Lily was just laying in her bed, one of her favorite songs playing, the headphones not letting anyone to hear, but her.

She bought the walkman that summer, while she lost her time into the muggle London.

She remembered some of aunt Petunia's old cassettes playing while she was knitting in the living-room; Lily just had to buy that walkman, along with a bunch of muggle cassette tapes. When she managed to arrive into Diagon Alley, she also bought some of the songs she heard at the Weasleys and at school.

Enchanting the walkman to work into magic places was the thing that kept her distracted from crying most of the summer and when she had finally managed to fix the thing, she let herself drown in a bunch of muggle and wizarding songs.

And this particular muggle song wasn't getting out of her head.

There's too much smoke to see it
There's too much broke to feel this

She had been broken after all, but who was that we she would think about whenever she listened to that song.

Well, I love you, I love you
And all of your pieces

Lily once loved someone, but she loved him, past tense. Maybe she wasn't over Will after all?

There's too much smoke to see it
There's too much broke to feel this

She still cried herself to sleep on the nights she wouldn't take the potion, but was it because of him?

Well, I love you, I love you
And all of your pieces

'I love you...and all of your pieces...' Lily muttered softly and changed the cassette tape to Dirty Paws.

'Lils?' Hermione's voice broke through the little space the redhead let between the curtains of her bed.

'Mione?' she said, stopping the cassette and taking off her headphones.

Hermione peered through her curtains and a little light emerged from the window beside the bed.

'Aren't you going to do anything? It's a Sunday after all.'

'I don't know, Hermione, looks like my whole spirit flew through the window,' she mumbled, putting the walkman in the bag beside her bed.

'You can always go and watch the Gryffindor Quidditch practice, Ginny said she could use some advice now that the best we ever had seeker decided to leave her team,' Hermione offered with a smile.

'Sounds like a good distraction,' Lily muttered and surrounded her bed, stopping in front of her trunk.

She pulled out her old Gryffindor Quidditch jumper she honestly adored. She ran her fingers on the on the 6 letters that formed her name P o t t e r and 07, the number that proved she was once the seeker of her Quidditch team.

Hermione left as the redhead put on the jumper, knowing that old memories would fill her whole; like that time when she broke her hand and Lockhart tried to heal it, but instead all of her arm bones vanished, or that time Draco and his buffoons tried to scare her with their Dementor costume.

Why did her mind drift to him that quickly?

With a sigh Lily decided to leave Draco Malfoy alone, searching for her leather jacket. That particular jacket reminded her of Sirius as it was his.

Lily remembered the day she had found it in his bedroom at Grimmauld Place nr 12 while she, Ron and Hermione were on the run. She wrapped it tightly around her, breathing in his fading scent of cigarettes and was that chocolate?

Shrugging her thought off, she also put on her Gryffindor scarf and a pair of boots. Using her wand to put her red hair into a bun, she decided she was ready for leaving until she caught a glimpse of a book that was left on her nightstand.

She approached it slowly and opened it to the first page, reading the words written in cursive, the same writing as hers.

For my queen Prongslette
From the moment that I saw you
I can say I fell in love for the second time
I don't doubt you are going to grow
And be extraordinary, just like queen doe
So I'm sure you will share the love for novels
And here I am, gifting a 5 months old
A books of muggle love novels
Which shall help you in the search for happiness
And maybe one day you'll find yourself in love
With someone that'll hex you whenever you try to flirt with them (queen doe is laughing as she is reading over my shoulder)
But just remember that falling in love is about two people and he will come around
If not, well, king Prongs will be there to kick his ass
Merry Christmas, queen Prongslette
With love, dad, known as king Prongs

A lonely tear fell onto the yellowish-white page as Lily read those words for maybe the thousand time.

Ever since her first year, when the girl found the book along with her invisibility cloak under the Christmas tree, she had read it over and over again, being one of the only things left from her dad.

With a sigh Lily decided to take the book too, in hopes she will manage to find some of her favorite quotes that were highlighted with scarlet ink.

She was used to mark her pages by folding the corner and doodling over it, instead of using a bookmark like other people.

Lily made her way out of the common room, descending hundreds of stairs as she walked to the Entrance Hall. When she got through the open door of the castle, the cold October wind slapped her cheeks, making them rosy. She thought about a couple of nights ago when she helped a blonde with his Patronus charm. She didn't get to see what it was due to the cold; it was a bad idea to go to the Astronomy Tower wearing shorts.

She didn't see Draco the next day or that day for the matter and she was left hanging on the hope that her advice was useful.

The Quidditch Pitch appeared into her sight, leaving her to watch seven dressed in scarlet robes figures that were flying high in the sky.

She quickly walked up the stairs that led to the stands, finding a seat close to the ledge as she knew Ginny would approach her if she had caught her gaze.

Lily truly missed flying as she felt at home on her Firebolt, flying through the air, the wind messing with her red locks.

It was something about Quidditch that always made her feel good and happy; it made her forget everything and even if she was frustrated when she couldn't find the golden ball that would in most cases bring the victory, she would at least forget all her other worries and let herself get lost into the game or the practice.

Lily watched as Ginny flew at full speed towards the goal posts, clearly stunning the keeper as she threw the Quaffle hard and with precision. The keeper, a rather tall boy with brown hair, managed to catch it in the last second, earning a few applauses from Lily.

At that Ginny had noticed her and with a gesture of her wand the chasers took their positions again while the redhead flew to Lily.

'Hey there, sister,' Lily couldn't help, but smile at the last word. That's how Ginny began calling her ever since she moved in with the Weasleys and she found it rather sweet.

'Hi, Gin, you're doing a great job' Lily said with a smile and Ginny grinned widely.

'Well I certainly would do a better job if you were on the team,' Ginny sang and Lily rolled her eyes.

'I told you Gin, my NEWTs are coming up-'

'So do mine and I'm not complaining, Lils,' she said and glanced at the players who were doing a great job.

'Anyway you know, Gin, I'm really sorry, one day maybe.'

'One day,' Ginny sighed and shot a sympathetic smile at Lily. 'Alright then, have fun watching us.'

With a wave Ginny flew away from the stands and Lily watched as she joined the perfect formation of her chasers, all headed for the goal posts.

Lily opened her book, still smiling brightly. She kept smiling as she ran her fingers on the words that were written by her father until she turned the page to the first novel.

It began with a love letter...Dear Amelia,...

Lily made herself comfortable as she fell away into the world of words.

Draco Malfoy had just put on the last bit of his Quidditch equipment. He was forced by Blaise to try out for the team again and he actually made it, even if he didn't want to play. But for all times sake he decided some Quidditch would do him good.

As the Slytherin team walked onto the pitch Draco caught a glimpse of the Gryffindor one still training; they had after all agreed they would share the pitch.

Draco just shrugged off the thought of teasing the Weasley girl as he mounted his broom and flew high in the air.

It was just like he was attracted to her like a magnet; the redhaired girl came into his sight, leaving him stunned for a few moments. Was her sense of fashion the cause or the fact that her rosy cheeks just begged him to make them warm? Or the fact that her bun was held in place by her wand?

His eyes landed a few moments on the book Lily was reading, he knew that he couldn't read it from so high above; maybe he would approach her afterwards to ask her about it.

And training went on as smoothly as it could, Lily continuing on reading the novel. She didn't even notice that her team had company, nor that he was flying close to her, trying to see the snitch.

She suddenly felt water on the bare skin of her hands and Lily closed the book quickly; the rain had begun. She noticed how Ginny made her players fly down, proud of their training so far and then Lily's eyes landed on Draco Malfoy and her brows furrowed in confusion. When did he and the Slytherin team join them?

Unlike Ginny, Blaise seemed not bothered by the rain and it was perhaps the fact that they had started later than the lions.

When Draco caught Lily's eye, she waved shyly at him and he did so in return.

The blonde watched as the redhead retrieved her wand from the bun, causing her red hair to fall on her back in a mess of curls. The girl used the Umbrella Charm to shield her against the rain as she made her way back to the castle.

An hour later, due to the fact that a simple way turned into a storm, Draco made his way back to the common room slightly miserable.

'Phoenix,' he muttered quietly the password to the man in the painting who gave him a smile and swung open, letting him pass.

A flash of redhair was the first thing that caught his attention. Lily Potter was sitting with her friends in a corner of the common room, rather close to the fire. Hermione and Ron were cuddling while Lily was reading them  from the same book he had seen her reading in the stands.

He didn't realize when he had made his way closer to the group. Their attention snapped to his and they stood in an awkward silence before Draco cleared his throat.

'What book is that, Potter? I've seen you reading it in the stands and you made me slightly curious,' he said with a grin, leaving puzzled expressions on Hermione's and Ron's faces.

'It's a book with love novels, doesn't have a name or an author, it's just many words on a wave of pages,' Lily muttered as she flashed a smile to Draco and showed him the cover.

It looked old, but it was still beautiful. On it was a blonde girl dressed in a scarlet dress, with a storm of roses falling over the painting; the cover really was painted.

'Well have fun reading it,' Draco said softly and Lily decided to ask him one more question.

'Did you manage to cast your patronus?'

Draco wasn't entirely sure if he should tell her about it when Lily was with her friends so he just shrugged.

'It's still work in progress.'
