"Why are we here?" Y/N asked, glancing around warily. The two of them were currently standing on a ledge hundreds of feet from the large body of water under them. One wrong step and they'll fall. 

Denki grabbed two, long, harnesses, "So we can bungee jump, of course!"

The yellow-haired teen hooked his harness onto the deck and pulled it until it was tight, "Ladies first."

He allowed the girl to step into the harness before securing it and tying the required knots. 

"How do you know how to do this?"

"I don't."

Y/N's eyes widened to the size of saucers, "You don't know how to do this and you're doing it anyway? What if we die? For the second time?"

"Don't be so uptight!" Denki cheered, "Aren't you tired of this place? I want to move on already. Japan is getting boring. I hope I get reincarnated in like, Canada or something."

The boy soon crawled into his own harness and suited up. He walked closer to Y/N and smashed her body against his, "Just for some extra fun."

He whipped out a long piece of climbing rope. Wrapping it around the two of them, he tied a tight knot before shooting Y/N a thumbs up, "Ready?"

"Sure."

"If we die, just know I love you very very much, and I promise I will find you in our reincarnated life!" he winked, before taking her shoulders and hurling both of them off the ledge. 

Shrieks ripped themselves from their throats as they plummeted down. Denki's hand scrabbled at her neck, to which Y/N responded by taking Denki's head and securing his face into the crook of her neck. His shivery arms wrapped around her when suddenly, Y/N felt a jerk at her foot, and she was no longer in the moment.

"A little more," Y/N heard Denki say. He was sitting on the roof, panting hard. His costume was ripped all over and blood poured down the top of his head. His ankle was twisted horribly, and he looked barely conscious. 

"Kami! Stop! Don't use more-"

Before the last of her sentence left her lips, Denki took a deep breath and forced himself to stand. 

"Indiscriminate shock," he uttered, extending his hand toward the little disc embedded within the villain's cloak, "1.3 million volts!"

Y/N watched in horror as the tremendous amount of electrical energy left the tips of his fingers. The boy's body was still coursing through with electricity as he stumbled back, tripping over his mangled ankle. 

"KAMINARI!" Y/N shouted, lunging after the boy as he fell, just barely reaching him. 

Before she could even think, she threw herself off the roof, hands stretched out as far as she could, trying to get to the boy. 

Adrenaline coursed through her body as she willed herself to fall harder, to just please reach him before they crashed into the ground fifty feet below. 

Her cold hand clamped around the warm ones of Kaminari Denki and just like that, her chest connected with his. She grasped her companion's head and pushed his head into the crook of her neck, trying to protect him from the inevitable. 

As she closed her eyes, tears leaked out and into the air. This world was corrupted. Perhaps their sacrifice would make it even the littlest bit better. 

She had made a promise to Denki once before. 

Right before they crashed into the pavement, she felt a shivery pair of arms wrap around her. 

It was a touch full of regret.
