It was another day, you were watching the sad boy as usual, but he did something out of his routine. 

He walked towards the forest where you would usually hide in. Your eyes widened as you realized he was taking a different route back to the village. 

You quickly turned your back to the tree you were hiding behind, hoping that he wouldn't see you.

But then it hit you—he probably wouldn't see you, and the thought sent a small pang through your chest..

You quickly turned and peeked out from behind the tree, only to find the boy staring straight at you.

"What are you doing?" The boy questioned.

 You let out a startled squeak at the sudden question before dashing off toward the horizon of your flower field.

"H-Hey! Come back here!" The boy called out but you didn't stop. 

He began to run after you, the boy gaining on you quickly. He finally caught up and grabbed your hand, making you stop and look back.

Your eyes locked as you took in all his features—the line of sweat trailing down the side of his face from running, his blonde hair flowing in the wind, his ice-blue eyes gazing into your (E/C) ones, and his hand clasped tightly around yours.

You snapped out of your daze, glanced down at your interlocked hands, and immediately began trying to pull yours free from his grasp.

"'Why are you trying to run?' the boy asked, his voice tinged with sadness as realization dawned on him. 'Oh, you're probably running because... I'm a monster.' He finally released your hand, and you froze at his sudden, heartbreaking words.

"You can see me?" you asked softly, tilting your head to the side. The boy gave you a puzzled look. 'Why wouldn't I be able to see you?' he asked in return.

A small smile spread across your face. 'Never mind. Um... what's your name?' you asked. He seemed a bit surprised that you didn't already know, but quickly brushed it off. 'Naruto Uzumaki! What's yours?' he replied, and you perked up, pleased that he wanted to know your name too.

'(Y/n)!' you said cheerfully. Naruto furrowed his brows. 'You don't have a last name?' he asked, curiosity evident in his tone.

You glanced down slightly. 'I... don't really know my last name,' you admitted softly.

Naruto panicked at the sight of your saddened expression. 'Uh, don't be sad! Do you wanna be friends?!' he asked suddenly.

Your eyes lit up, and you quickly turned to him. 'Really?! Yeah!!' Naruto beamed at your response and took your hand once more. 'Come on! Let's go do something!' you giggled as you and Naruto took off running together.

You did it, you thought. You became friends with the one you'd been admiring.
