with short dark brown hair and brown eyes coming up towards the two. "Cut it out you two!" He says while smacking their necks. I'm guessing that's the captain. he then looks at us and another guy with grey hair and hazel like eyes walks up behind him and they both simultaneously say "we're sorry" at the same time. I giggle and oikawa loosens his grip on me. "that's okay!" I say to the two and they both give me a soft smile. Well they seem pretty nice.

Ignoring whatever just happened we all walk into the gymnasium. Soon the game between karasuno and tokonami will start. We see karasuno warming up and oikawa yells "oi small fry!" Shoyo then turns around "the great king!" Kageyama turns around and sees us. I waved at the pair, shoyo smiles and waved back at me while kageyama just looks at me with a blank expression then turns away. we go to sit down in some seats. Oikawa sits beside me on my left and Sakai on my right.

Karasuno ends up beating tokonami in straight sets. Tokonami wasn't really that good yet but karasuno still gave their full effort.

seijoh goes against a team called Oomisaki and we obviously win in straight sets.

Which means in round 3 we get to go against karasuno

(I'm not that good at writing volleyball commentary and things like that so I'm sorry but I will try my best when writing the karasuno vs. aoba johsai segment)

Karasuno vs. Aoba johsai

"okay guys this is it, I believe we've all gotten stronger as a team and I truly believe you can beat karasuno! show them just how powerful we can be!" I chant. They look at me with a little glow in their eyes. Oikawa then says "let's do what we usually do, win" I smirk at his comment and the whistles blows and the make their way towards the court.

Karasuno's number 11 is serving, the whistle blows and he throws the ball up and spikes it over the net. Kunimi goes for the ball and receives it to oikawa. Matsukawa rushes in to do a quick but- oikawa spikes the ball down? instead of setting it he does a direct and spikes the ball down on the other side of the court leaving everyone in shock. I smirk and everyone cheers. Kageyama and the buzz cut guy along with his other teammates look pissed off, and ngl this kinda made me proud. Oikawa smirks and it looks like he's saying something to Kageyama? he gets mad and looks away.

(also not all the plays will be the same but the outcome will, just in case you get confused)

We serve the ball and the team captain receives it to Kageyama and in the span of 2 seconds hinata is already up to the net ready to spike. god damn he's fucking fast. Kageyama quickly sets the ball to hinata and he spikes it over the next, our number 3 receives it with no problem.

Oikawa runs to the net, is he gonna spike it? Buzz cut and hinata jump up to block it, oikawa ends up switching it to a set at the last minute. Oikawa sets it to iwaizumi who was unmarked since they were focused on Oikawa. The ball slams onto the floor giving us another point leaving the score 2 - 0 with us in the lead.

They're doing a synchronized attack? Hinata and buzz cut both rush to spike, their number 3 then comes in from the back. Ahh a back row attacks? just how many tricks does karasuno have up their sleeve! My eyes widen and slowly notice the whistle blow. Kageyama pulled off a setter dump?! Kageyama looks at oikawa and says this loud enough for me to hear "we'll be doing that same play again" this angers oikawa but he brushes it off. He can't do that though since he's up serve and a setter dump from the back would be an illegal play.

small time skip

The score is now 24 - 15 with us at set point. All we need is one more point. I look at the boys and me and Sakai say "ONE MORE POINTT!" at the same time catching most of the players off guard. Oikawa smirks at us but quickly returns his gaze onto the court.

Oikawa is up to serve now. He takes a deep breath before throwing the ball up and spiking it over the net causing cheers to emit from the crowd. The ball is then received by karasuno's number 1, Kageyama sets the ball to buzz cut since he was unmarked. Buzz cut spikes it over the next but hanaki receives it to oikawa. Oikawa then sets the ball to kindaichi. He spikes it but karasuno was able to block it. Kunimi and matsukawa rush to receive it. Luckily kunimi was able to save it and sends it to oikawa. Oikawa sends the ball over to iwaizumi and he spikes it. The ball ends up smacking hinata in the face but receives it? kinda? the ball flies over to left side of the court, hinata quickly regains his strength and rushes up to the net to get ready to spike. Kageyama ends up saving it and sets it to hinata. Our blockers get ready to read block and as soon as hinata tries to hit the ball over. Our defense slams it to floor. Two to three players rush in trying to save the ball but obviously fail. 25 - 15 we did it! we won the first set!

( okay this segment is already long enough so imma just skip to the end sorry...)

their libero receives the ball sending it to Kageyama. He sends it over to hinata and with all his force he spikes the ball but kindaichi ends up blocking it! They rush in to try and save the ball but we're unsuccessful. The ball slams to the floor. The crowd goes wild and everyone's cheering. The final whistle blows declaring us the victors. Everyone runs up and hugs each other. All of them covered in sweat but still smiling. I smile but then it quickly vanishes once I look over to the other side of the net. They all look so defeated, I kinda feel bad for them but I can't, our team deserved this win. I look back at my team and rush over to them and join their hug. "You guys did so amazing! kindaichi that last block was so cool!!" I pat his back and he smiles at me. "Praise me too!" oikawa whines and I giggle. I walk over to him and hug him. "ah l/n I'm really sweaty.." I look up at him and smile "you did really amazing today" he then turns so red causing everyone to notice. They all laugh and begin to tease him. I then let go off him and they line up.
