GLISTENING DIAMONDS.
026. ❛ grand theft auto.

"DIANA! OVER HERE!" Ned's voice pulled Diana out of her trance. He wore a suit and hat, which he pulled off quite well.

"Hey, Ned." Diana smiled and pulled the boy into a hug, talking loudly over the loud music, "I love your hat, dude."

He just laughed, and he shrugged before pulling the girl over to the group he had been sitting with, "Thank you. Have you heard from Peter? I know he was with you, but he hasn't answered any of my texts."

"Yeah, he was just getting us some drinks, but he should be here already." Diana looked around the gym for her date, silently hoping he didn't ditch her.

Turning around, Diana spotted a certain curly-haired, chocolate-eyed boy walking out of a janitor's room with a pale and fear-stricken face. His eyes caught Diana's before he shook his head and ran down a hallway.

Diana and Ned shared a look before following after him as they made their way through the hallways, looking for their friend. The girl's heels clicked harshly against the floor as she bent down to pick up Peter's discarded tie. The two made it outside to the parking lot to find a man holding a large weapon pointed at Peter.

Diana wrapped the tie around her hands and walked up behind the buff guy, using Peter's tie to strangle him. Pulling his head back, she whispered dangerously calmly, "Hey, honey, you really shouldn't mess with my Spidey. I really like his face, so don't ruin it, yeah?"

Since the man couldn't speak, the Shocker raised his shocker gauntlet and smacked Diana in the face with it before a web attached itself to the weapon. Peter looked over and saw Ned holding his web shooter. Diana let go of the man and used the heel of her shoes to kick him in the back.

"Nice shot!" Peter exclaimed with a large grin. He pulled the web shooter to himself and trapped the guy against the school bus with a web blast. "Yes! Ned, Ana, the guy with the wings is Liz's dad."

"What?"

"I know. I gotta tell Mr. Stark. Call Happy Hogan. He's Mr. Stark's head of security. And, uh, get a computer to track my phone for me."

Peter saw Diana holding her face in pain and walked over to her, softly tilting her head to the side so he could see the cut, "Let me see."

Diana let out a groan as Peter ran his thumb over her cut, "Damn, that gauntlet really is painful."

Peter smiled and kissed her forehead before walking back, "Track my phone, yeah? I gotta go."

Diana furrowed her eyebrows, "I'm going with you."

"Diana you're not going with me," Peter stated and walked back towards her.

"Yes, I am." Diana nodded.

"Diana, it's too dangerous. And you're in heels and a dress."

"So?" Diana scoffed, "I have an extra pair of clothes and shoes in my locker for p.e."

Peter shook his head, "Diana—"

"I'm going with you!" Diana interrupted him and started to ramble, "You know that you need me—"

Peter put his gloved hand over her mouth, "Okay, okay, shut up."

"I'm going with you!" Diana's continued to protest even though her voice was muffled.

Peter continued to shake his head until he sucked in a deep breath, "You're going with me! Take off you're heels."

Diana nodded and held onto the school bus and took off her heels until Peter webbed her hand to the bus. "Sorry! Don't hate me!"

And with that, he swung away. "Peter!" Diana yelled after him but slapped a hand over her mouth as it echoed through the silent parking lot.

She heard Ned chuckle silently and whipped her head towards the boy, "Ned, give me that pen."

Ned immediately nodded and gave the girl the pen he found on the floor and watched as she quickly ripped off the webbing. She looked at Ned and threw the pen away before rapidly walking away.

"Hey!" Ned called after her, "Where are you going?!"

"To make sure he doesn't kill himself!"

IT WASN'T LONG BEFORE Peter had successfully 'borrowed' Flash's car. As he rounded the school parking lot, he heard the all too familiar yell of Diana Black.

"Do that again, Spider-Man, and I'll chop off those hands of yours!" Diana grumbled and opened the passenger car door, and got in.

Peter clenched his jaw and just drove off again, "What the hell are you doing here?!"

"You'll die without me." Diana retorted back. Peter now took notice of her gym attire instead of her dress, and her hair was pulled into a high ponytail instead of the bun she had.

"Holy shit!" She screeched and grabbed onto the car handles as Peter almost crashed into a car going in the opposite direction.

It would have been quicker, safer, and much more efficient for him if Diana drove, but they didn't have time to switch seats.

"Peter!" Diana screamed for the millionth time as he crossed a traffic light illegally, zooming through a red light and then making an abrupt rough turn, successfully almost getting hit by another car. By now, the handle Diana was gripping onto was way beyond dented.

"Sorry!" He apologized before taking his eyes off the road and pulling a phone to his ear. "Hey! Ned, can you hear me? Yeah, okay, I need you to track my phone!"

"Why are you on your phone!?" Diana's eyes widened, asking the most obvious question. Not comfortable with her tombstone saying 'death by Peter Parker driving.'

"Look for Jackson Avenue!" Spider-Man yelled over to her. She nodded frantically, keeping an eye out for Jackson Avenue. She needed to keep her mind busy, or she'd go crazy just sitting in the passenger seat. "You're on speakerphone!" He shouted to Ned, placing the phone down.

Ned's chuckle came from the other line, "You stole Flash's car. Awesome."

"Yeah, it's awesome, awesome!" Peter laughed, placing both hands on the wheel.

Diana's eyes practically fell out of her head as she drastically paled, "You're driving on the wrong side of the road!" She grabbed the wheel and switched them to another lane, "Watch out for that bus!"

"Get out of the way!" Peter yelled as if he could magically fan the bus out of the middle of the road. Diana cursed under her breath, ducking her head when the bus got closer. The bus sped up, barely missing the car.

"What the hell was that?!" Diana screeched angrily, sitting back up and whipping her head around to the driver.

"You guys okay?" Ned asked.

"No!" Diana screamed into the phone. "Peter's going to kill me!"

"I've never really driven before," He admitted, yelling over his adrenaline, "Just a couple of times with May in a parking lot."

"Oh?! I had no idea! You're such a good driver I would've thought you were a professional! You've probably raced in Monaco before. Do you think I could have an autograph?" Diana whipped her head to Peter, sarcasm lethally dripping from her words.

"I do not need your sarcasm right now!" He groaned, then screamed as he ran through yet another red light.

"And I do not need you to kill me! Oh shit!" Diana screamed, holding on to the beat-up door handle and shutting her eyes.
