As Eden walked home, the grin on her face stayed put. Her lips tingled when she thought of him and how his lips felt against hers. Her ponytail bounced as she quietly sang to herself.
Eden slowly opened the door, not wanting to disturb or wake her parents as she knew it was well past her curfew.
"Where in God's name have you been?"
"Shit." Eden cursed under her breath, slowly pulling her hand away from the shiny door knob. She inhaled sharply as she slowly turned around to face her mother and her wrath.
"I said, Where have you been? I'm waiting, young lady." Her mother crossed her arms after neatly folding the newspaper and resting it beside her.
"I-I.. I was.. was out.." Eden stammered out, her mind going blank as her mother narrowed her eyes at her. "With Nikki! And we just.. lost track of time-"
"I don't appreciate being lied to, Eden." She cut her off, her unamused expression growing angry. "You were with.. That Tommy boy again, weren't you?"
"N-No, mom. Of course not." Eden lied, the memory of kissing him flashing through her mind.
"Elias never lied to me, dear." She pointed out, placing both hands on the velvet lining the armrest and pushing herself up.
"Elias.. he isn't here." Eden said slowly, gripping the fabric of the dress she wore. "He.. He's not coming back, mom."
She couldn't believe that even after he was missing for almost eight months, her parents were still comparing her to him. It angered her. They had another child too! It angered Eden that they still cared more about Elias, that they used his disappearance as a marketing campaign.
"Don't you dare say that!" She pointed at her, her voice raising as Eden stumbled back into a wall, fear flashing in her eyes. "Don't you ever fucking say that again!"
Even if she hurt herself in the process, Eden straightened her back and blinked the tears away. "He's not coming back! He's fucking gone, mom! I'm here! And I'm your kid too! But you still care about him more! I'm exhausted! So, you know what? Yes! I was with Tommy! And I'll be with him again tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that! I'm gonna spend the rest of the summer with him! Because I would rather fucking die than spend one more day trying to impress you."
Eden's face flushed and she glared at the woman, whose face had reddened as anger flooded her body. The girl didn't even see it coming before her mother's hand collided with her cheek. Eden gasped, stumbling back as pain spread from her cheek through out her face.
"It should have been you!" The woman shouted, tears streaming down her face. "It should be Elias here!"
"I know."

Eden cheered as Farraday pulled the bottle of alcohol from his bag. A grin spread across his face as he raised the bottle in the air. "Snagged it from my dad's stash."
"Finally using those brainpowers for good." Tommy smirked, sliding his arm from around Eden's shoulders. "It's 'bout damn time. Give it."
Farraday took a swig of the alcohol, sputtering and coughing seconds after the alcohol slid down his throat. "Oh! It's bad, it's so bad!"
Davey took the bottle from his hands, glancing at Eden as she gave him a nod of encouragement. She giggled, covering her mouth with her hand, wincing as her fingers brushed against her bruising cheek that she'd covered with foundation. Davey grimaced, handing the bottle over to Woody. "Ugh! It tastes like my mouth is bleeding."
Woody's face scrunched up as the liqued burned his throat, "Oh, ew."
"Guess you dickheads just aren't men yet." Tommy scoffed, roughly taking the bottle from his hands and taking a sip.
"My turn." Eden said, reaching out to take the bottle. Tommy lifted it out of her reach, clicking his tongue. "Aw, princess.. It's strong, you know."
"Tommy, just give me the damn bottle." Eden grumbled, stretching her arm up to grab the bottle. Tommy sent a glare Farraday's way when the blond boy let his eyes wander her body. "What's the magic word?"
"I'm not doing that." Eden crossed her arms.
"No drink for you, I guess." Tommy said smugly, taking another swig from the bottle.
"Hmph. Please." Eden grumbled, crossing her arms and looking away from him.
"Mm. You're gonna be saying that a lot more now." Tommy whispered in her ear as he handed her the bottle. Chills shot down Eden's spine as she nervously lifted the bottles to her lips, fully aware of all four boys eyes on her.
She squeezed her eyes shut as the burning liquid slipped down her throat, entering her stomach. A warmness spread from the center of her stomach throughout her body. "Shit."
Tommy laughed, taking the bottle from the girl's hands, "So, what's the deal with you and Nikki?"
Davey blushed, the corner of his lips turning into a smile. "Well, we hung out again last night.."
Eden giggled, taking the bottle back from Tommy's hands and tilting her head back as she listened to the boys tease Davey.
"We.. have like, no, we have like.. a connection." He explained, waving his hands around
"A connection? You hear that, 'Den? They have a connection!" Tommy said sarcastically, taking the bottle back from Eden. "The only connection I want with her is vaginal. Oral if she's into it."
"Shut up." Eden huffed, rolling her eyes as she adjusted her legs so that her knees were pointing away from him. "Honestly."
"Don't talk about her like that." Davey snapped, causing the boys to fall silent.
"What's the deal with you and Eden?" Farraday asked, noticing Eden's reaction after Tommy had made the comment about Nikki.
Eden looked up from the ground, glancing at Tommy as she watched his face fade into a deep red color. Davey's eyes widened as he looked between the two. "Holy shit!"
"No way." Woody shook his head, "No way did someone like Tommy get you."
"What the fuck is that supposed to mean?" Tommy snapped, glaring at the boy. Woody raised his hands in defense.
"Can we just.. change the subject?" Eden asked slowly, shooting Farraday a warning look. Tommy glanced over at her, not failing to notice the emotions swirling in her eyes. Guilt spread from his heart, pumping through his veins as he gripped the bottle, mentally scolding himself.
He knew he would find a way to fuck this up.
"Mackey's still out there." Davey said, changing the subject for her and pulling back the curtain and peering out the window.
"Look, Davey. We've been on him for weeks." Farraday said, "I mean, if he was gonna give us a clue, we'd have seen it by now.. Don't you think?"
"Not if we missed it the first time.."
